33 humanity that isn't with Kaathe yet.
I already handed over enough humanity to Kaathe. That was just from that run at Sen's Fortress.
i'm not going to buy a 360 gamepad just to play Dark Souls, and I've tried setting the keybinds myself, obviously, but it doesn't even accept mouse buttons as valid controls...
You betray out leader Kaathe, you can never hand over enough humanity
I was a bit busy dealing with a phantom Gwyndolin at the moment. And besides, I'm sure Kaathe would love to have another Soul of Gwyndolin to put next to his other Soul of Gwyndolin. Thorny, the mouse 1 and 2 are set to be your right hand in the M+K set. So you best get used to it.
Got this game yesterday. So far, it's incredibly fun and satisfying. I just got past the 2 Gargoyles

There's still plenty of ways to make the keyboard controls better. Also you can rebind the menu keys.
I can't help but wonder if the port would have been more well received if it just flat out required a controller. At least then nobody would be complaining about the controls unless they couldn't get the controller to work. Not implying anything, of course.

I bought a USB 360 pad purely to play Super Meat Boy when that released. Since then I've used it with dozens of games that flat out work better with a gamepad. It was one hell of an investment.
Come on Thorny, it ain't too hard to get into the menu, especially since you can access it at the start menu. Or use a gamepad. Also, seems like a certain someone was hunting me in Sen's Fortress. How did some people get the fucking red eye orb at SL 11? Also whats a good build to easily and quickly get to the 4 kings while staying a relatively low SL. along with having the lord vessel.

On Xbox I got the Kiln open on a level 1 Pyro, some people have even been able to do NG++ and further.
I was once killed by a level 1 when I was level 152 :(
Fuque, caved in and bought the game. I have this controller somewhere, I hope it'll be a good enough controller.
Can you explain on how to upgrade pyromancy flame?
You can upgrade it from that guy you meet in the depths, he's stuck in a barrel and you need to break the barrel to let him out. He'll later be at firelink shrine and you can upgrade your flame by talking to him. Or you can join the chaos servants and talk to the egg guy to upgrade it. Once you upgrade to +10 or more, Quelana appears in the swamp in blighttown, sitting by one of those big stone pillars. She can upgrade it to +20. You'll need to ascend it at +15, but it'll reset the upgrade number to +1, it's kind of confusing. Ascend and upgrade to a pyromancy flame +5, it'll be as strong as a +20
Can you explain on how to upgrade pyromancy flame?
Sure, after you get one from rescuing Laurentius (unless you start as pyromancer, you'll still want to rescue him though), there's an upgrade option and you can just pay to upgrade it. It can cost a good amount of souls, but since you won't really be leveling up, that's what your souls will go towards instead. Once you get it to +10, Quelana will appear in Blighttown swamp, where you can buy some of the best pyromancy, and she can also ascend it to "Pyromancy Flame" which can be upgraded to +5. It's often called a +15 flame by players. Also, if you pay attention, you'll notice the graphic for it has a more violent flame in it.

Also, what are some must have spells if I try to do this? Im just worried about Anor londo boss and the 4 kings.
Holy shit, these fucking PC controls are gruesome.

You'll definitely have to join the Chaos Servants and give out humanity for some decent spells (chaos fireball and chaos firestorm). I'm able to kill drakes in drake valley with 2 chaos fireballs right now
invisible walkways are you joking
I just got the Lordvessel and I have used no magic or pyromancy whatsoever. I get the feeling i'm making the game harder than it needs to be, but my stats are a mess. I really have no idea what i'm doing when I level up, just put some points in endurance or strength and leave it at that.
oh my god oh my god i was just farming chunks to upgrade my balder side sword to +14 and i got just enough chunks to get it there, but i was like "eh i'll just kill this last darkwraith because fuck darkwraiths" killed it, it dropped a slab now i've got a +15 balder side sword to complement my +15 uchigatana. miracles DO come true.

Though the ones you'll probably be using primarily for PvE are Great combustion/combustion due to their speed and quantity. In practice it shouldn't feel too different from using melee. For PvP though, Chaos Fireball and great combustion are the shit. Fire surge is also extremely useful and you can even use it to lead your opponent in a certain direction and then peg them with a fireball. Anyhow, you pretty much nailed the ones that will probably give you the most trouble because they definitely did for me. O&S will require a healthy amount of patience for sure. I had success with Great combustion and combustion, whilst wearing a dusk crown and bellowing dragoncrest ring (these will become your friends). If you fight them solo they'll have less health. I suggest killing smough first. 80% of the fight is just killing one of them first. Four Kings is actually quite easy with the same pyro spells, but only once you've gotten used to the timing of their melee. Just stay right on top of them so they can only hit you with the hilt, and dodge side to side from their swipes. I suggest a fully upgraded crest shield to reliably block their magic attacks, though. And if you have a tough time with Seath, just combust the shit out of his chest. Eventually you'll probably kill him before he gets the chance to hit you with his curse beam thing. [editline]stuff[/editline] Oh and I almost forgot, some of the best weapons you can use as a level 1 pyro are the battleaxe, the hand axe (very underrated as well as underestimated), and reinforced club. It's also worth upgrading a light crossbow as it does a very nice amount of damage, but it's not very important and all and would probably only end up being a tool for pvp (though it could be useful in some PvE).
Wait wait wait, how did that happen?
I was just dickwraithing about in Sen's Fortress when his health bar appeared. Not sure what, but I decided to leave after 10 minutes of waiting for his pussy moon ass to show up. Guess he was still scared of the first fight.
[t]http://puu.sh/11vT3[/t] Your move dickwraiths.

I plan on going a high Dex pvp build for my pyro in the long run.
How is upgrading the Esotc? or is there another early game item I should get? Unless you want a lower level then just subtract from the three. From dex you'll get the benefits of high damage +15 weapons (if they scale well), as well as faster spellcasting. At 40 dex, the Estoc is tied with Ricard's Rapier for damage at +15. So for a rapier it's a pretty solid choice. You could probably put some resin on it for more damage if you so choose. Early game items.... There isn't too much I can think of right now that you would end up using in the long run but I find the dragon crest shield to be quite useful in the gargoyle fight as well as quelaag as it blocks a healthy amount of fire damage, both of which they deal good amounts of. [editline]i always edit my posts after i post them ughhghghghgh[/editline] Also if you don't know about the character calculator, it's very useful: http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/ Though it hasn't been updated for the new content/nerfs, so bear in mind that Lightning, Fire, (and maybe chaos) upgrade paths will deal less damage than shown, you also shouldn't enter the mask of the father or mother for accurate results. Dark Wood grain ring also only works at 25% load, and hornet ring adds 30% rather than 50% now, if you didn't know already.
Holy shit, these fucking PC controls are gruesome.
Not really, not for me at least, I never played Dark souls before this and I dont have a controller and once I set the sensitivty to 3 I play fine. The only bad part was getting used to controls when it came to menus and targeting with auto lock is pretty fucking bad since it jumps to the other 8 targets if I breath on my mouse, unless its like normally.
