It doesn't seem like anyone is interested in my no death/no shield playthrough...
I watched it all at work. I liked it :<
So I started playing this recently and I must say, even with extensive assistance from a better player Smough and Ornstein were the most difficult things I've ever fought in a video game. Can't wait for the next boss. :v:
Metal Gear Solid 1 final boss was my worst, I was alot younger though.
Did the unofficial level cap change? I've heard it's like 100 now.
Or just agro them all and hide to the right of the stairs on the forest floor with your shield up. The enemies will run off the stairs and kill themselves.
They really haven't fixed that yet?
Dark Souls - Let's Play a Cleric/Sorcerer Part 9 "Things are looking up for CommissionerOdo! I'm really excited about this one, I'm really getting used to the build! In this episode I take on Sen's Funhouse and move on to the Anal Rodeo. It's a bit of a long one but I was having too much fun getting used to this build to stop."
It doesn't seem like anyone is interested in my no death/no shield playthrough...
No shit, keep on doing it. However if you manage to get to duke's archives. You won't be able to progress without dying in Seath's chamber.
Rare ring of sacrifice. I'd say it's justified since the death is (almost) unavoidable.
Well, it's still a death. Isn't it?
Do you have any plans to do some of the optional areas like the painted world or the fight with Gwyndolyn?
I'm making this as complete of a playthrough as possible, I'll be getting most of the items and beating all the bosses as well.
Well, it's still a death. Isn't it?
I'd say Seath captures the player, and doesn't actually kill him/her. You cannot progress further without "dieing" there. Also, as mentioned before, you cannot warp from that bonfire as it is "disconnected" from the others, leaning more towards capture and not death. So, no. It does not count as a death in my eyes.
You can skip the seath fight, but it's REALLY difficult. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36fhLEcELVY
Did the unofficial level cap change? I've heard it's like 100 now.
You may have found out by now but yeah, apparently 100 was the popular Japanese meta, and since one of the arena brackets is 51-100, it's starting to become more of the norm.
okey doke i've got a folder on my desktop with ~50 new saves i bb glitched and transferred from my xbox fuck you from i won't comply to your rules i'll bb if i want
You can skip the seath fight, but it's REALLY difficult. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36fhLEcELVY
then he misses and dies
then he misses and dies
well i didn't say it was easy. the hardest part is the roll off the elevator [editline]24th October 2012[/editline] can't stop laughing [editline]25th October 2012[/editline] Found my first hacker. Yay.

OH GOD ARTORIAS IS RESISTANT TO MAGIC WELP you got me this far, int-bro
OH GOD ARTORIAS IS RESISTANT TO MAGIC WELP you got me this far, int-bro
The thing with a magic build is that you need to go magic and melee. Go get the Moonlight Greatsword and hold on to your butt
OH GOD ARTORIAS IS RESISTANT TO MAGIC WELP you got me this far, int-bro
I killed him with no shield and the Moonlight Greatsword. You can do it.
I killed him with no shield and the Moonlight Greatsword. You can do it.
Unless you have enough endurance to go across the screen twice, a shield isn't going to help much against Artorias. I tried blocking some of his attacks, but since he usually does strong hits or combos it just broke my block and I died.
I'm fighting him completely naked with a grass crest and giant blacksmith hammer. Wish me luck.

My guess it that you did it with a low, or un-upgraded shield.
JESUS CHRIST MANUS
beat the DLC, got all the items, got all the armor my impressions even though no one cares: these bosses are fucking insane, it's glorious. this is how gwyn should have been. I felt like I was playing DaS for the first time again. [sp]The Guardian's a bitch but not too terrible. They really did make it harder without the ninja ring. Artorias is so fun. And scary. Manus is a fucking asshole. And he looks like a Titanus Demon had sex with a monkey. Kalameet was easier than Manus, IMO. Still hard, though. And that Singularity attack would have been sexy if it didn't make my TV sound like it was making tea.[/sp] The best feature, far and away, is the arena. Now people aren't whoring for souls or indictions, and ninja rings etc. were nerfed. So now it's just people playing for fun. There isn't even a permanent leaderboard, the streaks reset when you log off/lose. Which means now we can focus on builds that might be a little crazy, but it's okay because we can actually use skill and not hope we don't get surprise raped by phantoms we didn't see. [editline]25th October 2012[/editline] also I need to make a new Iron Tarkus he'll destroy this arena
Well, I finished part 2 of my third attempt. Rendering the video soon (which will take like 30 minutes), and then I'll upload it (which will take a couple hours). I'll post the video tomorrow sometime. [editline]25th October 2012[/editline] Actually I might break the video up into two parts, since it's 30 minutes long total.
Once you get going this game is like electronic crack, I cannot put it down.
Once you get going this game is like electronic crack, I cannot put it down.
This is since Saturday.
This is since Saturday.
Yea I've done about the same, in about the same time I'm glued to my controller. Once you get to Sen's the game really picks up.
