Honestly I think it's going to be DLC because the whole "Dark Souls for PC" thing started around January IIRC, and I doubt they made a PC port quickly enough to the point where they're going to announce it now. If it were a PC version and there wasn't already some progress made, I don't see why they'd be generating this much hype.
Well Alan Wake was ported in only 6 months. It really boils down to how the engine was built.
I can't fathom there being an decent control scheme for a mouse-and-keyboard. People are just going to have to suck it up and buy gamepads.
It would work perfectly, but it would require a small alteration to how movement works. If you had a locked camera behind your guy, and your mouse movement simply rotated your guy on an axis with the camera moving as if it were locked in a position behind him, that would work a thousand times better than how it does in the console version. The level of control you have over your movement when your camera orientation dictates your move direction is obscene. I just hate the idea of having to use a controller again, whole time I was playing Dark/Demon's Souls I couldn't but notice how the entire control system could be better. Especially in Dark Souls where so many people use cheesy items and fish for backstabs, that ring that blocked lock on for example, made it so that you couldn't back away from an enemy without putting yourself at serious risk of a backstab. If your movement was locked by camera, that wouldn't even be an issue because moving backwards while facing forwards would move you backwards, and if you needed to quickly roll in a very specific way, you could quickly turn and then manually turn the camera to make alterations to the roll.
Aww shit i see the light.
Really hoping for some DLC with new armor and weapons. Really really really want some new armor and weapons. And new monsters. I want new everything.
If it's dlc or pc release, Either way ill be happy. But if it is both then that's just too good.
i want a pve mode i don't know how it would work, but I want it
The only reason I hate starting a new character is that I have to obtain everything again... I know there's the bottomless box glitch, but it's the miracles/spells that I hate having to re-obtain. If only I could just remove some soul levels from certain areas...
If you think Quelaag is hard, have fun in Anor Londo
Anor Londo was easy as fuck, died like 4 times in a row by the FUCKING archers though. And I suppose I had a little help with Timon and Puumba.
Anor Londo was easy as fuck, died like 4 times in a row by the FUCKING archers though. And I suppose I had a little help with Timon and Puumba.
Anor is full of slow enemies which means if you're at least half decent at dodging it's a cakewalk. Timon and Pumba can go fuck themselves though. I wanted the ring which meant I had to kill Smoug first and I didn't want to summon anyone because they might have done it in the wrong order. Winning that fight alone was rewarding as fuck though.
I didn't even mean to summon the sunbro, I was just practising invading, (Failed twice and afterwards never successfully summoned to another person's world) when I saw the sunbro sign, thought why not and summoned him. [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] He was mostly tackling Ornstein and aggroing him, doing not much damage to Ornstein but allowing me to rip Smough a new one, I THINK he was just distracting him and not trying to kill him though.

well got invaded for the second time on my archer, i died but managed to have a nice little bow fight with the guy. he poisoned me then toxic'd me, then when i accepted defeat and killed me, he threw down some of those path marker stones
Now with 4% more cracked wall. TB should post a video about the Dark Souls wall, since he seems to want a PC port as well. But then again, we aren't entirely sure if it's a PC port.
if its dlc, wont it have to be free? you see because if its not won't the people who buy it have an unfair advantage if some of the stuff in the dlc is better ?
Ordered this game today, will get here tomorrow, any advice for someone who hasn't played Demon's Souls or Dark Souls before?
Use a shield.
expect to die and don't feel down when you do also don't bother joining the princess guard or the way of white covenant, they don't really offer benefits (apart from a trophy / achievement)
Stay cautious.
Ordered this game today, will get here tomorrow, any advice for someone who hasn't played Demon's Souls or Dark Souls before?
Don't feel bad if you lose 1 humanity and 10k souls when you die. You'll eventually look back and laugh at how much you cared about such a small number. Also, don't take risks and proceed with caution. Being overconfident is what gets me killed most of the time.
Ordered this game today, will get here tomorrow, any advice for someone who hasn't played Demon's Souls or Dark Souls before?
Be slow, use a shield. Accept the fact that you will die ALL THE TIME EVER. It took me like 10 hours of misery and failure before the game suddenly clicked and I became much better. Now it's one of my favorite games.
Well I would assume they would balance the dlc.
Balance is kind of a joke in Dark Souls. Things have pros and cons, but you can easily make a build and get gear that is cut-and-dry better than anything else in the game. I really doubt they'd take too much care in balancing DLC. I mean, if it isn't better than what you already have, nobody would really bother getting it. Making it good but free is the best way to do it, in my opinion.
Don't feel bad if you lose 1 humanity and 10k souls when you die. You'll eventually look back and laugh at how much you cared about such a small number. Then get beat up on the way back, forget to heal and die to the short fall to Nitos chamber. Lose the 23 humanity and 400k souls.
also don't bother joining the princess guard or the way of white covenant, they don't really offer benefits (apart from a trophy / achievement)
I like the Princess's Guard covenant because of the Bountiful Sunlight miracle. I like to do what I can to help others when I'm being summoned.
I think I just broke 1 million souls. But I have nothing to spend them on. /Darksoulsproblems.
dung pies problem solved (but on a serious note, maybe you should buy lightning bolts/moonlight arrows or some titanite.)
spend it all on twinkling titanite [editline]28th March 2012[/editline] then become a fully upgraded black iron tarkus
i wish you could buy titanite chunks somewhere farming is the worst
kiln is the best for chunks, just use homeward after you kill the knights. Its pretty quick if you've got a strong weapon
spend it all on twinkling titanite [editline]28th March 2012[/editline] then become a fully upgraded black iron tarkus
Wait twinkling titanite can be bought? This is news to me. Leme' guess, the crestfallen knight? And I do use the black iron set, so becoming fully upgraded tarkus is actually a pretty good plan.
