My PS3 arrived so I can finally play Demon's Souls :) Specifically bought it just for this
Just beat the moonlight butterfly and I'm wondering if I should have a better dex based weapon by now? I got an ember thing for upgrading weapons and I don't want to waste it on the starting dagger, everything else I've found seems to scale with strength except for the bow which isn't melee.
Good dex swords would be rapier-type weapons, the Estoc, I think the Balder Side Sword favors dex as well and is a good weapon.

Actually, just get the Balder Side Sword. It's all-around useful.

Once you get to Anor Londo I'd go with a Silver Knight Straight Sword though, it's expensive to upgrade since it uses Twinkling Titanite, but a +5 one carried me to the endgame.

The uchigatana and Iato are really good dex weapons, they make a shitload of damage and have a bleeding effect, which just devastates everything.

I completely forgot about those, which is kind of bad because I'm using a +5 lightning Uchigatana at the moment.

Good to know, I was using the starting bandit's knife and I'm now trying out the rapier from the first merchant now that I know it uses dex thanks to dogmachines, till I find something else.
And I just got killed by a goddamn barrel in PvP, scared the crap out of me.
You can get an Uchigatana almost immediately if you kill that merchant, although that cuts off a major source of firebombs. I usually just buy a stack of 99 and grab anything I can't wait til I get to Andre to buy and then off him if I want the Uchigatana. The only other way to get it is to join a specific covenant and buy it. In my opinion it's better than the rapier. It has good reach and a fast attack, plus the bleed damage is awesome, which was mentioned by junker.
I engaged the Taurus demon once again in pitched combat. I had it down to 1/3 health left with half of mine and three estus flasks left. I was being careful and feeling confident...
...when the Taurus demon jumped off the wall to its death.
You Iron Golem'ed the Taurus Demon?

Man, I want next souls game to be as detailed as Demon's Souls. Just take look at wiki. Every boss drops a soul that you can turn into a miracle/spell/pyromancy/weapon so many choices and it's with all boss souls. In DaS not every boss gives you it's soul and if it does you can turn it into a weapon. I think only exception is manus' soul you can turn it into catalyst or spell.

The first time I fought him I got him to fall. I haven't done it since.
I finished the DLC area, it was so great to experience new content after all this time. They really nailed the atmosphere, it is mysterious and dark. The Abyss swallowing Oolacile looked amazing, also lots of secrets and bits of lore.
I just wished that they would have expanded more in the Chasm of the Abyss, it was really short yet an awesome place. Really creepy and scary, I wished that it was a bit deeper and that they would introduce the humanity sprite enemy later on, down below. Nevertheless I enjoyed it so much.

Shotel is hard to use as main weapon but as backup for people that use shield too much, it's great.

I thought it was neat how the sanctuary foreshadowed what you find down in the abyss

They also made the whole atmosphere darker and much more scary, which I highly enjoyed. The royal woods have amazing background sounds.

I especially love it when I did absolutely NOTHING to kill them. Usually it happens when they fall off the staircase in Duke's or die to channelers. huehuehue.
i'm at 114 indictions now. I'm in the top 150.
Ughh.
Anybody got any tips on how to make the fps more stable or at least make the game stop throwing me to offline mode? Because whenever there's a BIT of fps lag - "framerate insufficient for online play".
I wanna play with people :c
