Aye. Meanwhile, in the ticket stall next to the Daughters of Chaos' stall, tickets for The Furtive Pygmy: A Night To Remember (some kind of obscure comedy hour thing), haven't sold NEARLY as much. (let the lore tick over in your head...)
Finally got all the achievements for this game, might as well wait for the PC release now.

Only took me 154 hours and made me complete the game twice on a single character.
So, I'm a member of the Forest Covenant, but members of the Covenant still invade me in the forest? Why is that?
Are you sure they're not darkmoon blades?
oh god what just invaded someone who was AFK in anor londo
he had like 14 loose humanity on him
[editline]10th April 2012[/editline]
had is the keyword here
I feel bad for killing people when invading them, knowing that they have probably had a really hard time playing up to Sen's Fortress...
But I feel even worse when all I do use is the Dark Hand on them to steal what humanity they have already used.

Yeah man you're being a total dick by invading in Sen's, not the place for fair fights. And darkhanding people there is pretty evil too.
Nothing wrong with that though, that's what this game, and the darkwraith covenant specifically is about. So don't feel bad. I mean you're a total dick in the game, not as a person. When you're invading new players with full giants and a lightning weapon, THAT's just you actually being a complete cock IRL.
Because as much as I like to say that dying is a part of the game, dying is a part of the game but you're supposed to be able to learn from your mistakes, and eventually get better and overcome the various challenges, not get repeatedly killed by BB glitchers. I've played this game for hundreds upon hundreds of hours but I still can't pick up my longsword and warrior set and beat a player using havel's set, a family mask, a BGKA and of course the dwgr topped with a lightning weapon+hornet's ring combo.

Yeah, you're being a dick.
Seriously, Sen's Fortress is already a giant pain in the ass, I don't know why you'd intentionally make it that much harder for people.

If you don't like hard games, don't play dark souls. If you're human, then you're making it easier by summoning phantoms, you're invading others, you want to be invaded, or you haven't died since the last time you did one of those things.
If you're getting invaded, anywhere, then you have nobody to blame but yourself. If you can't deal with invaders in a 2v1 or 3v1 scenario, then fucking fuck, just play through the level solo. You probably need to hone your skills anyways.

Getting invaded by someone who is using traps to kill you =/= Hard
Generally invasions are unfair. Fighting an invading spirit is way harder than fighting any other type of enemy. Dark Souls isn't even that hard, it's just challenging, but most of the time when you get invaded it's downright unfair.
Also don't be an elitist about being able to PVP. If you don't have the right build and your enemy does, you're fucked. If someone invades your world with the serious goal of killing you, odds are, you're going to die.

No.
If you have any idea what you're doing, the invader is always at a disadvantage. You have estus flasks which take minimal time to heal you up, and the invader has to use humanity which takes ages to use. Also, you can always summon phantoms whenever you notice that someone is invading you.
Don't have a PVP build? Summon 2 phantoms so a 3v1 should even things out regardless of your build. Take note that not every invader is a god-tier PvPer either, and even if they are it'll be tough for them to lure you to leave your 2 phantom friends.
I always have the, "Well I'm an invading this guy and trying to murder him. I'm not here to bow," mindset.
I guess I'm a dick.

If you're not around summon signs you can't summon a phantom. Especially in Sen's Fortress. There are summon signs in the very beginning and the very end. Anywhere in-between and you're fucked. You seem to think that there are just summon signs all over the place. In any given area they're usually at the very beginning or the very end. Sometimes not even there, as you get to later places, there are fewer and fewer friendly summon signs.

Well, maybe it's just me, but whenever I get invaded and don't feel like dying to a dickwad I run all the way back to the entrance of the zone I'm in. Yeah, the invader can run behind mobs, but that gives you some sweet time to run back and summon some phantoms, heal yourself, and maybe gang up on him later. If you want him dead for good, you'll have him surrounded with your 2 buddies spamming wrath of the gods or chain backstabbing him. Sen's is not a place where you can maneuver that well either, might as well use it to your advantage.
Also, when you're invaded I think that the game allows you to see more summon signs than normal, at least I've noticed this. If you're overleveled as fuck in Sen's you should still be able to summon at least 1 phantom, and if you don't, well shit luck. Might as well run through it hollow, there's no point in being human in Sen's anyway unless you want to summon Tarkus at Iron Golem.

