I've always thought of pyromancy more like a poor man's sorcery since you don't need to invest souls in intelligence to cast powerful pyromancy, just upgrade your flame every now and then.
No, it's more offensively powerful than Sorceries. If you use the Chaos Pyromancies with 10 humanity it can rival the Crystal Sorceries.
What happens when you upgrade your pyromancy flame? Increased damage?
I'd say so, yeah.
im fucking dtuck in the underground place, no light and giant skelly. soo iv stop. now i want to get back but i dont have the will for it :(

You can sneak/run past most of the skeletons and go straight for Nito without taking damage. [editline]20th June 2012[/editline] Unrelated: if you kill a boss in your world, could you still leave your summon sign to help other people with that same boss?
Yes, you can.
I want to get back into this, but my level 122 has fucked up stats and I really don't want to go through everything all over again.

That mouse looks so god damn generic.
It's part of their plan to get you to use a controller. :v: The mousepad is still pretty sweet, though.
http://gamingbolt.com/dark-souls-pc-requirements-revealed "Additional: Multiplayer requires microphone headset support" Interesting, Maybe your voice gets masked when you play as a phantom/sunbro/invader/whatever to sound like a ghost or a evil fucker?

I think it'd be strange to allow headset chat on PC, but they didn't want it on the consoles.

i'm not sure if this is the place to post this but whatever i'm currently playing through demon's souls, but i'm finding it really hard to enjoy. the small amount of fun i have with the game is quickly taken over by 'why am i playing this' i think i'm a decent amount through the game, seeing as i've beaten worlds 2, 4 and 5 and have just killed the tower dude and false idol on worlds 1 and 3 i'm determined to finish the game because i'm a stubborn moron but.... is there any possible way i'd enjoy dark souls? sorry for all the nerd words but yeah
if you don't like demon's souls, you're not going to like dark souls that said, why don't you like it?
i think it's because i feel it goes past 'fun' challenging and into tedium having to run through fairly long levels (depending on the stage) every time you die is annoying enough, but coupled with that every time you die you lose all your souls just makes me feel like i'm wasting my time also after killing all those head demon dudes, i've found all of a new sword (dragon long sword+1) and a new shield (dark heater shield+2), so the lack of new gear is also annoying because i feel it's always so cryptically hidden and that my character is gimped because of it it feels like this game is totally built for multiple playthroughs, but if you can't get through the first playthrough without some kind of guide on how to actually find worthwhile loot just makes me feel like 'well if i'm not enjoying my first playthrough, why would i bother with a second'

The world is more open and not cut up into sections like in Demon's Souls. There are lots of checkpoints placed throughout the world and there are many shortcuts to take. You also obtain an item that lets you warp to specific checkpoints for faster travel. About the armor gimp thing. Armor isn't really that important in the game. It might be later down the road when you're a higher level, but at the start of the game anything will basically kill you in one hit no matter what. Armor is really just there to aesthetically please you. It gives you a sense of "Oh sweet I just got this armor that gives me 1000 defense now I won't die as much!" but in reality, you'll still die a lot. The only two things you should worry about in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls is your weapons and your shield. I can't remember how it is in Demon's Souls, but in Dark Souls no weapon is "better" than another. Each weapon has its ups and downs. It's all about finding the right weapon for your play style. Daggers, spears, great swords, catalysts, bows, etc etc. Try to acquire one weapon of every type, and run around some low level places and see which one is right for you. Your shield is more important than your weapon. It can block attacks that would seemingly kill you instantly. Another big thing is your attributes. Putting points into the wrong things could cripple you in the long run. But above all... Prepare to die. Over and over again.
oh well, dark souls definitely does not sound like the game for me different strokes for different folks i guess, still might pick it up if i can ever get it for under thirty dollars or so out of curiousity

There will be no in-game chat. http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/06/21/dark-souls-pc-system-requirements-mic-needed-for-mp-render-eternal-damnation-on-1gb-ram/

This is just evil... I love it.
The community for this game is so fucking garbage most of the time, how is using the BB glitch to kill people well well below your skill and gear level in any way fun.
You just got killed by a BBer didn't you.
What gave it away. Anyway, can any other PS3 Dark Souls players let me know if they get input delay issues with attacks etc? I'm not sure if its the game or if my controller is just dying after 3/4 years.
