I think I finally put together a build I can really settle on, everything else I've made so far didn't quite fit my playstyle or wasn't optimized well enough. Speaking about builds what's the lightest armor to get around 50 poise with or without the wolf ring since all my builds have had 0 poise.
I just realized I've never fought the Moonlight Butterfly.

Words can't describe how happy I was upon seeing skeleton wheels for the first time.
Or how happy I was when I got the shield.

With the wolf ring, the lightest way to hit 53 poise that I know of is with the hollow soldier waistcloth, and either the knight gauntlets or gargoyle helmet, both of which weigh the same. The two pieces of armor would weigh 5 units.
why is the multiplayer system in this game so fucking horrible
I've sat around Oolacile Township at SL120 and there's fucking nobody at all. Can't summon a friend of mine or anything, either. No fog doors, too.
That sometimes happens to me.
It just... stops working. Usually seems to happen when I go to the area with Chester/Artorias' and Kalameet's fog gate. Happens in the normal areas too, although more rarely.
I mean now I get fog doors all the time in Oolacile Township after restarting, but nobody ever invades.
Anyone I try to summon gets ' summoning failed' too. I've opened ports, so I have no clue what I'm doing wrong if I am.

Someone went into great detail here;

Are you playing on PC?
The PC version has notoriously terrible Multiplayer because of Games for Windows Live being a piece of ass-slime.

Yes.
We can sometimes play with eachother, but whenever we actually want to it seems neither of our MPs work.
Also, I found out today that the Abyss Sword or whatever it's called (zweihander +10, etc and Artorias' soul) has the COOLEST two hand R2 animation ever

Style > Poise
Style > Poise
Even better if you find a balance between the two, because then you'll actually be able to rely on your armor and not look like shit either.

Hollow soldier waistcloth doesn't really fit with anything except a hollow build
Looks fine with a few coats and chainmail.
Just bought Dark Souls for PC, and Windows Live is being a dick.
I sign in and then it says Windows Live needs to update, so I click okay. It then gives me an error message and suggests connecting to the Internet.
Anyone else have this problem or know a fix?
How do you scale up sorcery damage after hitting 40 INT? Am I missing something?
[editline]21st October 2012[/editline]
or do you not, it seems like it would cap fairly low which is why I'm curious
You can use the tin crystalization catalyst, but that halves the amount of casts you can use. INT also scales to a cap of 50 if you want to level some more.

But isn't is subject to massive diminishing returns past 40?
fuck blight town.
Go through the back way. With the Rusted Iron Ring and a couple Purple Moss Clumps, you can drastically cut down the pain/time spent there.
Also have a map. It should make things significantly easier as you know where you're going.

Yes, the only thing you really get for leveling past 40 int is access to crystal soul spear and white dragon breath. The latter isn't too great for PvP though if it matters, it has a relatively slow cast.
I think the reason why most people find S&O hard is because they lock on and they use shields. Locking on makes it harder to see both of them and doesn't allow you to run freely (and running around is invaluable for dodging attacks). Shields, especially in boss fights, rapes your stamina too hard to make safe counter attacks depending on your weapon and your END. Dodging every attack is much more efficient and can place you in advantageous spots as well.
A difference between to me compared to other people doing O&S is that I don't wait for them to come to me I come for them. Sometimes going on the offensive is much safer than the defensive simply because you can control where the fight takes place.
Really good tips there, thanks dude.
I had no idea what I was doing there, I was trying to block like a tank but also trying to ninja roll a lot. I guess I was being too cautious because I was aiming at killing Ornstein first instead of Smough.
which is actually totally okay as long as you keep Smough either far away, or within your sight.
Ornstein is a much bigger threat as long as you aren't braindead or fatrolling.
On their own, they're both piss easy. Ornstein obviously doesn't have 20/20 vision because he misses nearly every attack as long as you aren't a stationary object, and Smough is too fucking huge to keep up with you.
Paired together, they're pretty deadly. Ornstein shish kebabs the undead, and Smough softens up their delicious bones with some tenderizing.
Keep getting invaded by this guy who is using the calamity ring... he's streaming too, so I went in his stream.
I was the only person in there.
I feel bad. :v:
why would you ever use the calamity ring
i don't get it