Yes it is, actually. Please back up your points. I'd like to add that watching two white phantoms play the game for you ISN'T hard.
Traps aren't on the invader's side. You can use them too.
Yes they are. Invaders can be anywhere from easy as shit to deal with(just flush np right?), or they can be harder than any boss. You're clearly biased towards invaders, and I'm assuming that's because you've been invaded by twinks several times. If it bothers you that much play hollow, offline or D/C when you get invaded.
Who the fuck has the "right build" at SL40 and below? Or whatever level you're doing Sen's at. These days I tend to win when I get invaded. It's all a matter of experience and skill. If you lose the "wahh someone invaded me I lose" mentality and get a "LOL THIS STUPID FUCK'S INVADING MY WORLD? PREPARE TO GET POUNDED INTO A PILE OF SHIT YOU WORTHLESS FUCKING CUNT." mentality you'll see that invasions can really always go either way.
Yes, the snakebros tend to welcome any darkwraiths that pass by. But have you ever seen your average white phantom take on one of those 1-1? It usually goes in the phantom's favor. So summon two people with the best gear you find and watch this man get backstabbed into oblvion. Don't give me that "summons are only here and here :(" bullshit. GO THERE.
Got a twink? Easier, he fucking sucks dick. Spamming spells? Roll and backstab. Swinging around any sort of weapon? Roll and backstab. He's BS fishing you? Go the opposite direction and backstab.
So basically you have to pull a "YOU DARE BRING LIGHT INTO MY LAIR?! YOU MUST DIE!" approach to invaders. Good to know, that way I can get defeated by the Wand of Gamelon whilst still being awesome.
Also, when it comes to PC, will anybody be interested in grabbing the Channeller's Trident and dancing in a loincloth, together in groups? It'd certainly be fun.
I know it seems like I'm coming off as a huge ass when invading Sen's Fortress, but the majority of the time I end up dying.
I'm not a "get best gear rape everything" kind of person.
I like to use the element of surprise. I'll wait by doorways and use poison/toxic mist to separate the host and phantoms so I can take them on one-on-one. I also have to strategically use Chameleon when hiding in rooms.
Speaking of Chameleon, I have a not-so-successful story to tell.
I was in my usual waiting spot (first treasure chest behind snake lady) with toxic mist ready. The host had only summoned one phantom, and the phantom was leading the group. The phantom was almost already through the door when I cast toxic mist, separating the phantom and host. The phantom was caught off guard and had no idea what happened. He quickly realized I was there and we started fighting. I managed to kill him really fast before the toxic mist went away, and I quickly threw on Chameleon and stood next to a wall. The host walked in and had no idea where I was. He walked past me and I rolled out and back stabbed him.
He ended up killing me but it's times like those when I can pull off a successful disguise makes me feel good.

Don't forget Xanthous Crown for extra ~swag~. I'd be up for it.
My current adventuring in dark souls is as follows;
I went down a lift after finally beating another dark knight guy, found a drake, fought it for a few minutes and ended up killing it. Ran out into a bridge and got some spider-shield and shitty armour, ran away from 3 drakes. Went round the side of the cliff and found another devious drake on the small path so I decided to run past it because fuck off am I fighting it on there and found a HUGE ass dead dragon... I proceeded to loot the bodies around it whispering 'don't move don't move', obviously forgetting the cunt of a game I'm playing, the fucker moved, hit me once, I ran.
Is it that hard to defeat the huge dragon? I'm currently past it in the New Lornado ruins or something like that feeling like I've skipped something important.
I also don't really play "dirty"
I won't just combo-hit whoever I'm killing until they die. I'll take one or two swipes and then back away. I feel like that means something.
Well if I do not want to get invaded I simply stay undead for that time. Sometimes I forget that I am in my human form and get surprised by unexpected visitors. I usually loose the battles because my character is not made for pvp.
I try to fight fair, though I always make sure I have my bullshit black knight axe if someone starts fishing for backstabs with their lightning rapier
Other people that have died that haven't been corrupted(?) by being hollow I think.
Essentially.
Like the OP said, you take on human form too.
It's a wonderful duality between love and death.
One darkwraith invasion, and then two darkmoon invasions in a row with a WSS.
This fucking game...

There's actually a cheap tactic to melee him involving you hitting him once and running away, repeat 20 times. Or you can just kill him with lightning spears / fireballs / bow or whatever without ever getting hit.
I got invaded twice in the ruins yesterday. The first time it was cool, we bowed and everything and I won fair and square. Then the second time I was getting raped by ghosts and the dude came in there and got the last hit and kept taunting me while I was dying. What a tool.
Anyways, I think invasions are generally fucking stupid and I myself would never do it. I can get the appeal of a fair PvP fight, and I've enjoyed the few I've had, but in general it's just a bunch of assholes with gamertags like XxXMLGPR0420XxX who act like the guy I mentioned above.
Usually when I get invaded I just quit to the main menu. Yeah, that makes me sound like a bitch, but so be it. I didn't sign up for that shit, I just want to fight bosses with other people.
After countless deaths I've decided to start over as a sorcerer, ranged can only be easier.. Right?
After countless deaths I've decided to start over as a sorcerer, ranged can only be easier.. Right?
Can be for some enemys, Such as the tower knights in anor londo. But its not allways a good idea to be greedy with soul arrows.
Oh, and if you get invaded, chances are you will die. Chances are that you wouldnt have enough time to cast anything when they charge straight into you.
So I just finished Deus Ex HR and I'm looking for another game.
Should I get Dark or Demon's Soul? Demon's Soul is the newer installment of the series right?
