Good on you
Gwyn's song makes me want to learn how to play piano. Problem is, you'd need four hands.

Oh damn. 1 new post took me to the Pinwheel-song and I thought it was the only one. :v:
[editline]1st March 2012[/editline]
I-I mean, what are you talking about?
Holy shit what
I just went silly havel shield pvp loadout, 2 handing havels shield, tried to do a strong attack and was surprised and covered in rocks and attacks did zip damage
holy shit
[editline]2nd March 2012[/editline]
then I realised it used 300 durability points

Yeah it does that. It's some kind of defense buff.
Also I just got to Ornstein and Smough at SL 1. Shit's about to go down.

Not true! It's very much possible to play it by yourself.

That guy has the sheet music available for download and a video tutorial that also has 50% speed.
Get to practicing!
The song that plays while fighting Gywn just feels so right. It is truly unique because I have never fought the mainenemy of a game with such a depressing soundtrack. The song is sad, like Gywn knows that he will eventually loose.
Also I like how he does not even speak to you and simply attacks you, like most of the bosses. It makes everything more creepy and serious.

A bit off topic but ah.. Does anyone else feel that the fanbase of Dark Souls in facepunch is somewhat.. Small?
Usually you get some epic soundtracks for a final bossbattle, I expected the same like in the previous boss battles. But it was so touching yet terrifying.

Yes, first of the game is on consoles and generelly most FP members see themselves as the PC masterrace and the game is quite different and not really your generic type of game for everyone.

Honestly, this thread is pretty prolific considering how much people post.
I agree, there was a time not long ago where the thread was really dead.
I'm barely at the beginning of Demon's Souls. by the time I get Dark Souls, this thread will be dead. :v:
Just beat Ornstein and Smough.
That is not a fun fight. Took me about an hour and I ended up doing it without Solaire's help. I'm probably never going to do a SL 1 playthrough again. :v:
I used the crown of dusk and bellowing dragoncrest ring, and spammed combustion at them with a +12 pyro flame.
My first playthrough is going along a lot easier now that I finished up Sen's Fortress. Pain in the ass area... either I was getting invaded, or I was falling to my death because of those swinging blades. The Ornstein and Smough fight was great fun, but easy because of the summons I had a long with me. I'm SL 62 right now, back at Firelink Shrine. I have my +5 SKSS, but I haven't put any points into the stat it needs for damage to scale, so I'll think of doing that now that I hit the stamina cap anyway. Health isn't really an issue for me right now anyway.

On second thought, I think I'm going to switch to a Lightning Iaito. I always liked the Lightning elemental.

You should have a vitality of 10 or less and always die when falling to Nitos chamber.
[editline]2nd March 2012[/editline]
Or can you even die from it? It took away a bit over half of my health and I had it at like 20 when I fought him the first time.
this past week i completed my new pvp build that is oriented for stealth invasions in sen's fortress/catacombs/anor londo
i use hidden body and chameleon to hide away and backstab people with my lightning +5 knife, i also have a parrying dagger at all times in my left hand that i use for direct combat (which owns) and i have a lightning +5 light crossbow
i've never had so much fun trolling people into baits, i invaded a host that had 2 phantoms, i had seen them enter the secret room with havel's armor, disguised as a vase next to the entrance
the two phantoms came out one another, i backstabbed the one behind and thanks to hornet ring he died in one hit and the second didn't notice at all so i simply backstabbed him too, the host came up behind me and as he tried to hit me i parried him and killed him in oneshot too

oh gdo what
Can anyoen give me some advice on how to use magic? What is it about attunement slots and those different kind of magics?
Finally managed to get to Tomb of Giants, just have Nito and the Four kings left. This place is really annoying, and quite scary...
On New Game+, and just wondering what is the best Anti-Curse Armor?

There's no reason to play them sequentially. The stories have nothing in common. If you want to play Dark Souls first and Demon's Souls second that's just fine.

Attunement gives you more slots to memorize your spells (in D&D terms).
If you have 3 slots, you can have 3 spells ready to use at any one time. You can only switch your spells around at a bonfire.
Also, Catalysts are used for spells, talismans are for miracles.
People say that Dark Souls is even harder than Demon Souls, although I have never played Demon Souls before due to the fact that it was not available on the 360.
I found Demon's Souls harder purely because there's not as much online activity anymore so you couldn't summon people for help on bosses and stuff.

I'd consider the entire fanbase of Dark Souls is small. I only know one guy that's actually played the game, and he stopped less than half way through.

Except for pyromancy. Sorcery and Miracles all take 1 slot but require other stats. Stronger pyromancy spells can take up more than 1 slot, but I'm pretty sure the strength of pyromancy depends on your pyromancy flame's level

I played through Demon's Souls without ever going online. I'm just stuck on the final boss.

i'd argue that it's more like gwyn's just wasting away, he used most of his essence to link the fire and to split amongst seath and the four kings, as well as originally dividing off some to create his immortal army. depending on your point of view, you could argue that gwyn's the real hero, and he sacrificed most of himself to create order and an independent world not ruled over by dragons.
then again, of course, you could argue that the dragons really didn't rule over them, they just didn't want someone else in nature to be [I]above[/I] them, which is human nature, really.
i'm still not entirely convinced we play the role of the good guy in this game.

pretty sure painting guardian gear is more curse resistant
but the armor you mentioned is better looking
my go-to pvp armor is silver knight chest, dingy skirt, havel gauntlets, big hat
gives me 56 poise plus i look awesome

I wanna get the most I can out of Demon's Souls before I buy Dark Souls.
Speaking of Demon's Souls, anyone know where I can pick up some lighter armor, or is there an item that can give me a higher equip burden or something? I wanna be able to properly roll around. I've only killed Phalanx and the Armor Spider.
