Honestly, the only boss I found difficult after gaining access to the lightning weapons was Oreos and Smores. My Lightning Greataxe +5 just royally fucked over every boss afterwards.
Except maybe Gwyn. He takes less damage from Lightning.
Edit: Kind of makes me not want to play my thief character, actually. Since I'm going Lightning with him as well.
Fatboy Slim bugged me more than anything on my first playthrough. However I've managed to beat them on my first try in every other playthrough. What I can't stand now is 4 kings. Especially new game+ 4 kings. I have two characters stuck right before them and can't seem to win on either.
Every time I listen to You Died, I suddenly feel like playing this game.
My advice would be just to tank it with your best armor set and your strongest weapon, and heal whenever possible. Giant's set is pretty good for the four kings.
Anyways, it saddens me how little jolly co-operation action I get at my sl, which is 127. Maybe at Anor Londo every now and then, but thats about it really. :c

Fuck the Centipede Demon. Seriously, I am stuck on that shitty island and he is a bit too tall for my uchigatana to hit him after he lays the smackdown on me. Solaire sucks shit at the fight too, his lightning spears don't do shit.
If anyone on PS3 near SL 52 can come on and help me slap the shit out of him, I'm right next to the bonfire on the platform where you go down the tree branch and summon Solaire.
After playing Dark Souls for so long, Demon's Souls is surprisingly alien to me.
It feels a lot more "scattered" somehow, but it's still a lot of fun. Dragon enchanted weapons errday.
Seriously do people get kicks coming in with OP gear and fucking my day up? I'm almost out of fucking humanity now.
Yeah it's not too often where you run into a "cool" dickwraith. If I overestimate someone and can't switch to weaker gear I'll let them back up and use their flasks.
A decent spot to farm humanity is at the Sunlight Altar with a gold covetous ring; you just hop down the ladder, kill the 3 rats, and climb back up. Each run only takes a few seconds so it's a pretty efficient way of getting humanity. Plus it's very accessible.

Gah I don't want to warp out of here without killing the fucking centipede demon first
After watching some Demon's Souls PvP, I'm impressed with the animation. It seems more fluid than Dark Souls, in a way. That might be a result of the color/atmosphere scheme, but regardless, I like the way it handles. Sadly, I'll never get to play it.

Easiest set to use IMO (also because this was my Sl1 armor choice) is the Forest Golem set, you can find it by Alvina's bridge thing. But yes, Giant's Set works perfectly well too.
Your SL is a bit too high for jolly co-op, imo. Most co-op and online play in general tends to cap at 120-ish.

I tend to remedy this problem by invading with gear accessible to the level of the location I'm invading. That, or fighting with gimmick weapons.
I do usually win, still. But it's Dark Souls, humanity comes with a risk and a price. Deal with it.

Thanks, I'll try the Golem set. I know I've tried Havel's set before and it's worked pretty well but it just doesn't cut it anymore.
I wonder, for jolly cooperation, if I could make a PSN named "Non-Dickwraith" and become a Sunbro with Golden Hemmed armor (because it makes you look like the reaper) and just fuck shit up, how many people would love me :v:
Obviously would use Lifehunt Scythe, don't know what shield though.
Dark Hand
Dark Hand
I think I fucked up getting in because I talked to Frampt already because I totally forgot about the 4 kings having a part of a lord soul so I just said fuck it and went to Frampt because it was more convenient and New Londo was pissing me off.
I'll probably go with the Bloodsheild though because of bleed resistance

I'm just going to unplug my ethernet cable from my PS3 so I stop getting invaded by these Darkmoon assholes even though I'm being a cheap bastard by doing that :v:
Take off armor, equip your strongest weapon and backstab him to death.
TBH I've never understood why people suggest this. On my first character my shield and armor allowed me to block/take a few hits and without them I just died with the slightest misstep.
On this character, I ended up killing him with Pyromancy. Worked wonders. I actually managed to stagger him a few times with Combustion, which I didn't even expect to be possible.

