I wonder how all of this ties into the existing world
iulhasdjbdwjab motherfucker i fucking hate gfwl well anyways that's not going to stop me from buying it, but hopefully they notice how many people hate the shit out of gfwl and switch to something less offensive.
Can't wait to see Artorias's boss fight, holy shit how cool will that be? More so, the plot seems to center on Artorias spreading darkness and you must stop him. What if you're a darkwraith like him? I don't want to kill Artorias, fuck The Age of Fire.
a bit of a long shot here but [thumb]http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/564618_305259969547054_119869331419453_757375_113075776_n.jpg[/thumb] could it be artorias the background is just dark, could be the abyss and artorias was the abysswalker(??) [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] god damnit automerge breaker
p sure it was established a while ago that on all the box arts the dude is Artorias
So will the PC version have an altered storyline or simply an extended storyline from the console versions? I'm not deep into the Dark Souls universe so I'm quite oblivious currently.

Well that just ruined my whole fucking week. I've been more excited for this port+content than ANY OTHER GAME RELEASE EVER. I was seriously prepared and planning to buy this for myself and three of my friends as soon as they let me. But with Games for fucking Windows, I'm not even going to touch this. I've bought Dawn of War 2, Section 8, and various other games that used GWFL. The number of those I've been able to play online is zero. I'm not rebuying this for the PvE. Not worth my money. Also not buying whatever specific computer hardware and software I need to use GFWL. Dark Souls is easily one of my favorite games. I would buy it for double the price if it was on anything else. I'd even deal with fucking Origin(as long as the game still has a main menu). But I honestly feel betrayed right now. It's like my two best friends were summoned into my game, helping me on a super hard level in a new DLC where I had all my souls humanity and save files in a bloodstain near the end, and then they turn into invincible red phantoms and backstab me off a cliff. I'm assuming that they barely put any thought into this and just released it on GFWL because it was the first option when they googled "how 2put game on windoes??", because in no situation would a semi-intelligent publisher/whatever choose such shitty DRM for their game. I really fucking hope they change this before release, otherwise they can say goodbye to half their sales.
Okay, I own this game on PS3. I put it down for a few months because of Blighttown [sp]I COULDN'T SEE THE FUCKING ELEVATOR ALRIGHT[/sp] When I came back to it recently I got through Blighttown, Wasn't that bad. Now I went and got the gold hemmed black set, Decent for right now, I'm only level 32. Is there anywhere I should go to before I got hit up Anor Londor (After Sens fortress of course) I've already gone back to get the Rusted Iron ring and The Doll for the painted world. Is there anything else
Still gonna buy it, but I'll just used a cracked version to play. I've had nothing but problems with GFWL. Every time I try to play a GFWL game now for some reason it keeps asking me to install Windows Live ID, which is already fucking installed and I uninstalled and reinstalled both GFWL and Live ID three times to get that shit working and I still can't play the games that use it (reason why I never played my free copy of Dirt 3 from my gfx card, and why I bought and then pirated GTAIV, Arkham Asylum and Just Cause 2) It's got a clunky as fuck interface, and the features of Steam are way better than GFWL and I'm probably going to have to run both at the same time if I actually play the bought version. It fucking deleted my Arkham Asylum saves when I updated it once, and it never lets you play an unpatched game and forces you to update before you can play (at least with Steam you can turn auto update off, and thank god Skyrim doesn't use gfwl). There's no anti-hacking stuff with GFWL so expect invasions to be unwinnable when somebody uses fucking cheatengine to hex edit infinite health. Why the FUCK do companies still use GFWL? I'd love to protest the service by not buying the games that use it but that doesn't work because devs just chalk it up to piracy and I don't want to scare other publishers from bringing console titles to PC.
I must be lucky, since I have never had a problem with GFWL. In both Dirt 3 and Batman, all I've had to do is press my account logo, and then that's that.
Oh hey everyone! I just heard about Dark Souls Prepa- Oh everyone is angry... *leaves*
You're insane if you're passing this over because of GFWL. Man up.
I've never had a single problem with GFWL, and I doubt many people here have, they're just rolling along in a stupid bandwagon. The way I see it is if you've had recurring problems with it fair enough, but if you haven't, and you're whining about it to "fit in", then you're a retard. Note that this statement is directed at those who don't bother buying the game or pirate it purely because of this, if you just hate it then fair enough. My experience has been this with GFWL titles: Launch game for first time, login, download profile info, update if it needs to. Any other time, home button > login > done.

