The Zweihander is a good weapon to move up from the Drake sword, right? I've got the Knight's shield too, it's doing pretty well but is there a decent replacement I can get early?
Try the heather shield. It's the lightest 100% physical reduction, AND fast parry speed. You'll really want to get parry down if you want to use a slow weapon like the Zweihander.

I was using the Heater shield for a while but swapped to the Knight's shield pretty much because the stats looked better, never occurred to me I was looking at the stat for attack on a shield that blocks everything regardless.
So after getting killed about fifteen billion times by Silver Knights in Anor Londo I started using a tower shield after someone advised me to on the grounds that it would stagger the knights after they attack allowing me to counter attack safely.
Now I can't remember the last time one killed me.
I have yet to buy the PTD Edition. Does it really have many issues with AMD cards, as I have one and don't want to buy this game if it's unplayable with one.

Its easy to parry them and just stab them afterwards too. I just can't get the timing right on the bloody spear guys.
does anybody know what i can do with Soul of Sanctuary gaurdian?

Scary stuff
Silver knight straight sword can only go up to +5 normal upgrades.
Only +5.
fuck
would it be worth just doing it with a regular longsword?
Baller Swag Sword 420_xXXN00bPWNAG3360N0SC0P3XXx
But no, the Balder Side Sword is probably one of the best weapons in the game if upgraded properly.
You could just use Astora's Straight Sword or the Crescent Axe, or even Grant if you have the strength.
I'm having an issue with gfwl. When I start the game, it prompts me to log in. I do so, and it says it has to download an update. Gfwl starts to download the update and when it's finished it tells me to close the game so it can finish the installation process. I close the game but nothing happens afterwards, and when I start the game again it just tells me to update again. I can't play online or save the game because of this. Anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?
Oh, and manually updating doesn't work. Says I have the latest version.
Cartwheel skeletons can go fuck themselves

The Catacombs and everything in and below it can go die.
I mean, again.
I went through the catacombs before I went to blighttown, managed to get all the way down to the skeletons on wheels and decided I was going the wrong way, wasn't too hard honestly just frustrating getting past them to the sorcerers each time. The wheel guys are piss easy if you have a decent shield and grab them one by one, I didn't go far into the area though so I'm assuming you have to fight multiple
You can get through the whole of the catacombs in like 10 seconds with a shortcut anyway. :v:
found astora's straight sword, turns out i can't use it properly because i only have 11 faith and i need 14
You better start praising the sun then.
I've never felt the need to parry with the Zweihander, if you've got decent poise and good END you can pull off the heavy attack and stunlock enemies until they die.
On my dex build, on the other hand, I have to rely ENTIRELY on parries to get through Sen's, since one riposte with my rapier kills the snake things. :v:

The first time I went through the catacombs I was so fucking lost it's not even funny. I thought I was on my way to Queelag.
Agh, I don't know what spear build to go, any suggestions?
I was thinking about something like lightning winged spear +5 or lightning pike +5 with a 90 vitality, 40 endurance, 24 strength and 16 dexterity build.
Or something like the Dragonslayer Spear with 40 endurance, vitality, 40 dexterity, 24 strength and 24 faith with 6-11 points left over to put wherever.
This is for SL 120-125 for PVP mind you.
hey, i'm SL 75, where should i be invading? darkwraithin that is
i've had most luck in the painted world but i dislike the area as a host can just stand there and block the way up and spam lightning zwei/combustions without you being able to progress up
Try the new areas assuming you have it on PC.
If not your best bet would be any of the lord soul areas.
Just beat Kalameet and Gwyn today...
the credits made me tear up ;_;
10/10 game WILL play again
oh and for everyone saying they cant play this game with keyboard&mouse, i havent had even the slightest trouble other than trying to backstab the whole playthrough
Dammit, never had this much trouble with the Capra demon. Decided to make a fast, weakish character this time and was doing fine until Capra. When I finally managed to kill those FUCKING DOGS he was easy again. On my very first character (Knight) I got Black Knight Sword pretty much right away and could one-hit all the dogs away and even take some damage, but this time I couldn't do either. :v:

When it comes to vit, you might just be better off with the points being put into something to raise the damage of your spear and just wear a ring of FaP and/or mask of mother for an additional 10%. The extra vit won't really help too much if you're fighting one person and your weapon isn't hurting them.
I was thinking about trying the silver knight spear earlier as it has a longer range as it's held from the end, and it has a sweeping attack as well.
I might be missing something here, but what's with everyone building to apparently arbitrary level limits? Is it something to do with what kind of opponents you get paired up against?
I'm not putting much thought into levelling aside from what my next skill upgrade should be, I'm SL69 now and just placed the Lordvessel.

I just heard the Dragonslayer Spear doesn't bounce on shields and does the most Stamina damage out of spears so it interested me to fuck up turtles.
Also god FUCKING damnit, I killed that boss that gave me the blighttown key, go down to blighttown, fall all the fucking way down, "YOU DIED", lost around 40k souls that I'll obviously go and get back and I spawned all the way back to the tunnel in Darkroot Basin right before the Valley of Drakes, fuck, I'll have to run all the way back.
How is a faith+dex build?
I really want to try it my next play through.
Or how is faith+Int+Dex?
and what should I know about them.
That feel when I have brought down Super Ornstein to 1/20th of his HP and then he impales me.
