Oh god, finally getting my hands on this in a few days. Can't wait can't wait can't wait. I know I'm going to be bad, but I'm excited to learn!
The most important thing about this game(from my experience) is learn game mechanics. And then you'll be a pro. Also don't use full havels armor if you'll find it, it's bad for your health.
What I loved about Dark Souls is that no matter how far I went in the game, I'd always be challenged, Unless you massively over level yourself (which is very hard to do unintentionally) the game will still stamp all over your balls and whisper dirty things in your ear.
If I'm doing a SL1 Darkwraith do I have to kill Smough and Ornstein?
If I'm doing a SL1 Darkwraith do I have to kill Smough and Ornstein?
Nope, just Sif and the Four Kings. Although it helps to go through quite a few areas to get decent gear.
Nope, just Sif and the Four Kings. Although it helps to go through quite a few areas to get decent gear.
Not true. Not sure about console version but pc Ingwad is bugged and wont drop the key on death.
I just realized my fatal flaw, I won't have enough money to buy Dark Souls due to me buying a new PC. I'll just wait til Christmas sales.
Its on sale right now though.
I'm trying to beat this game using only my keyboard because it's impossible to play with a mouse.
Correcto. Here's what I have my controls set to; W = Forward S = Backwards A = Left D= Right Space (tap) = Backstep Space (tap + direction) = Dodge Space (hold while moving) = Dash Shift = Left hand (shield or offhand weapon) Capslock = One hand/Two-hand F = Parry/Alternate offhand action Q = Interact E = Use item in item slot Enter = Start Up Arrow Key = Swap through attuned spells Left Arrow Key = Change left hand Right Arrow Key = Change Right hand Down Arrow key = Swap through items (these last few are on the numpad) 7 = Normal Attack 9 = Heavy Attack 8 = Camera up 5 = Camera down 4 = Camera left 6 = Camera right Hope this helps; it took me a while to get use to, but it gives both of your hands some space. Mouse controls still work; I tend to swap over to the mouse if I'm using a bow. [editline]12th November 2012[/editline]
Not true. Not sure about console version but pc Ingwad is bugged and wont drop the key on death.
It's only sometimes that he's bugged; if he doesn't then you can just swap out the residence key for it.
Not true. Not sure about console version but pc Ingwad is bugged and wont drop the key on death.
He's dropped it for me, no problem. PTDE on PC, I've never touched the console version.
He's dropped it for me, no problem. PTDE on PC, I've never touched the console version.
Then its half-bugged, because it does not drop sometimes.
I know...
Give me your steam infooooo Better yet just add me.
How much longer is this going to be on sale? thinking about getting this when i get paid.
Sure thing, are you looking for a fight? I'll fight you as soon as I buy Dark Souls (and level my character respectively). Though this game mainly runs on Live? Edit: Oh wow, thanks for the game, now to wait for new PC and snatch a controller from my cousin.
What a kawinkiedink, I recieved my copy of Dark Souls from a complete stranger too.
Maybe it's some type of conspiracy to increase the amount of new players for them to farm souls! O:
Or maybe the skilled players are running out of target dummies :u
Anyone know the item ID of a cracked red-eye orb?

That reminds me I really should play the DLC.
I started the DLC, killed the Sanctuary Guardian after ~15 tries, got to Artorias, and got my ass handed to me while doing ~30 damage per hit. I'm not going back there until my BSS is +15 :v:

welp, my Swag is now Ballin' at +15. I'm still farming Darkwraiths though, because they're fun to fight and you can never have too many chunks.
Where's your Havel's ring bro As bad as it sounds, it's hard for me to break the combo rings of ring of favor + havel's.
I've only used RoFaP on one character, and I regretted it. It's really not useful unless you're making some fatass tank because those are the only stats FAPring boosts, you need pretty high stats for the +20 percent to do anything, and you can't ever take it off. I sorta feel like once you get better at the game, you don't need to focus on survivability stats as much (VIT, END) and you can focus more on offensive stats (STR, DEX, INT, etc). Besides, having 2 ring slots you can switch out whenever you want is a HUGE advantage, at least in PvE.
Every PvP build I've ever made has the FAP ring. I hope the next game doesn't have a ring like it... if you don't use it in PvP you're at a huge disadvantage.

To me it just seems like RoFaP + havel is the way to go if you don't know what else to put and you're fatrolling everywhere.
Fuck the royal woods.
Fuck the royal woods.
It's not that bad. You can just avoid the stone guardians.
