Am I missing the point of this game? I really enjoy it, but I don't enjoy the idea of repeating the same 10 minutes of content over and over because the boss is difficult. I like the boss design, I like the mob designs, I don't like having to go through the same 10 minutes of easy as balls cannon fodder trying not to lose any HP to fight a boss.

I want to play it, but I'm against looking up a walkthrough for bosses and against seeing the same area for 1 hour
Walkthroughs won't really help much except for a few certain bosses that you can use cheap methods on anyway, it's all in how you execute the techniques.
What boss is it that you're stuck on?
Anyone want to help me get through the Oolacile town place?
[sp]I've already opened the shortcut and now I'm up against this big guy that swings a ball around, and he's quite difficult as my weapons keep bouncing off of him...[/sp]

I'm not stuck on the boss, I know what I have to do, it's just I keep screwing up on my grounds, and that's fine with me. It's just the fact that my screw ups result in me having to walk through 10 minutes of scenery again for no reason, it doesn't make it harder to me, just pointless.
I'll probably get over it eventually. maybe I'm not looking hard enough for bonfires
You're going to have fun with the archers. :v:
The walk from the bonfire to them is stupid as fuck, and the enemies certainly aren't cannon fodder there.

[sp]Use piercing attacks/weapons.[/sp]
This is starting to piss me off...
I can't seem to summon anyone. It just keeps failing and failing.
Oh wow
[sp]Just got to Manus...how am I supposed to kill this thing exactly? He's huge![/sp]
Oh man, the garden is starting to freak me out. One of those gardener guys attacked me from behind and missed, I saw the pitchfork, but when I turned around nothing was there. Cue eerie music.
The game is supposed to punish you for screwing up.
You must be missing bonfires or you're really exaggerating because I don't remember any pace with a 10 minute walk to the boss with easy enemies.
Making you walk a far way every time you die to a boss isn't punishing, because it's not difficult, just tedious
Making you walk a far way every time you die to a boss isn't punishing, because it's not difficult, just tedious
You can always just run past all the enemies. I've done that to get to every boss I've done so far.
Hahaha! Someone who summoned me summoned someone else who threw a rock that said hello. Wild!
only time i had problems with getting to a boss after dying was maybe blighttown and def. sens fortress
with sen's though once you get the cage to come down it becomes like maybe 2 minutes only
Is level 55 about right to be playing the dlc? I have a character on xbox I made for it and need to know when to stop leveling.
Oh dear, at the Capra demon. Here goes...

Also do fire enchants do damage based on the weapon's damage, or a fixed amount of damage? Say I enchant my weapon with that fire resin, will it to +50 lightning damage or 30% of the weapon's damage in lightning?
Wondering if I should use my halberd or the very quick mail breaker.
[editline]26th August 2012[/editline]
There we go, thanks for the help, man with pig helmet and big sword.
What's the level range on the white sign soapstone?
well, yeah, i think i actually meant just sens in general
fuck that place
Did you not use the second bonfire at the top? It's right below the boss.
So I'm on my third attempt at a playthrough because GFWL fucking hates my internet for some reason so it deleted all of my saves so far, I'm pissed. I seriously hope someone creates a way around the shitty service.
EDIT: And by shitty service I mean GFWL. I might as well just fucking speed run the first few areas seeing as I went through to the bell gargoyles three times today. Fuuuckkkk
Did you disable ingame AA and motion blur?
Isn't it just AA? Mine works fine with motion blur enabled
Wow I'm late, sorry

Check your saves folder. I doubt it deleted it for no reason. If you're playing with a new name you'll have to transfer the save.

I would advise going light and start learning how to dodge his moves.
Also you can use the broken pendant as a shield against his spells by using it.

It adds a fixed amount of damage for example 80 fire damage in the case of charcoal pine resin so fast weapons are the best for buffs. I wouldn't advise using the mailbreaker for long though as it is kind of terrible.
You can also summon [sp]normal sized Sif to help with Manus if you found him before I suppose[/sp]
These maggots are the toughest things I've fought so far.

I just got stun locked and eaten alive in a second.
Invade world in the Depths, Knight, alright I can take that. Backstab her once, no damage, oh, I guess it's the lag. Backstab two mores times, still no damage. Knight starts spamming crystal soulmass. Oh a hacker. Kite her into the basilisk pit since I could tell from the Butchers this was probably her first time, she runs into the swarm and is instantly cursed, turning to stone, it counts as a kill. Best invasion ever.

Yeah don't even attack those guys, they're not hostile unless you attack them.

Yeah just used a normal rapier, same speed as the mailbreaker but more damage.
Also I don't remember the Gaping Dragon having this much health on the PS3. Is it just me having kinda rushed through the place up till now and therefore only armed with a Halberd (with no upgrades), or did they bump the health up?
You are just somewhat weak.
Its head is actually a weak spot so you can use that to deal slightly more damage.
You might want to consider getting a +3 weapon as its a significant damage increase for a grand total of 3 titanite shards.
Depending on your build you could also see if you could acquire a black knight weapon. A black knight halberd even with just the minimum strength requirement is truly amazing.
Really everybody should try the black knight halberd at least once its quite a lovely weapon its two handed heavy attack is just amazing.
I have it, first drop from the forest black knight along with a shard, was quite happy but i'm unable to use it right now and souls are hard to come by in these lower level areas
Though I am upset I didn't get my favourite weapon in the game, the Black Knight Sword from the knights in the Parish, guess i'll have to wait a while :(
Yeah don't even attack those guys, they're not hostile unless you attack them.
I just saw them and thought "hey free souls" and proceeded to become worm food.
started a new faith based character with the bottomless box glitch for jolly cooperation.
I miss being able to one shot everything with the BK greatsword, but lightning is pretty fun too.
Managed to pin the cheat i invaded between a fog gate and myself in a narrow corridor, he couldnt get out so decided to turn his dirty hack off instead.
I know i used one to beat him but running the entire game with one on is just retarded. made a video too, hopefully it will provoke a patch
Unfortunately, A patch most likely won't work. I've got membership on cheathappens.com for fucking around with trainers in freeroam games and they release trainers like 30 minutes/1 hour after a patch.
