did anyone actually have any trouble with the 4 kings, i beat them on my first go with 2 pieces of paladin armour fully upgraded, and 1 at +3, and a silver knight's straight sword at +5
I beat it on the first try, was kind of close at first. But they are pretty easy. Although I was like level 73 or so.
ok, so im about to Enter "Sen's Fortress" im level 33, got my Elite Knight Armour on, a Halberd +2 and drake sword +2,
ive been into the fortress before killed those first 2 snake guard guys (took a while) then i go into the big room with the swinging axe's and the snake guard on the bridge ripped me a new asshole!
anyone have any tips on how to handle this part of the game? do i need to upgrade a weapon more or something?
I would use a shield with a good amount of lightning resistance, then keep your shield up and walk toward that enemy on the bridge and try to get around her and into the next room. There will be a pressure plate that will cause arrows to shoot out of the wall when you step on it. If you do it right, you can step on it and it'll shoot the snake lady and kill her. Otherwise, you'll have plenty of room to fight her in that area.

your second is you need to get piercing weapons and a shield, and sit back and watch the snakes take hits until they finally fall down

Yeah, if he gets a little bit further in Sen's, he can get the lightning spear which is pretty awesome at that point in the game.
Edit: Just realized you were talking about the first bridge. The one I was talking about was the second one.

I had a Black Knight Sword +3 at that point of the game, so I killed the snake-dudes in 2-3 hits (depending if I managed to land a hit right after blocking them, thus causing more damage) and in 1 hit if I managed to backstab them.
Try to make the snake-feller on the bridge fall down by kicking him with his shield up. If you do it right, he falls down in 1 kick.
As for the swinging axes, you're going to have lots of fun with them later on in Sen's Fortress.
I remember when I first stepped foot in Sen's fortress
the fucking axes man THE FUCKING AXES
Then some nice fella had marked out where to stop with messages
just finished my first play through, was assisted for the last boss by someone else in full paladin armour, but sadly he died about 5 hits from killing the boss
So I got invaded today, and I summoned someone to help me in a panic and the Invader utterly murdered him. I then went up to him with my shield up and I was about to beg for my life but he dropped 25 sunlight medals and did some emote.
I went to bow and a huge fucking tower knight or w/e came behind me so I rolled of the edge by accident and he came tumbling down with me.
It was the best first experience ever.
Wow, that part with the painting guardians in Anor Londo on the beams gave me no trouble at all on my first playthrough. I've died three times there, now, with my new character. FFFFFFFFFFF
Uh, I've been playing New Game+, defeated Gaping Dragon again. I noticed something when I looked at the summoning-signs.
All of them have really fishy names like
j542_o1
ota4765_1
Or just plain numbers.
One of those strange-named ones invaded me, but I managed to kick his ass pretty easily, so I guess it's just people with some serious lack of imagination for their username? :v:
So, finally got to the Sen's fortress bonfire. (Wasn't that hard actually, I'm just a dumb barbarian)
You always should go to the undead asylum first to get the crest shield, as it gives 80% protection from magic damage. Those lightning serpents don't give me no trouble. I got the whole Catarina set because I'm a dumbass when it comes to avoiding damage, so might as well get more armor. :v:
Zweihander + 10, waiting to put it lightning. Just for the kicks. This weapon kicks ass with the strength scaling. (I know the weapon lose the scaling when it becomes lighting, but I don't care. I have other weapons in mind.)
I'm mainly working on a Strength focused build with heavy damage as of now.
I want to make a thief next because parrying and backstabs are just amazing.
Should I grab and upgrade any weapon if I want to be a Strength build? I've been looking around, and the best would probably be Black Knight weaponry. I'm not sure what to get. The Zweihander's been doing a fine job for now, though. I'm also upgrading my vitality as I go.
Is it just me or is Dark Souls way easier than Demon's Souls was?

I hear people say the same thing, but personally I've had more trouble completing Dark Souls then Demon's Souls. (Considering I have yet to complete the game once)
hardest part of my ng+ so far was them two dragon slayer bow knights, so god damn annoying
Just started new game plus and i'm destroying it. I got to the boar boss in like 10 minutes, swear it took about 10 hours of my first play through lmao

Demon's Souls had a few things that you can exploit to make it way easier.
The magic system is really overpowered. There were some bosses that were too hard to melee, so you can just spam Soul Arrows at them. In Dark Souls they put a limit on how many times you can cast a spell without resting at a bonfire.
And in Demon's Souls you could roll around with 100 or more Full Moon Grasses, but in Dark Souls there is a limit on how many Estus Flasks you can carry at one time.
So I have a talisman and a Soul Arrow spell but I cant use them? I have set it at a bonfire and its equip but when I cast with the talisman my dude just shrugs
You want a catalyst, not a talisman. Those are used for miracles.
The difficulty difference between the two souls game is pretty hard to pick and choose, which is harder. If you played Demon Souls first then you might feel thats harder because at the time, you werent as used to the style of gameplay in that game and by the time you get to Dark Souls, you have a basic idea what would happen.
As mentioned before, Soul Arrow is overpowered in Demon Souls and you could pretty much lame anything out by just spamming it and refilling your MP when you run out if you buy Spices from Blacksmith Boldwin (That is his name right?). So in a sense, Demon Souls is easyer. I'll probery end up playing though it again as a strictly Melee character.
Both are just as hard as each other for their own reasons. I cant decide whats harder.
So I love this game, but I'm stuck. I can't get through the dead tree, the mushroom men are literally too strong against me and no amount of blocking or positioning has saved me yet. I think I'm soul level 57 or so.

Well GOSH there was no indication of what to do :c

It is a lot easier if you just run past them. They aren't particularly fast, it shouldn't be too hard to get past them without getting hit.
Yeah, you generally don't need to kill them unless you are trying to get the enchanted ember.

If you're talking about the ones at the bottom, there's a narrow passage they can't get into. Go there, and use that as an advantage to make short work of them. May take a while, but it's easy to do without getting hit once.
I got bored so i made this.

Praise the sun!
I've been playing New Game+ until I got the key to Blighttown. Then I stopped.
I really don't want to go through Blighttown again.
Take shortcut through Valley of Drakes

go the quick way through it, means you don't spend more than half a hour running up and down it

The only problem I have there really is:

That first dragon on the bridge not letting me get to the bonfire to join the sunbros >:C
What an asshole

Just stand behind one of the walls in the middle and wait for the dragon to fly onto the bridge and run past him. It might take a second try if the dragon decides to fly up and pillar of flame everywhere.

Or you can just take the path under the bridge.
