currently doing a challenge playthrough no leveling starting gear final destination
record dat shit you will be FAMOUS
I for one have been around the neighborhood quite often enough to tell what is fake and what isn't. Even if you get a nice spot, I've memorized all the chameleon items in the big PvP spots (AL, DB, PW, Kiln, etc etc)
I tend to break whatever it is I'm disguised as and just stand over it. Or if the room is really cluttered (like some of the rooms in Sen's Fortress), I'll just stand next to a group of objects. But they still know where I am.
Just got invaded three times in a row in Anor Londo and got killed every time due to people who exploit the Bottomless Box glitch. If you invade people with high-level gear just for the sake of griefing, you are an asshole, cut and dry.
While it was pretty obvious that this series would continue... http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/dark-souls-sequel-confirmed Figured I would post that anyway just to confirm it.
More varied environments please. That was my main gripe with Dark Souls. And a PC release, of course.

But they still know where I am.
Well after someone may have been looking for you in hot spots (such as grand hall in Anor Londo) and see you're not there, they might just whack chameleon items (such as random pots in Anor Londo) for shits and giggles if they find you.

If you invade people with high-level gear just for the sake of griefing, you are an asshole, cut and dry.
Anor Londo is pretty late in the game equipment-wise. What high-level gear are you talking about specifically? - So I recently invaded someone in lower undead burg, first allow me to show off my awesome hollow thief RP build, copy+paste courtesy of http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/ : SL 35 Warrior Vit: 20 Att: - End: 17 Str: - Dex: 30 Res: - Int: - Fai: - R1/2: Bandit's Knife / Shotel L1/2: Target Shield / Parrying Dagger Armor: Hollow Thief's Hood / Hollow Thief's Leather Armor / Black Leather Gloves / Hollow Thief's Tights Rings: Ring of Favor and Protection / Hornet Ring Items: FUCKTONNA THROWING KNIVES, POISON KNIVES AND POISON RESIN Now, I invade this guy who has clearly bb glitched. He had full Smough's, he had a big weapon, and he was much bigger than "very slim". Unlike the previous havels/demon spear twink I just killed two times in a row because I'm the fucking KING OF PARRYING, he bows. I bow as well, thinking "why would I do this OP gear faggot's gonna backst" and then he starts dropping shit. Long story short we fuck around I darkhand way more than he does so I let him take some back and I eventually die when it doesn't do the grab. So I send a message saying "<3" to him for all the shit-I-already-haves he gave me, and he sends me this Anyone know what that means or what language it is? I'd make a thread somewhere but I'll probably get permabanned and have my throat cut. [editline]6th April 2012[/editline] WOW, that was Artorias? I thought it was some early Black Knight concept art what a fucking BOSS.
Anyone know what that means or what language it is?
Probably Japanese because this game is quite popular there as From Soft is a Japanese dev company
It's probably Japanese.
Doesn't look like any Japanese, Chinese or Korean I've ever seen.
You could just copy paste it from the message and try Google Translate on your PS3s internet fuction

He also had some crazy spells, one that shot these giant flaming swords up from the ground all around him, enough to fill up the entire room. I mean, he had enough armor to render a backstab from a +1 Lightning Spear almost useless. I get that a +1 Lightning Spear isn't all that impressive, but for that point in the game I probably couldn't have much too much better.

The upgraded bandit's knife, starting weapon for the thief and dropped from the hollow thieves in lower undead burg, could probably kill him in 1-3 ripostes/backstabs. There's also the Black Knight Greataxe, which can be found in the catacombs if the black knight drops it. If you're building dex, find a weapon with a bleed effect to quickly bring him down with a few well-timed combos. And can you describe his armor? Did it have a rock-like texture? If so, you can find that behind an illusory wall in the building past those FUCKING ARCHERS. It has one of the highest defense and poise rating in the game, so that's my guess. There's also the Giant's set which can be bought from the giant blacksmith in the same area.

