I picked the ring that boosts your health because I read that you can now buy that key for 5000 souls.
It's a lot better to start out with the key in my opinion because you'll be able to skip the depths entirely, and you can also go straight to darkroot garden through the undead burg.
Not a big deal though, it's just a starting advantage.

Yeah, I think I'm going to do that.
I'd rather have the key + whatever else.
I think I'll just do thief, have the key, then do the black firebomb so I can kill that demon for his banhammar.
The ring will end up getting replaced really quickly it seems.
Female voices in my opinion are better than male ones because they don't sound like they're fucking orgasming when they get hit
I don't think class really matters too much, but I normally just pick whatever has the most points invested into what I plan on putting points into anyway, or has a low amount of points in skills I plan on ignoring entirely. Can't go wrong with a level 1 Pyro though, that's what I normally go with.
I like that noise........

The hammer is completely shit and you probably won't even be able to wield it until you're past Anor Londo
I already have the master key, I just got the bombs to deal with the first boss thing and the first black knight, who dropped the black knight sword. More damage than the demon hammer and it only needs 20 strength/dexterity.
Aw yeah.

Uuuuuuuuuum

Eh, I just think it gets annoying after a while to get cratered into the ground by a demon and sound as if your character blew his load every time he died or got hit.

Yeah, after you beat the Gaping Dragon. The Ring is useless, though. It hardly boosts your health, and an NPC just gives it to you for free in Anor Londo. The Master Key is the most useful gift. If you don't want to take the key, take the Pendant.

Lucky drop. The Black Knight weapons are some of the best in the entire game. A Black Knight Sword +5 can get you through the vast majority of the game before it starts suffering.
Why would you start thief if you're going to use the bk sword
hhhnnnnnggggggg i want to help

well actually if this is your first time playing its fine
if its not your first time you should know better

You usually can't say what random mob drops you're going to get when you start a character.
Besides the BK Sword takes high dexterity and the thief has high dexterity. He can still use it, he just needs to buff his strength up, which is a wise thing to do in the first place.
Also yeah it's his first time playing so obviously he's not going to make a character based around what sort of loot he's going to get. It was a random drop, and it's a fucking good weapon, he'd be dumb to not use it.
I've almost killed all the Lords and now I need to go after Four Kings but how the hell do I get past the New Londo Ruins? I have no weapons to combat the ghosts and I don't exactly want to be cursed either.
Transient curses let you fight ghosts. Female merchant sells them, so does Ingward. They drop often, too.
Usually I just haul ass and avoid them, but that's just me.

Ah so that's where you can buy them from. I tried the haul ass method but I was trapped and killed :(

I don't have the strength to use the sword yet, so I'm a thief using the Gargoyle Axe for now!
The Bell Gargoyles dropped the axe, the halberd(?) and the helmet. Lucky day lucky day.

That's all pretty good early-game gear, but for late game I'd start working to be able to use that sword, and then I'd upgrade it, if I were you.

Also, keep that Bandit Knife you started out with around. It does massive critical hit (backstab/parry) damage, and it does massive bleed build-up as well, which means it's really good for PVP and on bosses that take bleed damage.

I used the Halberd alot...then I met the Dragon Greatsword.
I'm starting to run out of build ideas. :<
Ive had some build ideas lately.
Death-
[Weapons] (Great Scythe +15, Pyromancy Flame (Poisonmist, toxicmist etc.)
[Equipment] (Ring Of Fog, Darkwraith Helm, Darkwraith chestpiece/goldhemmed chestpiece, goldhemmed Legs/Kirks Leggings
(KL If you know how to bug it out and make it completely invisible aka you have no legs.)
[Items] Poison Resin, Poison Daggers(chuck it at firetempester's)
Making new builds is always fun, although I really wish there were more than 10 character slots. 15 or 20 would be really great.
I did have a great idea about being a tremendous asshole. Stone Greatsword for fast TWOP casting, then cast acid mist, poison mist, and toxic mist. All your equipment is broken and you're taking 25 damage per second. And you can't run away. Bwahaha.
I just lost 7 humanity after getting swarmed by enemies and not having time to heal or room to attack. I know that rats drop humanity, but is there any other efficient way to get it (certain enemies, areas, or specific methods)?
Just beat the first Capra Demon. I hated it.
How do I get more spell slots?

The number of spell slots you have is related to your attunement. I don't know the exact amount you need for new slots, but you could look it up pretty easily.
Cool, thanks. I'll check it out.

Skeleton babbys in the Catacombs drop them a lot
But their attacks stagger you and make you toxic so use caution when fighting them
they're in the room with the pinwheel servants just before nito

I haven't reached that point yet. I've only beaten the Capra Demon (new character) and while losing the humanity isn't devastating, it would be nice to have a place I can have in my head if I ever want to find some more humanity.

Rats drop humanity, there's loads in the depths.
I actually finished the game. Praise the bloody sun...
Saw [sp]Siegmeyer[/sp] die for the first time in any of my playthroughs. I figured we were just going into battle together, I didn't realize there was any legitimate risk of him dying.
Needless to say, I was really sad for the rest of the night.
I could never see what happens to Siegfried, I always accidently attacked him before that particular room full of Dark Knights.
