You call that backstabbing? First time I did that I was petrified at what I'd just done to the poor beast and had to lie down for a while to think it over.
Edit:
Revisited Asylum, got everything I wanted but I haven't fought the Stray Demon. Should I? and is using the barbed sword and shield worth it or should I stick to the Drake Sword?
Well... what weapon did you use that made you so petrified?
The Stray Demon would be worth your time, seeing that he always drops a Slab. You could kill it with the Drake Sword with some effort. Although it might take a few attempts. The Barbed sword could be a nice weapon to use seeing that its got bleed damage, but it might be something to upgrade first. Just to overtake the base damage of the Drake Sword.
Just a longsword, went right into the rectum. :(
Don't think I can upgrade the barbed sword enough to make it better than the Drake Sword so I'll give that a try.

I suppose a Zweihander isn't as horrifying...
The Barbed Straight Sword would reach 160 damage at +10, but then again. It does have bleed damage. And you could make it into a elemental weapon if you so desired.
Out of all the hours i've put into Dark Souls, I've never known that you can back stab Metal Boars before.
The later ones have butt plugs so you can't backstab em.
I have no idea what I'm doing, what stats to level as Pyro?
Some knight with a giant didlo keeps one hitting me, I do like 10 damage with my scimitar+4.
Not that tower, where you fight the Taurus Demon go straight on and go out to the bridge, instead of going the normal way just open the door opposite you as you exit to the bridge with the dragon to your left
I have never known a rage as great as the one Sens fortress has given me

You shouldn't worry about builds and stuff too much in your first playthrough. Hell, people have gone through the game as SL1. Just look at what each stat does and level up what you want (Resistance is pretty useless, though)
Also, your pyromancy attacks don't scale with any stats. The only way to increase damage on pyromancies is to upgrade your pyro glove.
B-But your Int scales the melee!!
I'm gonna go with a tanky build I found on the internets

Go for hard mode and grind then max out all your skills
I have no idea what you mean.
Look at this pimp.

Strength would increase your melee damage, technically resistance would increase your defense... but it's pretty much useless. Just increase your vitality and upgrade your armor/shield.
What sadistic bastard created the Capra Demon encounter? I can dodge the demon just fine but the fucking poison dogs keep hitting me mid roll, then they stun lock me until Capra tears me a new asshole.
And five minutes later the Capra Demon lies dead. That was intense.

Strength increases melee damage only for weapons that scale with strength. Likewise dexterity would increase damage for dex-scaling weapons, and faith for fth-scaling weapons, and so on. You've got to consider what gear you want to use more than where you put your points.
Is this stone knight set any good? Or should I continue to upgrade the elite warrior set?

Stone knight is nice but the stone armor set from the Royal Forest in the expansion is better, and it's pretty easy to find.
Sweet Jesus, I finally manage to get into the dlc, and even with maxed skills the sanctuary guardian manages to kick my ass several times, no amount of flipping and lighting can save me, I did manage to kill it with the dragon slayer great bow eventually.
I just found out two interesting things. You can actually see Manus, or at least his glowing red eyes before you fight him if you angle your camera right. Also, if you kill Dusk after you defeat Manus, Elizabeth dies too. Hmmm.
Are scythes any good?
Or can someone recommend a better weapon? I have a pick axe +5 currently, it serves me decently but I imagine i'll need to upgrade soon
I'm more of a melee/mage buiild (Not the best choice, ik)
I'd prefer something 1-handed because I currently have the spider shield in the other.
Has to be light as well, my character isn't exactly a tank..

The Astora straight sword is pretty good, the pike's also good too because of it's reach, the washing pole does the same thing but katana style.

The Uchigatana and Iaito are good if you're using a dex build.
Hm, i'll probably end up with one of the katanas then (whichever I can get first)
i'm going to post stats tomorrow actually, I've probably been upgrading my char all wrong since I have no idea what i'm doing
His stats are all over the place
Hopefully someone can give me some advice on what to put points towards
Iaito you can get from Blightown. You jump onto this little platform thing and there you go. To get the Uchi you need to either kill that one merchant in Undead Parish or join the Forest Hunter Covenant and buy it from Shiva of the East.
They have different R2s so choose the one you like. Iaito has a horizontal slashy thing while the Uchi has a stab.
Should I make my rapier divine, raw or just plus it up more?
If you have lots of dex, go for normal, if you have the bare minimum go for divine. At around 14-15 going the normal route the base damage will out damage the raw path. It might even start out damaging it earlier because of scaling. In the long run, normal > raw.
If your dex and faith are both high, go for whichever one you want. If you want to enchant go with normal.
Oh what the shit, the game kicks you to the title screen if your framerate isn't high enough.

Any other weapons people could recommend?
Edit:
Where should I head after killing the gaping dragon? Down to blight town or?
