I have both Fallout 1 and 2...They were both included to my favourite gaming magazine some months ago. I think I should finally get around to playing them...
so, i'm at the bottom of mariposa, i've raped the lieutenant, got the key and the security card to initiate self destruct, but when i access the terminal i can only pick "exit Program" what's up with that?
Wow. So far my murderous retard has better equipment than my main character.
yeah
Dammit, Wish I could find my disc.
Okay, I fucked up and I need help. I seemed to have the oh-so-wonderful idea of giving my character 1 CH, and now I can't tell Harry that I'm a robot. I've ended up in Mariposa with Lou. Is it possible to kill him and continue the game or am I fucked?

so you're on a time table to finish a game so you can play a different game? where'd your life go?
so you're on a time table to finish a game so you can play a different game? where'd your life go?
haha yaeh ok you bash me... i don't give a shit. FYI i like my life and i do not usually play by program, but when it comes to a 2 months run of all black isle and bioware games ending it with Dragon Age, i believe i am excused for once in my life? and the timetable is only because i know i can make it, if Mariposa didn't blow in my face and not want to budge...

Then you'll be able to set the base to self destruct.
What's a good way for killing the super mutants guarding the water pump in necropolis?
What's a good way for killing the super mutants guarding the water pump in necropolis?
Depending on what your weapon skills are, an assault rifle can usually take them out after 3 bursts (my small guns skill was at 96 when I tried this). If you're an energy weapons guy, I've tried the laser rifle on them and that usually took 2-3 hits as well. Big guns, one rocket usually does the job.

For the Glow you get some great armor, especially if you just started out (brotherhood combat armor), and if you find the initiate and your karma is high enough, you'll get a set of power armor. If your karma is too low for the armor, you'll get a new weapon (also, on one of the levels of the Glow, there's a plasma rifle). If you don't feel like doing all that and have a decent amount of money, in the Old Town section of the Hub, there's a weapons dealer there that sells good small guns (assault/hunting rifles, combat shotguns, etc), and a few energy weapons.

as soon as you get power armor you are like superman, almost nothing can hurt you, other then certain energy weapons.

I also don't know where to get rad-x for the glow and the super mutant in question has what appears to be a gattling laser.
the glow quest is hard, but I got through it mostly unharmed.
hmm broken game, i'll replay it sometime later...
the glow quest is hard, but I got through it mostly unharmed.
I managed to get in and get what the Brotherhood wanted on one Rad-X and two Rad-aways. I came back later after I had the power armor and a lot more Rad-X and scrounged through all the levels.

Buy a few grenades, then a shotgun and a sniper rifle and their respective ammo. Go round behind the building, look through the windows, and start sniping (aim for either the head, or the legs to cripple) at the one with the gatling laser, he's the only real issue. He should take about three turns to get out of the building and to the point where you can't aim at him. Follow along the wall to the east and you should only have two super mutants coming after you which is easier than dealing with all of them. Just takes a lot of luck on your part. [editline]06:49PM[/editline] (use the nades on the big one if he gets too close, but note you'll probably take damage too) that shit took me like 7 tries and 40 minutes but I finally figured out shooting through the windows makes it a bit easier [editline]07:44PM[/editline] Also, does anyone know a place where you can store shit, or a mod that gives you a home or something? Because I've got a bunch of stuff I don't want to get rid of but I'd like to lighten myself up a bit. Also, anyway to check when something needs repairing? I've been wearing my combat armor a long time and I don't know how butchered it is etc
Also I just read about New Vegas and I'm slightly confused. Will it be like Fallout 3 or 1?
Same engine, so it's going to be founded mostly in Fallout 3. How similar it's going to be in the end is entirely down to how much influence Bethesda are going to exert on the development process. They don't respawn and NPCs don't take anything from them, so you won't lose your stuff. Weapons, armour and other equipment do not need repairing in Fallout 1 or 2. Nothing degrades: repair is used mainly for interacting with the environment
I hope Bethesda doesn't mess with it too much. I like Fallout 3, but I would also like to play a current gen version of the originals.

Are there any places that are completely safe (won't become inaccessible)? Like the Hub doesn't get invaded or some shit, does it?
Just make sure the container isn't in plain view of the people who own it (if anyone does). The Hub doesn't get invaded, so it's safe.
I store everything I need in the glow. :smug: No one but the manly-est of the manly go there.
in Fallout 2 you can just keep it in your car, in Fallout 1 I store stuff in the BoS bunker.
