Why can't they just make it a FPS where you shoot rebels/EDF
It better be good :colbert:
fsgdgahd it looks like another "dark scary aliens" game
looks linear too
Have they actually said it's aliens? it looks like the creatures from the first game to me.
So now Red Faction has aliens...
i hate linear "oogie boogie" games :colbert:
Stop ruining all the games my childhood loves! You stupid mother fucking pieces of shit!
I agree with the black-outs, they look so stupid. But it's Mars, it has 1/3 Earth's gravity, shit which holds up buildings here will REALLY hold them up on Mars.
Yeah I know, and the materials of the future probably are lighter and stronger too. But having the buildings take so long to fall make destroying buildings in multiplayer little more than eyecandy, by the time you get something to crumble everyone will have left it by a long time. So they really should sacrifice some realism for gameplay this time.

What are you smoking? They look nothing like the mutants from the first game. Plus in the trailer you can see stuff falling from the sky, which is where I believe the whole aliens speculation comes from. I'll be pleased if it does turn out to be the mutants though, just as long as they don't ham them up. A side note here, I wonder if Parker's mining station will be in it. I'd get the game just to see it again, even if the game is shit.

Name a scary game that is not linear.

It better have all those Holes and tunnels I dug trying to get around all the ultor guys again.
I tried playing it as a pacifist a few times...

I assumed the shit raining down was an EDF bombardment.
Actually I guess an EDF bombardment would make sense. Since they would probably be pissed at the people of Mars for fucking up their huge space ship an' all it would be logical for them to come back and blast them to bits, which could be why they were forced back underground.
To post above:
NOW that's a good plot. Aliens don't fit into the RF games. And Geomod must comeback in this game, since it's underground. Where would you find buildings to topple?
Aliens? It's not RF now.
It was always about the struggles between factions - the workers and the leaders. Except Red Faction 2 but that was shit.
What worries me more is that these bullshit aliens will probably be the focus of that sci-fi series they were going to make, turning it from a possibly decent drama into another generic alien shit.
Unless it is just mutants, the it could be decent. It would make sense too, Capek's creations surviving in the abandoned ULTOR underground facilities.
We went back underground because of the EDF bombardment.
But when we looked for haven, all we found was hell.
We uncovered something.
The rumors were true, these things...
Mutants...
Guerrilla was an excellent concept with good execution, but it felt unfinished. Multiplayer got repetitive after a while and the campaign was mediocre.
I think I'll love this one, as they will hopefully learn from their mistakes and not go away from their roots with unnecessary decisions.
Well it actually doesn't look that bad. Maybe a bit generic but still worth to try out.
Although if the game gets linear that would kind of suck, because the free roam aspect in RFG was kinda cool.
Ok, reading through the official site we can come to the conlusion that it will be set a lot further into the future as the nano forge has been passed down several generations of the Mason family at this point and the story section ( here http://www.redfaction.com/#/story ) sheds some light on what is to come. It specifically mentions the old Ultor mines which leads me to believe that while scavenging Darius some how releases the mutants or something to that effect.
Since Capek's Lab was poking out of the ground in ruins at a point in RF:G it would make sense for the people living in the terraformed area to have fled into the mines and complexes underground immidiately surrounding the lab. One of the areas surrounding the lab was Capek's 'zoo' with all the mutants both roaming free and locked up. So if they were searching an unexplored section of the mines it wouldn't be so difficult for them to stumble upon the same way as Parker did in the first game.
Honestly, it looks like Dead Space... Although i hope it's good, Guerilla was good.
meh
it looks cool and all,but it turned too much into a survival horror like dead space from what i can see
