Because it's a shitty, dark and damp place with tight corridors, slides and holes to fall into. Add in those frogs which might really ruin your day should you get stuck in a corner, and you got a recipe for shit. Blighttown is a shithole as well.

fuck shiva doesn't appear in the forest after the first time you meet him which means i can't just kick the bodyguard off the edge for the DWGR fuck

I'm at SL 40, and will probably stay there. I'm in the catacombs, and am considering upgrading my Zweihander to Fire + 5, which would make it pretty powerful for my current progression (won't get red chunks for a while, but I can farm green easy as in blighttown). I'm in the cat covenant at the moment, but the guys I am invading seem to be tanks (stone armor mainly). So I need an anti tank weapon that knocks off a heap of stamina.

fuck everything since i have to kill shiva's bodyguard in blighttown now, i farmed souls to get my pyromancy flame to +10, went back to the undead asylum to get the rusted iron ring, ran to blighttown to get great combustion from quelana, and then tried to kill him again and then shiva raped me with that fucking greatsword again which means i need to farm souls to pay absolution, rejoin the covenant, and figure out some way to kill this fucker [editline]26th August 2012[/editline] ughhhh how can i kill this fucking bodyguard in one or two hits does kicking them make them instantly hostile? or is it only when you deal damage? because then maybe i could kick him away from shiva and then rape him with great combustion [editline]26th August 2012[/editline] maybe i'll just farm more souls to level my pyromancy flame more [editline]26th August 2012[/editline] i just want this ring damn it :(

Its not even that great anymore why are you so desperate to have it? I would say just do other stuff and come back when you are more powerful because time is a lot more valuable then that ring. Anyway if you really want that ring you should just get the red tear stone let the poison wear you down then cast power within and then just combustion the guard if you are worried that won't kill him then quickly join the chaos covenant and get chaos fireball for free. If that doesn't kill the bastard in one hit then I don't know what will.

I edited my post with another solution but you already got the ring. Ring still has its uses but technically its a ring that can be entirely replaced with skill. Oh well.[/QUOTE] It's (500 souls)x(your soul level). So in other words it gets a lot more expensive as you level up, yes. [editline]26th August 2012[/editline] though it eventually reaches the point where absolution is less expensive than leveling up, since the number of souls required to level up increases exponentially while the number of souls required for absolution is linear.