Odds are he used the Bottomless Box glitch to give stuff to his lower level character. I wasn't building with Dex, I was tanking, while my friend was running a backstab build. We were in co-op at the time, and my friend's backstabs did a lot more than mine, but still less than a fourth of his health. An eighth, maybe. He also one-shot both of us, easily. I mean, most of the fight was just me running around summoning and re-summoning all phantoms in the area I could find and he was toppling each and every one easily. He was even doing taunts between each kill, or sometimes mid-fight, and he was totally fine. The guy wasn't even using a shield, he was just running around two-handing his giant ass sword. He also had this weird spell where he could breath crystal stuff everywhere, and he like, created these five white balls of light that homed in on us. I can usually place spells, but I have no idea what half this shit this guy was using even was. He wasn't using the Havel set, it was a lot slimmer than that. I really can't hazard a guess as to what it was. It had one horn on the side of his head, but besides that it kind of looked like the Stone Armor Set. It was also kind of hard to get details since he had a big red aura all over him.

Can't think of what that armor could have been, but I'd guess that it was the crystal set, as it sounds like he got that crystal breath spell from the Duke's Archives. Now finally, the last thing you typed explains why he was 1shotting everyone and taking so little damage. That red aura was Power Within, a pyromancy spell that greatly increases damage and defense, but it drains your health over time. If you see that again, just try your best to avoid them for as long as possible. Here's a list of spells for future reference, show help you out in terms of knowing how to react: http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Magic

It was that red aura that surrounds all of the dark spirits that invade. You know, how they're all red and shit? I looked at the wiki and browsed youtube and looked up some stats, and it looks like he was using one of the Great Heals, Replenishment, Wrath of the Gods, and Gravelord Greatsword Dance. Now, I'm sure he could have gotten all of this legitimately somehow, via a great deal of dying and grinding, but I think it's more likely that he made the character specifically for PVP, using the bottomless box glitch, and is just fucking about killing low leveled players.

Also if he wasn't taking DoT but had a red aura around him that increased his HP, chances are it could be the Red Tearstone ring which increases damage by 50% when HP<20%
I got in the darkwraith covenant legitimately with my SL35. You can do New Londo at the start of the game, no gold fog wall. Anyways, my point is, glitched or not, it's not too unusual for someone to have all that at that point in the game. And most of it doesn't really take all that much dying and grinding, just knowing where to go. But if he was using WotG and Crystal Dragon Breath, then I'm pretty sure that means he was on NG+, as I don't see any other way of getting those before O&S. Maybe WotG, but you'd definitely have to have gotten past O&S and Seath to get Crystal Dragon Breath.
I thought you had to place the Lord vessel to join it, but I guess I was wrong :v:
You can kill the sealer for the key.
the sealer is a bro, if you kill him you're dickwraith tier
I killed him in my NG+ playthrough as the first thing when I arrived in Lordran just to fight 4 kings before Taurus demon
With my second (Haven't completed my first, just waiting for a friend to catch up), proper playthrough, my Iron Tarkus is working out great, found the Black Knight sword on the second Knight I killed, EVERYTHING IS NOW A BREEZE

Okay.
It's quite a stretch, I know.
I was so sad when I saw [sp]Hollowed Solaire[/sp] in Lost Izalith. I didn't want to kill him, but I had no choice.
I'm about to go fight Seath the Scaleless. Is he tough? I'm wearing Black Iron armor, since I saw that it had decent curse defense in addition to good physical defense. Any advice? Any game-breaking secret I should know?

There will be this sparkling crystal, attack it. If you don't break this, have fun watching all the damage you do regenerate. After that, the key to beating him is the same as any other boss; memorize his attack patterns, and know which animation comes before which attack. If you see him charging up to shoot a motherfucking LASER out of his mouth, get in close and get a few hits in. If he's about to spin around and tailfuck you, get the fuck away from him. Also, if you cut his tale off, you get an amazing magic greatsword that can shoot green fuckbeams out of it. Go for it if you're building some INT. Has a STR requirement too though, but if you're wearing Black Iron armor then I assume you've got enough STR.
