Managed to get through Blightown with my cursed 13 VIT but now Sen's Fortress is a terrible place. How do I get uncursed?
You can buy purging stones from Oswald, in the tower just past where the gargoyles were.
Karmic Justice is your friend.
Shit, yeah. I need to go grab that at some point. It'd complement my Fth/Dex (i'm so original) build really nicely. I've been thinking I want to try a Dex/Int build some time. I've never really touched sorceries, and I feel like I'm missing out.

Anyone else not think this game is as hard as everybody says? I'm mean sure, it's a challenging game compared to most recent games, but it's not "OMG HARDEST GAME EVER YOU WILL WANT TO KILL YOURSELF". I constantly got told about how hard Blighttown was, I mean sure, it was annoying, but not particularly hard if you prepared yourself before going in, Sens fortress too, all it requires is basic hand-eye coordination and timing to dodge the traps. The only place I really had trouble with was Duke's and that's just because I was a slow lumbering knight, and magic fucked me up a little. I just don't want the devs to get the wrong idea, as well as the consumers, this game isn't the hardest game ever, and that's not it's gimmick and shouldn't be treated as so, it shouldn't be praised for being a hard game, it should be praised for being a game with a lot of depth to it, a fantastic fleshed out lore and brilliant dark atmospheres that will immerse you completely. I thought this was just because Knight was easy, but I replayed as Thief, and apart from adjusting to dodging instead of blocking, still wasn't impossible. I see comments saying "I've been playing for a year and still haven't finished", I don't understand that.

I was thinking about either doing my faith build when I co-op with my friend, or just going as a regular elite knight. But I might retry magic.
Killed Gwyn via parrying. :v: Level 90, 42 hours. Think I'm gonna start a sorcerer character. Thought about wanderer but that would be pretty similar to what I was already doing.

Besides I don't think the devs ever claimed that, it's mostly gaming outlets/websites and new players iirc
God damnit, the way to Lost Izalith is closed, I assume I have to go to Sens fortress now. Do I really have to run ALL the way back through Blighttown to go to god damned Sens fortress and then head to Anor Londo? This game blows my mind with its progression, I never know where the absolute shit I'm supposed to go.
Picked it up again. Ran through some sewers. Found Gaping Dragon. Nope. I'm sure there's a tactic, but I ran up to hit it and he swallowed me and killed me. I only have 11 vitality for some reason. I'm not sure what I was thinking so now it's off to farm souls! What's a good vitality to stick at? I hate that it's more expensive to level up as you go, I don't want to fuck up my character.

Hell, what enemy rewards that kind of play?
I ran around for a while and it chased me and knocked down some towers so I ran to its side to see if I could hit it and I did and as I ran away (I was trying to learn what it does) it grabbed me without reaching out to me first (glitchy) and then ate me. "Run up to and hit" was the short version, chill your tits.

I prefer to stay at low vit, higher is really only useful for pvp. You can always find a chance to heal in pve. Also, when gaping dragon grabs you, you can escape faster by rapidly tapping block and regular attack.

If you just cant do enough damage, use a gold pine resin. The gaping dragon is weak to electricity, the dude that sells the crystal shit will sell you some resin.
Also if you keep dying to the tail whip you can just chop its tail off. Gives you an axe that you probably can't wield yet.
I have a bandit's knife and a Gargoyle's Axe. I also have the mega axes like Demon's Giant Axe (and mace?)
Was wondering if anyone was up for some forest pvp. If anyone is interested just send a me a message in Steam or Live. Also just looking for people to play with in the future. (SL85 apx.)

Welp, got the game and I'm borrowing a friends gamepad. Any tips before I jump in?
Shield up, and take the game one step at a time. Also, leveling up is great, but upgrading your gear yields better results.
Shield up like Xion said, but learn to drop it in between attacks so your stamina regenerates faster.
Well shit, the gamepad I am using his moved all the xbox controls one control counter clockwise
I tried going for the Four Kings before ringing the Bells of Awakening (although after killing the bosses). Everything went as normal, until I got to the big building where Ingward the red robe guy is on top of. For whatever reason, there was about 10 more ghosts than I remember there being, and they all appeared at once, and then there was two of those screaming ghosts (the one holding a baby with a reddish cloth) that all of a sudden started shooting lightning at me. Is this some kind of progression prevention to keep you from going too far without necessary tasks completed/items obtained, like how the Master Key can get you to Blighttown and Drake Valley at the beginning of the game, but have strong enemies that a fresh character couldn't possibly defeat in the way?
There were two female banshees under Igward? I don't think I've ever seen that before...
I wish you wouldn't fade out so fast after you help someone defeat a boss, and that you could do a gesture while fading out. I want to wave them goodbye :(
Nevermind, finally got the gamepad working correctly. Praise be to controller emulators [editline]7th September 2012[/editline] Decided to roll with a Pyromancer, they looked pretty cool
There were two female banshees under Igward? I don't think I've ever seen that before...
There's definitely one. Not sure about two.
I fucking shat myself when I ran into the sanctuary garden for the 2nd time. Well played From, well played.
I will try a new playthrough without leveling up or perhaps another challenge. Still have to decide.
