if we are going to do this coop thingy i think i'm going to create a character based on Reah, start as a priest and put everything into faith and some in attunment, then heal like crazy
Can i get in on this Coop stuff even if i haven't got past Lordran yet?
I'm just going to make a character similar to my main character.

Lordan is where Dark Souls takes place.
Also, we would all be starting new characters.
Is there a Steam Group we can all go in to chat about this?
new characters facepunch coop sillyness
I'm in if it's on PSN
[editline]29th March 2012[/editline]
I could also make a steam group
[editline]29th March 2012[/editline]
[url=http://steamcommunity.com/groups/facepunchdarksouls]join it[/url]
If anyone bought this on Xbox they're a silly a person, that and it really only feels right to get it on the console it started off on. (Even if i don't actually own the first one)
Yeah make a Steam Group then post the name on here.
Got Dark Souls today.
Dat Taurus boss. I have no idea how to get that guy.
A Steam group might be fine.
It would probably be a more efficient and fast way of contacting us about playing.

He's easy.
[sp]Once you go through the fog gate, turn right and go up the ladder to kill the two archers. After that, just walk across the wall until the Taurus Demon jumps down. Immediately turn around and run straight to the ladder and go up it.
When the Taurus Demon is positioned in front of the tower, just jump off and give him a good poke to the head with your sword.
After that you just have to get really close to him and start pounding on him.[/sp]

[QUOTE=Viper202;35343720]How do you dodge the Hydras water shots? They all kinda lock on to you and they have a huge AOE and might as well instakill you.[/QUOTE]
Don't zig-zag. Bum rush it head on. The shots do sort of lock on, but if you just run straight at the hydra, they'll go over your head.
Also, use a good shield.

I ran in and stayed near the edge of the water. After I found where they'll do their melee weapon rather than the water shot, and just stayed there and whacked em after they attacked.
Just when i think i'm doing good i kill the Taurus Boss and then i got to cross the fucking bridge and i get instant kill by a dragon, fuck this shit.
Welp, my first char is going to be a pyromancer. Shit yeah

Lock on.
If you're seeing giant skeletons, you're probably going the wrong way, too.

Probably. I'm seeing them down by the graveyard in Firelink Shrine. It doesn't matter though. I just kicked their ass off the cliffs and I'm good.
Undead Burg is awesome way to get started.
And pyromancy can be aimed without lock on as well. It's just a complete bugger to do so because their trajectory is limp.
i just got to Blighttown.....any tips/hints on how to walk around this piece of shit of a maze?

Kill those asshole blow-dart shooters ASAP. They don't respawn, but they're absurdly deadly.
Also make sure you bring lots of moss. You can farm it from the ents in Darkroot. You'll also want to find the Shadow Set, which is located pretty early on in Blighttown. And you'll really want the Rusted Iron Ring, which you get by going back to the Undead Asylum.
As said kill those fucking dart shooters first. Getting and equipping the shadow armour would be your safest bet, heavy armour isn't very useful in Blighttown. Also an easy way to kill the dung golems is to just backstage them.
So can anyone help me with the 4 Kings? I'm a SL 63 PS3 player. Just post in here if you can help because I'm trying to get into the Darkwraiths but they are insanely hard for me for some reason.
How is the weapon balance in this game compared to Demon's Souls?

Also I have an idea for an Ornstein-esque build, it'd go something like focusing on;
Vitality
Endurance
Faith (>50 for the Great lightning spear)
Strength and Dexterity at minimum requirements for one handing the Dragonslayer spear.
Armour: Mix between Ornstein set and some other items. I take Giants helmet, and Havel's gauntlets.
Weapons/hands: Dragonslayer spear and talisman (Great lightning spear and Emit force)
Would it work :v:
Where is the famous box art armour set found?
This one:

Darkroot gardens, in the giant area with the Stone giants.

Didn't notice the pun :v:
I find it annoying how i died on that Bridge in Undead Burg and there was a ladder to kick for the Bonfire below the bridge, I'd seen ghosts/spirits of other players climbing up a wall, i never knew there was a ladder.
[editline]30th March 2012[/editline]
I'm assuming i shouldn't go anywhere near the Dragon at that the end of the Bridge?
You can get the drake sword by shooting arrows at it's tale which should help a little on the weapon side of things for a bit, and that's about all you'll want to do with the Dragon. You can make it jump down onto the bridge, at which point you can run past it into the tower place it's guarding, where there's a bonfire. After that just ignore it or kick its ass.
Yeah you pretty much want to cut off its tail and run past it once as there is a bonfire and a shortcut behind it. Best done when you aren't carrying souls & humanity as you will probably end up dying at least once.
As an added bonus if you cut off the tail it makes the dragon randomly not appear at the bridge. You can always kill him off for good later.
[editline]30th March 2012[/editline]
Don't worry too much about the dragon though. I only took care of it after I was level 70 with +10 equipment.
Also worth noting is that there's a great fire resistant shield in the Valley of Drakes which you can access early if you have the master key. Just head down from firelink shrine and there's a door you can open.

The additional Tower Knight is a nice surprise.
