Dark Souls (PC/PS3/360)v2 - Prepare to Die edition.

I just picked this up for PS3 and started playing as a Pyromancer. I still have Demon's Souls, but I picked this up for more multiplayer goodness.
Alright folks- posting my current build for your consideration.
STATS (lvl 30)
~26 VIT and END
16 STR
11 DEX
(The rest are bandit base stats)
My equipment usually-
Pyromancer's hood
Stone armor, gauntlets, leggings
Eagle shield
Darkwood grain ring
Havel's ring
(These two rings let me go the fastest speed with the most poise)
Drake sword
(I'm going to switch it out for a lightning claymore ASAP)
Then for Blighttown, I wear full pyromancy armor instead of stone
and swap Havel's ring out for the wolf ring.
C&C, folks?
I'm guessing that's for pvp?
Looks fine to me. I'd get me hands on a dark hand (second shield slot so you can parry. I don't think the eagle shield can parry.)
Also a spear or rapier generally flows better with a greatshield because you can keep the shield up and poke people. The lightning spear in sen's is a good option.

Also you'd get more poise and better weight with something like Havel gloves + legs + eastern armor.
I don't know about eastern armor for poise, but Havel's looks pretty good if it's not too heavy.
I'm not really using the eagle shield for parrying, it's good for me because it's heavy enough to stumble people who hit it.
Only reason I said eastern is because that + havel's gives 76 poise which is the breakpoint.
Just something to consider. Dark hand barely weighs anything so it's nice to have just in case.

yeah uh
unless you're planning on going with havel's ring/dark wood grain ring combo, havel's set isn't happening.
How is death handled in this compared to Demon's Souls? Does your health capacity still get ruined the first time you die?
When you die your humanity and souls drop. You can recover them by making it back to where you were.
Also, you become hollowed, which isn't all that horrible.
What is humanity?

I already have that combo! Right now it looks as though I'll just barely make it through the margin
with a few more points in endurance.
What is humanity?
An item you can consume to get humanity as a stat
You need the stat to be able to become human and kindle bonfires. It also increases drop rates, curse resistance and overall defense. Some covenants require you to offer humanity as an item to the covenant leader to gain ranks.
What is humanity?
Humanity gives you curse resistance and physical defense plus better drop rates
The more you have the cooler you are basically
And you spend 1 humanity to become Human, so you can invade/be invaded.
You also spend humanity to kindle bonfires so you can have more Estus Flasks (health potions)
Your health will only ever really be cut in half if you're cursed
EDIT: well ninja'd
I'm definitely getting this for PC then. I hated how you lost half your life when you died in Demon's Souls.

Do you not have a console? According to the devs it'll play much better with a controller, so if you have a PS3 or an Xbox 360, I'd recommend getting it on one of those. If not, I'd recommend getting a controller for your computer.
My heart sunk when I realized that the stone knights in Darkroot Forest weren't minibosses but regular enemies. Well, until I realized that they aren't that hard and can be avoided.
sens fortress is such a dick
Since E3 is rolling around, I'm hoping we'll hear about the DLC coming to consoles. EpicNameBro is usually pretty spot-on with his predictions, and he said that FromSoft will probably announce that it's coming as DLC during E3.
It could stay exclusive to PC, certainly, but since the console fanbase is basically the only reason FromSoft is as successful as they are, I can't see them screwing us guys over as far as content goes.

Easiest large enemies tbh. If you get slowed then just keep your distance till it wears off, other than that if you aren't constantly behind them then ur bayd

I have a console, but I'd much rather play it on my PC with superior graphics. I'll just hook up my 360 controller to my PC. Best of both worlds.
Can someone link to the "official" forum of wherever the muling thing started and was the most active, I can't handle this anymore and I want a mule on my PS3.

The graphics will stay the same in the PC version.
Except for double resolution and AA. Massive difference.
sp00ks, you are funny. Like in a lot of threads everyone disagrees with you or gives you boxes :v:
It's not my fault everyone else is wrong all the time.
Hopefully, I should be getting a new computer, so chances are i'll have a excuse to play this again on PC.

They said the graphical settings will be locked and will be identical to the console versions.
It's literally going to be playing a console game on console settings with a console controller on your PC.
Buy it for half price on a console, and then get the other content as DLC later.
I heard the resolution lock was just on them not upscaling the textures and that you'll be able to change what resolution you play on, anyway.

I'm fairly certain all of the graphical settings are pretty much locked. That's how they made it sound, anyways. They said you wouldn't be able to change the graphics, so.

Honestly the only improvement that I'm looking towards to is better multiplayer on the PC. Better as in less bullshit lagstabs.

Also even if you won't be able to change settings like texture quality or shadow quality I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to change resolution. It wouldn't make any sense if you couldn't.
