I don't even know why people are saying its a shitty port, the only problem for me is the fact that they kept xbox controller icons and woah holy shit i can still play the game.
I use a controller but that doesn't mean I haven't used the keyboard controls, they seem fine and everything is on the right side of the keyboard anyway so its not like its hard to use strong/light attacks and items since I've tried to do so and found it pretty easy.
Seems that everything is sorted out now, Used another installer on the disk (conveniently enough) and my product key has a Y that looks like a V. Very user friendly...
Apart from those two things, its been next to painless. Could someone remind me why GFWL is such a pain in peoples backsides again?
The only problem i've ever had with it is the fact that it requires updating when it seemingly does fuckall and the updates need you to restart your games/computer.
Also because they usually hamper paying customers by just being there and doesnt ban people using cheats or keygens and pirates just remove it from their game.
As of right now, it can be said the PC port is actually BETTER
If the controls don't bother you (If they do, just use a fucking gamepad jesus. Get a used one from gamestop for like $10)
But the DSFix patches that are community made actually increase performance and step up the resolution to whatever your PC can handle
So in short, it's much better on PC because of the community support
I don't think you can cheese Quelaag any more. You used to be able to hit her over and over in the chest with arrows to stunlock her, but it seems like she's got a period of invincibility after she gets stunned.
She's not super difficult anyways, but the cheesy method did make it go awfully fast...
Also I vote Iron Golem for easiest boss. In the Xbox version he fell off the edge like two seconds into the battle so I never really even fought him, but this time around I just hit his legs like twice and then he's stunned for like 30 seconds. :I
She's piss anyway, can back peddle at a slight angle and just avoid everything.
Every single person I've tried to invade so far has been cheating... This is probably what will kill this game for me pretty soon, I doubt FROM is going to even attempt to do something about it.
Do anyone at low level have a Titanite Catch Pole they can trade? I got the Fang Boar Helm from the boar, but I got unlucky with the first titanite demon. I'm trying to roll a mage, and I love that weapon to death. Though, Magic Estoc +10 does sound like a tempting option.
[editline]o[/editline]
Theres a bunch of titanite demons on the floor of sens fortress, i got 2 catch poles there (wearing gold covetous ring) from the 5~ titanites down there
I'm level 20
Automerge broke my post :S
There are around 5 titanite demons on the floor of sens fortress, the floor is tar so walking and dodging is harder, and oyu can pull 2 at once but you get a few more shots there. theres also a titanite demon in the catacombs and one in anor londo too

Pinwheel is by far the easiest boss. if you fight him after getting the lordvessel youre so over powered its like, a 10 second fight

I accidentally found out about Catacombs when I was dicking around in the cemetery after getting the lordvessel. I fell off the edge and went "SHIIIT ooh stairs" and then thought that Rite of Kindling could have been useful against, for example, Fuckstein and Cough.
Anybody around sl 23 wanna help me out with the capra demon?
Ahaha, holy shit just got 800k souls! So some guy invaded my neck of the woods (Forest Covenant) and I killed him thanks to that soul arrow forest hunter. Goddamn, most souls I have ever gotten and this was my first invasion I won too.
Queelag was about to be a disappointment when I got her down to 1/4th with a halberd and no preparation. Then I didn't notice her being over the spider head in time.

probably hacked souls. no reason anyone would be carrying 800k :/
On my first playthrough I somehow managed to pass the bridge successfully without killing the wyvern and it never appeared again. Now I decided to start over and I can't do it. I have to fight him or I'll be fried. The fuck?
Anyone know any good weapons to have before Queelag? Feels like I've been missing out on many since I'm still using a +4 halberd.
Kinda worried here, having like, 10 fps at the starting area and been trying to sort it out since i installed it.

The thing I do, is I just shoot a ton of arrows into it's tail.
I haven't ever been able to beat the Wyvern in a close combat fight.
Are there any new armor sets with the PTD dlc? I haven't found any information about it.

