What is this Mule you speak of? I've seen the word before but I don't get it.
Playing as deprived is fun :v: walking around half naked only with a cheap skeleton armor and some shitty club.

I'm interested in knowing this too
All right guys, I've started a new game since my last file wasn't going so well since I just sort of blindly leveled up and have managed to get into a number of difficult situations. I'm a warrior now, so do you guys have any advice on weapons? Like which ones I should upgrade and use? And should I focus more on strength or dexterity?
Man Invaders are assholes.
Like, I get if you like PVP. That's fine. But why don't you just lay down Red Sign Soapstone, so it's a fair fight? Or join that Path of the Dragon Covenant so you're at least invading for a reason other than for humanity, which you can easily get elsewhere? Or, hell, at least be a Blade of Darkmoon so you're invading people who deserve it more than others.
I'm just minding my own business, trying to get through a tough part of Anor Londo on my Mage, and some guy invades me, backflips to dodge all my spells, and then backstabs me and one-shots me.
Like, Christ, it doesn't make me mad, it's just annoying as shit. There's literally no reason to just invade people using the Cracked Red Eye Orb or the regular Red Eye Orb unless you're trying to be an asshole.
It is just part of the game. I suppose the biggest reason it is there is to balance being human, and being able to summon help.

but being an ass is fun, don't be human if you don't want to get invaded...

Give your stuff to someone using the bb glitch and they'll give you a shitload of souls or something, I dunno.
[editline]13th May 2012[/editline]
Someone linked to a thread about it in some Demon's Souls forum.
I can hit you up on my mule. Add me.
Alrighty, I'll probably add you later tonight when I'm more able to be uninterrupted.
I'm interested in knowing this too
Probably a character for storing items or something.
A mule is pretty much vital for making PvP builds quickly. I probably wouldn't be playing DS at all without mine.
Basically it's just a template character you can BB off of. It has 99 souls of every type, 99 of each possible upgrade piece (shard, chunk, slab, scale, twinkling, etc), and whatever equipment you BB'd onto it.
so you can BB a character and then use the souls to level up hilariously fast (99 great hero gives you something like 2mil souls), then use the slabs to upgrade your equipment to whatever. it's easier if you have a lot of weapons and armor on it already. plus rings and arrows and stuff.
basically i can create full, ready builds in pvp for burg in under 15 minutes. that's why the burg is so popular now.
Holy, How long does it take to get a mule?
but being an ass is fun, don't be human if you don't want to get invaded...
Except, if you're running a character build like a Sorcerer or something that needs help for certain areas, I'm going to be human so I can get help.
I just don't get the logic. Dark Souls is already a had game, so people go human to get help. Why would you punish someone for not being able to get through an area on their own? It's just adding insult to injury, and it's why the vast majority of Dark Souls players have reputations as jerks, regardless of whether they invade or not.

to make one takes like...four hours, i think. it's mind numbing, though. :<
luckily i got mine from a friend.

Holy shit, how does one acquire a mule?
all you need to know about mules is that if you can BB a character and you're on the 360, i'll make you one
add me (MrOlsonUCSD)
i'm done with finals by wednesday so i won't be on much until then
Just ordered this off Amazon and I'm pumped as fuck right now.
I had about 3 hours with the game at a friend's house and it was way too much fun to pass up. It should get here just in time for finals to be over, so it's more of a reward to myself.
I must acquire one of these, Mules.

A good buy, my friend.

Wow, how do you get so many soul items? Also, I just added you.
God I remember I rented this for my 360 once. Best rent I did ever spend on. I am pumped it is coming for PC. Gonna play the shit out of it.
I'm hoping the additional content that's on the PC version will come to consoles as free DLC or something. It's not that far-fetched, seeing as how the PC Version is a lot like a console port, it shouldn't be that hard to re-port the new content to consoles.
I want to meet Hawkeye Gough and fight Artorias and stuff, not just hear about it.
I think they're just not saying anything about it being DLC because it would steal the thunder from the PC debut.
I'm expecting they'll start talking about it after it's released.

Yeah, probably. They want the PC players to have their moment before they start giving attention to consoles again.
Also, I'm hoping the next Souls game, the one that From Software announced they were working on, will be a direct sequel to Dark Souls. It's such a rich setting with such good characters, I'd hate to see them just ignore it.

that would be great help i'll add you later
Made a faith dex build for using Ornstein's spear and sunbro lightning spear miricle, ended up catching up to my highest level in about 2 days. Started to pvp in the forest and got my ass handed to me by people in havel's in phantom and human form once I broke the covenant.
Helping people out in The New Londo Ruins. It's a horrible bitch having to use a transient curse every time.

It doesn't take long to release the floodgate, and with a greatsword weapon any ghost should die in one hit.
Once you've opened it, it's a pisstake to run through
New Londo is probably the easiest area and the easiest boss out of the Four Lord Souls you need.
I'd say the difficulty goes Tomb Of The Giants/Nito, The Duke's Archives/Seath, Lost Izalith/The Bed of Chaos, and then the easiest being New Londo/The Four Kings.
Although, if you're going as far as how you're supposed to, regarding quest lines, you should go Four Kings, Bed Of Chaos, Seath, and then Nito. That's the way the personal quests are supposed to go (Big Hat, Griggs, Siegmeyer, Sieglinde) and that's the way I usually do it.
They were all pretty easy, On my first playthrough.[sp]I was level 93[/sp] Haven't tried at all on my second, althou I am at the part where I have to.
I just killed all the NPCs for free souls and humanity, they come back in NG+ anyway
