I just rang the upper bell. Now what do I do?
Time to ring the lower bell. Remember that gate outside of the church? The one the boar was standing infront of? There's a corpse there that will have a key on it. There will also be a lever to the right of it that will open the gate. When you grab the key, go back to the bridge that the dragon is on. If you want to play it safe, then you'll have to go back to Firelink Shrine and walk all the way back to where you first meet Solaire. Otherwise, you can go from the Undead Church (Where you fight the Gargoyles) and head to the middle of the bridge and make a mad dash back to where Solaire is. There's a locked door near there. The key you picked up will open that door and it'll take you in the right direction.
Down to blight town you go. If you don't have the master key you'll need to go lower burg > depths > blight town.

Do anyone at low level have a Titanite Catch Pole they can trade? I got the Fang Boar Helm from the boar, but I got unlucky with the first titanite demon. I'm trying to roll a mage, and I love that weapon to death. Though, Magic Estoc +10 does sound like a tempting option. [editline]o[/editline] I'm level 20
Seem there is a serious bug on PC. Not gonna spoiler this because it might ruin your game. If you kill Ingward before getting the seal, there is a chance he won't drop it. And it won't be in the chest either, and it won't be in your inventory. You'll be stuck, with no way to get to the Four Kings. I need to find a hack so I can add it to my inventory, or start again.
Did you try refreshing your game and looking on the roof?
Yep, tried quitting and reloading. Tried the chest behind frampt Tried opening the seal anyway It's gone... :( (if anyone knows of a save editor, can you pm me a link. I know I'll get accused of hacking, but whatever, I'm not wanting to replay 40 hours again at the moment, when I've played fairly to this point. Only hacking in one item. Found plenty of "trainers" which give you infinite souls, but what's the point of that).
Damn, first time I've ever seen a Vagrant it ends up cheap shotting me in the back. Got killed by Havel and re spawned at the bonfire under the gate in Burg and as I was making my way back across the bridge I heard a noise behind me and got whacked in the back by a ranged attack. As I died the camera spun around and the bastard was standing in the gate doorway. What a great way to lose some souls.
This may seem dumb, but I don't get the humanity system yet. What exactly is the humanity in the top left corner of the screen and what is it used for, the one I get from enemies and the one in the stats. I don't get what I'm supposed to do with them. I do know that I can reverse Hollowing at the bonfire but that's pretty much it. Halp.
Anyone have any tips for killing those big knights with the huge swords, they rape me till I bleed (playing knight) Also holy shit [sp] I wasn't expecting the ground to fall from beneath me when I went back to the asylum[/sp]
you use it to be human and to kindle bonfires kindling bonfires lets you get 5 more flasks from them per rest/spawn being human lets you summon other players' signs instead of having to put yours down and wait (but you still can) having more humanity stored gives you slightly higher damage resistance and much higher item drop %
So, keeping Humanity in my inventory and not using it is a good thing to do? But how do I store my "held" humanity in the upper corner?
Learn to parry Seriously they're by far possibly the easiest enemy to parry in the game, dont think because they do really strong sweeping attacks that you can't parry them.
I never really tried to be honest, I saw that silent hill looking motherfucker start dragging his sword across the ground to swing at me and I shit myself and ran away
So, keeping Humanity in my inventory and not using it is a good thing to do? But how do I store my "held" humanity in the upper corner?
Go into inventory and use the humanity as item, the character will proceed to adsorb it.
I never really tried to be honest, I saw that silent hill looking motherfucker start dragging his sword across the ground to swing at me and I shit myself and ran away
Once you get it down those guys are nothing to be afraid of, also if you take them out you have a chance to get one of their weapons which is amazing throughout the whole game
A few people have asked for my key for this game since I discovered it was poo, how does this work? My key is registered on my Steam account, can I really just give my key to someone and it'll work for them? Any loss to me or my Steam account?
They download it through other means and insert the key when GFWL asks them to, hence why GFWL is bad because you can also use keys from Halo 2 and other live games. [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Also you're not at risk because nobody gets banned for anything on gfwl

-snip restart helped-
Well I never even registered an account on GFWL so I don't give a shit about that, I'm more concerned for my Steam account.
How did you manage to play the game without GFWL

It will be a terrible day, but it's pretty inevitable anyways. So... uh... wait for that to happen? Also that is a massive bug. And weird, too. But why'd you kill Ingward? Even if you still get the seal, that's potentially game ruining... he's the only one who sells an infinite amount of Transient Curses. [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Well I guess you could technically get cursed by a Basilisk and then fight ghosts, but Ingward might be the only one who can cure Curse an infinite number of times. (Unless the female Undead Merchant sells an infinite number of Purgestones... she didn't when the game released, but I think they might have patched her to have unlimited.) [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Which reminds me, I really wish this game had another option like Absolution that not only reversed sins, but also revived dead NPCs. Also I wish that you purchased Absolution from something other than an NPC, because if you so much as accidentally poke Oswald, you're fucked.

I leave my controller and go piss come back and at least 1 npc is dead. I learnt to pause/xmb and shove that shit in the cabinet when playing Demon's
I think I remember something about GFWL storing saves in a really fucked up way using your account ID and OS, it could be a bit trickier than opening an XML. Probably encrypted and can't do shit.
How did you manage to play the game without GFWL
Pushed the big red X on the GFWL popup when I started the game GFWL interface went away Dark Souls did not
why does blighttown have to be so dark can't see shit. [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Yes I'm aware that i'm complaining about the darkness in dark souls.

Is this game good? I've heard the PC port is awful.
Well, I'm back from my trip. And i got myself the PC version. Surprised i could find them in the shops, seeing that Amazon gave me a email saying that my order wont be delivered to September... And i really couldn't be bothered to wait that long. Now to install it and see what the fuss is about for Games for Windows Live. Edit: InstallProduct Error: 0x800710dd Wonderful. I have a feeling this will be a bastard to me.
With all the talk about the PC Version of Dark Souls I decided to start a new character on my 360. I've been meaning to play a strong magic build. What are some good items and tips for going for magic build?
Seems that everything is sorted out now, Used another installer on the disk (conveniently enough) and my product key has a Y that looks like a V. Very user friendly... Apart from those two things, its been next to painless. Could someone remind me why GFWL is such a pain in peoples backsides again?
