So here I am again at Kiln of the First Flame. Before I FINALLY proceed to New Game+ (and this time, get the dark lord ending), I have a few questions: 1) What is the level most people stop for PVP? Is it still 120 or has that changed? 2) I'm trying to figure out what stat I should pour the rest of my points into once I get 30 faith (for sunlight blade). I've narrowed it down to either strength or vitality; my manserpent greatsword has A rank scaling for strength. 3) Is it wise to just start NG+ because I get more souls from enemies, or is there a way to farm them so I can get to 100~ before starting it?
3) Is it wise to just start NG+ because I get more souls from enemies, or is there a way to farm them so I can get to 100~ before starting it?
Let me ask you this, do you have Dragon King Greataxe? or some sort of AoE ability? If not, I can't give any solid advice. Edit: Oh, actually, now that I think about it, when you start new game+ the regular hollowed at the steps above Firelink give like 360 souls each, the ones on the way to the Burg.
man i was away from this game basically since the month after it came out. (skyrim, i've got to confess.) i only ever got to blighttown before stopping, so i just decided to start a new character and work towards a suggested build. it's really shocking how much better i am at the starting portions of the game. i remember when i first started playing even undead burg seemed positively insurmountable, but now even with a completely fresh character i can steamroll it. feels good, etc.

Just opened the Kiln on my SL1 character! Now I can fully upgrade most of my gear easily. Going to hold off on killing Gwyn, though. It'll be fun invading people at the kiln, I can only imagine the satisfaction I'd get if I managed to defeat someone there.

[editline]9th March 2012[/editline] Just invaded a guy in Kiln who had a buddy stand behind one of the pillars. I wouldn't have known he was there except the guy kept trying to back up and put me towards him. Eventually I just threw on my Hornet Ring, ran past them both, then backstabbed his friend and gave the other guy a soul spear root canal. I love my build.
What system are you on?
Xbox.
Xbox.
I'll be in the Kiln. Prepare to be anally boarded, captain. [editline]9th March 2012[/editline] Or maybe come on something that isn't SL1 so I don't feel bad for winning. :< [editline]9th March 2012[/editline] Bahaha, indicted. Glorious.
Uh, I've got another character that's 61 that I tried to make just for PVP. You can summon me via dragon eye if that's the case.
what the hell...this guy invaded me and instead of healing himself with a humanity...he used a divine blessing. what the fuck [editline]9th March 2012[/editline]
Uh, I've got another character that's 61 that I tried to make just for PVP. I know your xbox name, I'll remember. If I do run into you, I'll probably get naked. Just warning you.
I somehow managed to beat the Belltower Gargoyles on my first try (Mind you, with only a sliver of health left). This game's cutscenes do an amazing job of making you feel like you're about to go up against a real challenge, and I love it.
This game's cutscenes do an amazing job of making you feel like you're about to go up against a real challenge, and I love it.
Gaping Dragon's cutscene gives that vibe.... but then you fight him.
Beat the game (again). I'm officially a NG+ player. The game now feels like WAY more of a challenge now and I love it. The game got significantly easier when I had to go get the Lord Souls but I love this level of challenge now... though I dread fighting the Lord bosses again. I've been farming Darkwood Garden now; been real easy. Most people that invade me either get lucky because I got mobbed by the (now challenging) NPC's otherwise it's TWO HANDED ALL DAY
Holy fucksticks, I just beat the game on my first character. What a game, man. I highly enjoyed the character I made, though kinda sad that I deviated from the original plan I had for her. I was gonna be pure mage (I'm laughing at that notion now) but ended up being a casting tank. Ring of Favour Havel's Ring Havel's Set - Legs Channeler's Legs Demon's Catalyst Eagle Shield +7 Not what I had in mind originally, but still effective PvE-wise. I've never won an invasion, though.
Full havel all day erryday. I just wish I could get that god damn Darkwood grain ring.
Full havel all day erryday. I just wish I could get that god damn Darkwood grain ring.
Dragonoid superior also I like how all resistance is doubled when you have humanity when in dragon form
UHHH?
For a second there I thought that was Xenon, but he isn't loud enough, and his microphone quality is garbage. Or is that Xenon? I can't tell, the voice sounds so bloody similar.
Just fought the four kings at sl44 with no armor and only in dragonoid form and only used claws and the knight starting shield, with no poise my fucking heart [editline]9th March 2012[/editline] its like the music is timed with your hyperventilation [editline]9th March 2012[/editline]

It CAN work, but it's really really difficult and not worth the time it would have taken. The thing with magic and casting is that you have to be VERY selective with it in PvP. You can't just cast, because then people will avoid it and backstab you to death. Magic is meant to compliment your melee, not replace it. I'd upload a couple of my PvP matches, except I don't have a capture card so they'd be taken with my iPhone. Which wouldn't be TERRIBLE, but wouldn't be great. If you want, I can still do it. At the very least it'd show you how to correctly use magic in a PvP scenario. [editline]9th March 2012[/editline]
Full havel all day erryday. His ninja is behind him, and if you attack the ninja shiva can't reach you. So kill the ninja quickly, loot him, then kill Shiva. Then go back to whatever covenant you were in. Just a word of warning, of course: People expect Havel's + BKGA or whatever you're using, so they know how to counter it. That's like the most popular build ever.
I started the game as a pyromancer, I only have fireballs so far and rang the first bell. Where can I get some pyromancy spells right now or do I need to rescue the pyromancer from the Depths?

But I've never made a flat up Pyromancer before, so I really can't say.

You can get to her if you have the Master Key. Other than that, depths it is. And as far as the melee thing, I also have a lightning spear +5, Enchanted Lucerne +2, and a Raw Great Scythe +3 but I don't use those as often.
Yeah, I know that you can get tons of Pyromancy Spells from Queelan and that other guy. But I thought there was still an earlier alternative to get some new spells.
Nope, it's all in that stretch of hell. Depths>Blighttown>Quelagg's I think that's where all the Pyromancy venders are.
makes sense, pyromancy came from bed of chaos
