If you're still in that area, I would say that your time is better spent learning the subtleties of a weapon you plan to upgrade and keep around rather than get a slightly better weapon now and face the learning curve later when the penalty for doing so is much higher. You might die a few more times since the weapon won't be as strong as the Drake Sword, but when you're a badass with it later on, you'll be grateful. Also, being a pyromancer means you can go down pretty much any route (strength, dex, faith, etc.) so I would definitely experiment with different things, see what works best for you (hint: not the drake sword), and upgrade down that route. Again, you'll be thankful later when you're dealing out stupid amounts of damage and not being hit because you had practice early on.

Three questions: Is there a decent guide I can read somewhere? I totally forget how to get around in Dark Souls and I've died a lot and I feel retarded. Is Chaos Blade a good PvP weapon? I had a blast main wielding Hiltless in Demon's Souls and it's pretty much the same sword. How should I level up attributes for such a build too? What is the best light armor in the game? I know Demon's Souls had two, one for each sex, but it seems all armors are shared in Dark Souls (thank God) so I'm just looking for "the best" one.

So if I set the resolution to something larger than my screen resolution in the fix's file, I'm effectively supersampling?

yeah. though it needs to be considerably higher to see noticeable effects. if you're at 1920x1080, try 2560x1440.

You might want to see what you could do in terms of poise if you swapped wolf ring for the ring of favor and protection. Sages robe combined with the Xanthous waistcloth gives very good defenses for a combined 8 weight and then you use the helmet and glove slots for poise and utility. Early game you want to get the gold hemmed set as it gives excellent defenses early game at extremely low weight. Also this source is now outdated with the new patch however its still quite useful. That and I'm trying to figure out the optimum armor set to hit at least 55 poise and still have under 25% burden for faster rolls.[/QUOTE] You should experiment with armor a bit more; It's notable that standard knight armor has higher poise and less weight than elite knight armor, and you'd be really surprised with chain armor as well, the helmet offers only 1 less poise and weighs much less, while the body is pretty lightweight and comes with a humble amount of poise as well. I'm not sure about the legs though. Whenever you're toying with poise/weight and still trying to have a good sense of protection, it's good to keep knight and chain armor in mind as a potential option as part of your set.

I would not advise the painting gaurdian sword its moveset and range are atrocious. I think the new dagger might even out damage it while having a better moveset and amazing critical damage if not that use the falchion. If both weapons are maxed and you have 40 dex the damage difference is 17 however the falchion has a considerably better moveset and higher range.

Any tips for getting this game to run better? I've tried the patches, but I just want more than 10FPS in undead burg. And why is it that it runs smoother at 1080p than at any lower resolutions?

How does one play this game with a keyboard/mouse? Is it even possible?

Updated build, I realized the Painting Guardian Sword has shit range. I lose some defense, gain some poise, gain some range with the Uchigatana, but lose the bow. Not a bad trade, really. If you picked Thief as your starting class, then yes.