It's not a bandwagon, it really is just a fucking terrible service. Just because you don't usually have problems doesn't mean you're in the majority.
Incredible reading of my post.
The way I see it is if you've had recurring problems with it fair enough
I've heard contempt for GFWL and its alleged badness, but so long as I don't get any problems with the game, I won't be too pissed. What are the exact flaws in GFWL, anyway?
i've never had a problem with gfwl other than that the interface is designed for console users.
GFWL is unimportant right now, Well not really, But I anyone for my question
Incredible reading of my post.
but you're still assuming most people are "rolling along in a stupid bandwagon" incredible reading of your own post
but you're still assuming most people are "rolling along in a stupid bandwagon" incredible reading of your own post
I assume that because it's probably true, what's your point? I doubt all it's hate comes from it being a shitty service when I know so many people that doesn't have a major problem with it. It's stupid and overblown.

Region restrictions - Some shit were the game just will not be sold in certain areas of the world basically forcing piracy, and we will hear the publisher bitch about piracy. 2. Save files corruption/completely missing - Was a pretty big problem for Arkham City...think about losing a Dark Souls save late in the game 3. Connection problems resulting in being unable to play/connect 4. Awful setup process. So many times have I personally installed a game and it installs an outdated GFWL which then forces updates and is just a fucking mess 5. Some weird ass login issues were it fails to connect and then basically you're fucked. I am sure the list goes on but those 5 are just problems I've had and friends have explained to me. I fucking hate GFWL.
Please, Can anyone help me, I'm begging. Ignore the lightweight, I see how it is.
Do I need to spoon-feed my post to you?
yes, because it still makes no sense who exactly is hating it just to "fit in". that's a ridiculous accusation. that petition already has like 3500 signatures, do you really think most of those are just people trying to "fit in"? even if someone hasn't personally had issues with GFWL they have every right to hate it because it's definitely caused problems for the rest of us. what the hell is the problem here?
Honestly, I've never had a problem with gfwl, and I've played plenty of sfIV:ae. So I'm really, really excited for this, I just hope that it runs well.

He's a pretty easy boss at any level and you'll need to kill him eventually.
I really dislike GFWL. It's obnoxious, it's inconvenient and convoluted as fuck; but you guys who are saying "I will no longer buy this, GFWL is a deal breaker." are the most awful of PC gamers. This is probably one of the coolest things to ever happen to PC gaming. A publisher says "we're willing, we just need a petition.", a petition is made and the amount of signatures is astounding. Instead of ignoring the petition and thinking of how to please the Call of Duty audience, they fucking listened and are porting the game because you asked for it. Quit being such entitled brats and be appreciative for what has just happened.

Hell, if one petition got them to bring the game over, chances are they'll listen to another if it gets enough hits. It's kind of entitlement to say you won't buy the game unless x, y and z, but what other way is there to change a developer's mind, other than not buying something? GFWL is shit, I literally am unable to use it, so I want it removed. Customers have a right to ask for what they want in a product, they're not forcing the devs to do it and are just voting with their wallets which is their right to do. If people were perfectly complacent with every product they buy there wouldn't be a need to improve it unless someone came around and made a better Dark Souls which frankly isn't a big possibility. I really don't like the word entitlement being thrown around, honestly, because it implies that the person who wants change "deserves" it when really they're telling the developers what they want in a product they may buy. They don't "deserve" a quality product but they deserve the right to at least ask and show their support with their wallet.
