Dark Souls (PC/PS3/360)v2 - Prepare to Die edition. - Games

Started a new game in Demon's Souls. Went with Royalty. I think that's what I chose last time I played, can't remember. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] I'm going to see how much I can do without using a guide. Also, would any be interested in me doing a Let's Play of it?

Sen's fortress is weird, gives me a sense of panicking all the time, it just feels like a huge deprived labyrinth and that you're going to die from doing anything by some intricate trap. Bravo to the design of this place, it's much better than Blighttown, that place wasn't even close to hard, just a little annoying and it looked like shit too.

I have just picked up a bunch of red robes from blighttown and they are better than my wanderer armour just slightly heavier and weaker against fire.. yeah the crimson set is pretty good currently wearing the crimson chest and leg armor, along with the wanderer gloves and the gargoyle helm. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] also, can any veterans tell me how sunlight blade compares to darkmoon blade? i just finished forging my +15 uchigatana, but for it to be really useful, i have to buff it. i'm trying to decide if i should join the darkmoon covenant and work for the darkmoon blade, or just kill gywndolin and get the sunlight blade.

Darkmoon is stronger, With the darkmoon covenant/talisman it multiplies with your faith and your level with the faction.

Darkmoon blade with Ricards Rapier riposte is pretty much a guarenteed 1HKO to anyone.

my faith is 8 and intellect is 11, I'm lvl 34. Is it worth levelling them at all in order to use healing spells or anything? I'm thinking I should just stick with dex/str/vit/endurance

I got a similar problem of newbie minmaxing. Just wondering if it's worth joining a covenant when I'm hardly going to be able to use the miracles. Gravelord for the sword maybe?

Gravelord sword is great...for Pvp. that toxic causes people to panic a bit. of course, so does getting hit by a flaming pick axe for 1/3 of their health..

Guh, do you have to forward ports for online to work? I just joined the Darkmoon Covenant and tried invading like 6 or 7 times. Every time I got a "Failed to Invade" message. I JUST WANT MY SOUVENIRS OF REPRISAL FOR DARKMOON BLADE :( [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] Is farming for Souvenirs in the Painted World feasible? The wiki mentions 3.6% drop rate, but then says the drop rate was "significantly increased" in patch 1.05, but doesn't mentioned how "significant" the increase was.

You'd need a lot of patience. However, you can get up to two per game, so you could get the miracle and talisman in NG++++.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that my graphics card, the GT 520 isn't that good enough to keep the game at 30 FPS for all the time without it looking a bit meh. If that's the case, I'll still kick its arse. But I'll end up not bothering trying to go for all the achievements like before, Unless i bother buying a better graphics card in the future... Which no doubt i will, I dont like the idea of playing something in the Cry Engine 3 in about 15 FPS.

Ok this is the first time this game really fucking pissed me off, it doesnt even feel fair. Im at Anor londo and im going to the chapel, now the front doors locked and 2 sentinels there, killed them, then I go right and run to that narrow bridge while the 3 gargoyals just fall off, then run past the other 2 onto the narrow bridge going up to the side. Now heres when it gets bullshit, 2 black knights(i think) are shooting arrows the size of fucking spears from a bow and arrow the size of a car. Even in the stone armor set+Wolf ring+a great shield 1 shot knocks me so far I usually just fall off. So I try to get the guy on the right, but then the asshole behind me just hits me and I get knocked around so much I get stun locked and just fall off and die. What the fuck do I do here, bow and arrow/crossbow are out of the question, I went STR so my bow does nothing and I have a shitty short bow and no magic spears or anything.

Run straight to the guy on the right, forcing him to switch to melee. Worst NPCs in the game for me.

Port forwarding must be enabled on the UDP and TCP port 3074. Port forwarding must be enabled on the UDP port 88 Port forwarding must be enabled on the UDP and TCP port 53 Port forwarding must be enabled on the TCP port 443 and then 1024-5000 for UDP this worked for me, I still have trouble summoning time to time but I think thats just the game, but I can be summoned, and invade all the time.

Once close enough he'll pull out his sword so just roll away and back down the arch and he'll fall off himself. The other archer is easy enough to move past/deal with. Out of the entire game I still think that's one of the cheapest/most annoying parts.

Does anyone have any tips on the summoning failed? I could play with my friend fine like 2 days ago, but since yesterday we've been getting the "Failed to summon phantom" shit. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] Apparently this is happening to other people too, nvm.

What stats do I need to have to allow me to use the battle axe without stumbling after each attack, trying out a bandit character and bosses are hard when you stumble after each attack.

Just roll under the arrows. Now all you have to do is run back to the bridge and he will jump off himself.

The second screen shows damage, defense etc stats and it'll have the major stat requirements down in the bottom right. If one is red then it's too low to wield it properly.

Unless you have to stumble with the axe, the description mentions one wrong move leaves you open which makes me think its meant to be that way.

I haven't run into it when I've used the gargoyle axes though iir(but I never did use them much).

As long as you actually hit your enemies you should not stagger. So with the heavier weapons you do not get to swing them around willy nilly.