I got its sword and went to fight it on the bridge. I get majorly annihilated because he is very unpredictable and everything is based on luck. This is the most annoying fight I've ever had.
So at the Daughters of Chaos covenant, I accidentally said no to the thing guarding the path, now it won't let me through.
Bash 'im gud?
Any way to improve FPS?
It runs very well for me the first 15 minutes, then it slows down a lot, and then it occasionally gets back up to speed, quite annoying.
Quelaag's Furysword is so badass.

Quit and reload?
Bafhjbsad I hate the Titanite Demon in Anor Londo. It's such an enclosed area.

If you kill him he will possibly drop some vermifuge, and spawn a bunch of annoying maggots, but after that you can talk to the actual covenant leader and still join without issue, well i killed the thing and had the option to "enter covenant"

The ones in the tar pit in Sen's Fortress are the worst ones. I've killed them every playthrough to get Titanite, and damn it has not been fun. :v:

Well IMO they're at least manageable with the Rusted Iron Ring. Not a lot of fun, and they're a pain to get to, but manageable. The one in Anor Londo is just a massive pain in the ass because you can't maneuver, and all its attacks are one or two hit kills. Argh.
Oh yeah, and going through Anor Londo again... why is everyone always angry at the archers? Sprinting gets you past their arrows easily since they don't know how to lead their shots, and the only real trouble happens when you get up to the ledge and you have to be careful not to fall. But often, the archer will attack you and fall off himself, so it's not even that bad.
However... those fucking trident-wielding demon things. If we're going to get angry at something, make it those. The two on the tower before the archer part are assholes. Massive assholes. You can't block one without getting hit by the other, they attack you instantly, and they deal a ton of damage. I ended up just running past them this time around.
Let me ask you during your first playthrough did you assume the AI was stupid?
In all likely hood you did not and you tried just straight up killing the silver knight.
Chances are that in your first playthrough you just can't safely and quickly kill that knight leading to a lot of frustration and incredibly long walks.

Well considering on my first playthrough I farmed souls in the Forest by leading the NPCs off the ledge... yeah, kinda. :v:
But I can see where you're coming from. I mean, I do understand how they could be annoying. Very annoying if you don't know what you're doing. But the demons with the tridents are way, way worse IMO. No weapons available at that point in the game can kill them very quickly, and they'll murder you in a matter of seconds. It seems like newer players would be more frustrated by them, than by the archers that just require a bit of patience and AI exploitation to get through.
Well, I'm sure someone will make a full inventory editor at some point. It will be a terrible day, but it's pretty inevitable anyways. So... uh... wait for that to happen?
Also that is a massive bug. And weird, too. But why'd you kill Ingward? Even if you still get the seal, that's potentially game ruining... he's the only one who sells an infinite amount of Transient Curses.
[editline]27th August 2012[/editline]
Well I guess you could technically get cursed by a Basilisk and then fight ghosts, but Ingward might be the only one who can cure Curse an infinite number of times. (Unless the female Undead Merchant sells an infinite number of Purgestones... she didn't when the game released, but I think they might have patched her to have unlimited.)
[editline]27th August 2012[/editline]
Which reminds me, I really wish this game had another option like Absolution that not only reversed sins, but also revived dead NPCs. Also I wish that you purchased Absolution from something other than an NPC, because if you so much as accidentally poke Oswald, you're fucked.
I killed Ingward so I could join the darkwraith covenant early. I already bought a bunch of transient curses from him prior, and I can one hit ghosts (and groups of ghosts) with my fire Zweihander, so I'm not too concerned about losing him. Except for the fact that I am now stuck because the game broke.
Quelaag's Furysword is so badass.
It's good for PvE.
But I found that its not very useful for PvP.

Nonsense!
I would use Quelaag's Furysword all the time when invading Sen's Fortess! :v:
[sp]I was an asshole but good times were had[/sp]