Also, I'm working towards a dex/faith build. Specifically: 45 Vit, 40 End, 40 Dex, 14 Str, 14 Att, and 30 Fai which is supposed to put me at SL 120. It's supposed to be a PvP build and that's why I started it, but I didn't realize I only had a few days of Gold left. I'm going to work for it anyways since I might renew later on.
Which stats should I be pumping up first? I've just been applying points as the mood strikes me thus far, but I'm thinking maybe I ought to fill up Vit, End, and Dex first and then work on Fai. Thoughts?
Go for the stats of what ever weapon you need, then what ever faith you need for the spells.

I'm planning on forging Quelaag's Furysword, and then either a Great Scythe +15 or a Scythe +15 as a weapon for fire-resistant enemies. I've already got the stats for them, but I want the Wrath of the Gods miracle which requires 28 Fai... so should I work on that? Or does the extra damage gained from Dex scaling make Dex more valuable?
[editline]11th March 2012[/editline]
it just occurred to me... why don't i ever see more people using the elite knight set? it's easily one of the best sets in terms of defense and relative weight when it's upgraded. if all the stats on the wiki are correct very few sets live up to it.
Jesus, I went to the catacombs to get a skull lantern, since the area was fresh, after I managed to get one I tried to get out by just running through all of the skeletons but I was only going deeper (I'm not very familiar with the Catacombs.) I wound up going to the "Boss" there with a sliver of health and about 6 wheel skeletons chasing me. Luckily, Painwheel is hardly a boss.
Now I need to find a way out of here with no estus flasks.
Edit: Woo, made it to the bonfire.

I remember running there to join the gravelord covenant on a level 10 character. The run back was exhilarating.

Skull Lantern's right after Pinwheel's bonfire where you see Patchy again.
Have fun in hell.

I know, I'm using one to get a ring of fog.

Eh, it's not too late to get a Dark Hand if you want one. You can kill the Darkwraiths in lower New Londo and they'll drop them on occasion. It's one of their more uncommon drops but I've gotten two of them from killing maybe 20 of them, so it shouldn't take too long if you're wearing a covetous ring when you kill them or something.

oh. probably smart, getting forest kills is impossible now

Centipede Demon can be a major pain in the ass, especially the fact that you cannot freely move around the area because of the lava. I usually summoned Solaire and he distracted the monster. Meanwhile I always chopped his tentacles/tail. If you stand right under his chest, he cannot really hit you that well. I usually had the Uchigatana, it is a bad weapon for that boss.

I just dodged it until it was pretty much standing over me, then just slashed away and backed away when it jumped. It couldn't do shit to me for some reason.
easiest way to beat centipede is when you come in, run to the right. cross the little bit of lava to the big area. he;s easy to fight there.

I actually found it easier to just wait for him to come to me. A hard hitting weapon and a 100% physical shield normally did the trick. He was easy as shit to solo. :v
Hopefully my copy is waiting for me when I get home
How much should I expect to die when I am killed
It depends on your patience, honestly when I first played it I found the game not as hard as everyone said. The game is simply different at first, you have to get used to the mechanics because there is nothing like it in the gaming market.
If you rush through everything and want to go to point A as fast as possible without loosing time you will die more often. Usually I was frustrated in this game when I just rushed to a bonfire when I had to travel long distances and died because I was simply careless.
Most of my deaths are because I fell down a cliff or from a building, usually I die more often at Boss fights which is normal though.
Well... in my eight-ish hours of playing my new character I'm almost at the same point (and actually better in some ways) than my first character with some 23 hours of playtime. Experience!

Also, anyone know if Force scales with Faith? I haven't really touched it since I first grabbed it at 12 Faith and found its range utterly pitiful, but now I've got 18 Faith so I'm hoping maybe it isn't quite as useless...

Well my Quelaag's Fury Sword is fire, and fire on fire seemed like a no bueno. only other decent upgraded weapons were my dragon bone fist (lol) and lifehunt scythe, which did not a lot of damage
