I want to make a PVP character.
You guys got some mad good tips for someone like me?
don't be an asshole who uses magic
learn to riposte and backstab (riposting isn't 100% needed because it can be tough with the lag, but it's worth it on slower moving enemies or people who telegraph like crazy)
think your build through first, use a character planner or something
Is it possible to parry Havel?
I think it would be hilarious to parry that big-ass club of his and then dickstab him just to rub salt in the wound :v:

Magic is fine.
Dark magic isn't though.

I invaded a guy in the Duke's Archives with a phantom and they both used it. It was annoying as hell. I was a melee character so just to get close I had to take an absurd amount of damage, then they'd re-cast it.

That's a parry with zero tolerance for failure.
Fuck. I need to delete all my auxiliary characters and start a new one and keep rigorous track of where I am and what I need to do, because I start a bunch of characters, and then get to like, around the depths, start a new character, go back to an old one, and then forget where I was and just start a new character. It's a terrible cycle.

speaking of the depths
words can't describe how much I hate the depths
but I'd rather do the Depths 100 times than the Catacombs ever again
I've done the Depths so many times that I can pretty much speedrun it. :v:

yes, and it's actually not that hard with a medium shield
I've done the Depths so many times that I can pretty much speedrun it. :v:
Speedrunning the Depths would be incredibly easy. Sprint and jump down to the first butcher from the entrance, go down the hole behind him, run past the giant rat, slide down, fight the boss.
Of course, the channeler would still be alive...
I really want to do a Let's Play of this. I think I'll do a Let's Play until I die. It would be fun.

It might last five minutes... or five hours. :v:

I was trying to think of something else that would make it interesting and fun to watch too, but I can't really think of something.
Maybe I won't use a shield.
Anyone here play on PS3?

I do.

lasted 5 minutes :v:
Ok well not really, but I made it to the Undead Parish bonfire, and then got to that room with the two hollow soldiers and the 3rd that kicks open the door and I died.
No shield is fun.
Should I even bother uploading the video?
Yes. Upload ALL your attempts, or maybe a montage of your deaths.

And then I proceed to stream and beat half the game in 3 hours with the dude. Told you I could kill Artorias with no shield.
Attempt #1 of my Let's Die playthough is uploading.
Attempt #2 is being processed. I didn't actually die in the beginning this time.

An Ironman of Dark Souls? Good luck on Ceaseless/Bed of Chaos if you manage to get to those part's. (More so Bed of Chaos, Fuck that guy)

He'd have to do the glitch jump in archives to avoid dying to Seath, too
In loving memory of oscar of Astora, I'm playing through the game with elite knight set, crest shield and astora's straight sword.

I fought Ceaseless for the first time yesterday and had no problems with it. I figured it was going to be fire damage so I equipped the fireplate ring and tanked the damage. Whenever it bashed me I took a few swings at it and drank estus so that I'd be able to take the next hit.
I might have been overleveled for it (I was about 65 or so and was wearing the white knight set) but it really was largely a battle of patience.
Soloing Smornstein and Ough is a different story entirely however. It wouldn't be so hard to solo Orry last if I could get some fire damage going but as it is the battle drags way too long for me which means it's only a matter of time before I fib my dodgeroll and get buttstomped.

I got invaded and I accidentally hit Solaire.
I took it upon myself to use Solaire's armor and shield the rest of the game.
