Can't you do the forest area and get the invasion tool that way?
How does one join the darkmoons?
Can't you do the forest area and get the invasion tool that way?
I suppose but the time it takes to get an invasion in the forest is pretty big, because it requires someone of a SL I can invade and them being human in the forest.
I've been consistently getting successful invasions with cracked orbs
Cracked Red Eye Orbs (and the Red Eye Orb, ofc) work on a very different set of rules than the Blue Eye Orb. The REO allows you to invade ANYONE around or above your level, whereas the BEO only works on people around or somewhat below your level depending on how many indictments they've received, etc. Combine those specific invasion parameters with the PC's low active population and it means that the BEO almost never works.

You [sp]Sign up to it on the altar just before the room you fight Gwyndolin in, you can choose to serve him or just walk in there and murder his shit.[/sp] You need the Darkmoon Seance ring though.
They'll probably buff on-back shields. And duel wielding.
The problem with on-back shields is that it would reward people for mashing r1 with huge weapons like retards because it won't be worth backstabbing them and more than likely you're not going to risk parrying them either because of the unreliable timing due to lag or just the simple fact that their weapons do a ton of damage and if you land a half parry, almost all your stamina will be gone, making you even more open.
It'd just make PvP into even more of a Zweihander/katana fest.
Anyone feel like donating some cracked eyes? :v:
Who wants to do some coop ~SL55 in the duke's archives?
I'm in the prison right now, using a ninja flip/giant's/lightning claymore build.
Fuck, for the last time, its not bad. I'm not getting any of these problem you guys claim you are getting. Twitching locking or fasting camera speed? I've optimized my sensitivity for it. Terrible menu controls? Rebind that shit.
I also encountered an honorable hacker on my twink yesterday in parish. I slaped him down to 0 hp and he ran off and dropped humanity and an eye of death.
Please plug in a controller and play the game with that instead of the KB&M and you'll see why it's suggested strongly every time someone asks.
Alright it's maybe playable if you struggle through it and get used to it after a few hours, but fuck, you're going to be much more comfortable playing with a controller.

If you're eager for PvP, just head to the Kiln and set down a Red Summon Sign. I got invaded and got summoned for invasion pretty regularly down there.

Yeah. Having used the keyboard out of curiosity... it's basically playable. But you are really gimping yourself by not using a gamepad.

I do that but only one person has been using it

You can try the forest if you're in the mood to get ganged up on, or the Burg if you're ~sl100-120

I've had no trouble with a Keyboard. Perhaps its because Ive fine tuned it but, please understand that I'm NOT gimping myself. I'm not going to go out and buy a stupid adapter, and controller just to have to adjust to it.
Keyboard controls are FINE if you tune it. Use what you want, but quit bashing keyboard if you don't have the patience to tune it.
I've played for 7 hours today. Killed a good few bosses including seath. I still have a lot to go and I'm already lvl 74 ish with 49 intelligence, 1 more and I can use the white dragon breath sorcery :)

You're gimping yourself.
Can you even walk slow with a keyboard or do you have to shuffle yourself along?
^That was a genuine question out of curiosity on the subject
You're gimping yourself.

You can if you hold a button, a la holding shift to "walk" in Goldsource games.
You're gimping yourself.

Yes I can. With even more precision.
It's possible to play with the keyboard just fine, but it takes a very long time to get used to it, and even then you probably won't be as good as those with controllers simply because this game requires a good amount of maneuverability, and a keyboard doesn't give you that.
Somebody help me with Seath, I'm level 58 on the ps3.
I will give you a bone

Also I'm cursed, so a purging stone would be great.
edit
Nevermind, I can't be human while cursed!
this gaem bullshit

Any luck on kicks, jumping attacks, backstabs on other players or PvP in general?
Any luck on kicks, jumping attacks, backstabs on other players or PvP in general?
Yep. Just requires timing, for kicks and jumping attacks.
Backstabs, I'm not sure how a problem would even arise, you just need to attack from behind.
Is there a way to undo curses in the archives or am I screwed?

Rare ring of sacrifice if you have one.
Rare ring of sacrifice if you have one.
Didn't think of that.
[editline]23rd September 2012[/editline]
Nope, that didn't work.
Backstabs, I'm not sure how a problem would even arise, you just need to attack from behind.
Just wait until you're invaded or try PvP :v:
Just wait until you're invaded or try PvP :v:
I have a twink. And I'm good at it. Quit assuming I'm some skill-less pleb who has no idea what I'm doing.
Rare ring of sacrifice if you have one.
Only works to save you from getting cursed, doesn't remove curse on death.
Buy a purging stone from the female merchant in the Burg Aqueduct or That red dude deep into New Londo. You can get them as drops from the maneater clams before Seathe too. You can also trade a cracked red eye orb for 2 purging stones with Snuggly, who's in a nest to the left of the hill at the north asylum when you go back. You have to drop the orb and reload to get the purging stones.
Jeeze, Dark sorcery is so OP
I have a twink. And I'm good at it. Quit assuming I'm some skill-less pleb who has no idea what I'm doing.
Oh okay you're good because you have a twink and you know how to use it. Cool. If you want to accuse me of assuming you're a skilless pleb, then I can give you reason to do so.
I'm simply asking how it works out on a keyboard because I know these things can be tedious to do on even a controller. And the "Just wait until you try" bit was the fact that normal invasions and a large majority of PvP are bullshit rather than anything skill-based. I'm not questioning your skill, and to be honest, I really don't care. If the keyboard works for you, that's great, but don't get pissy at me for asking a question.
But since you feel the need to be pissy, I can use the "dumb" rating too.
