I bought this a week or so ago. Not sure what I'm supposed to do after I get the water chip though.
You're supposed to go and kill the Overlord.
time limit sucks though
Interplay understood that and FO2 is (apparently) a much better game in every single way (I don't own it but probably will soon). [editline]07:36PM[/editline]
You're supposed to go and kill the Overlord.
And destroy the super mutant base
Been trying to force myself to play this game, although the combat system is gonna take a lot of getting used to.
The demo doesn't work. I get a black screen with and my cursor becomes an hourglass, then it crashes after ten minutes.

[editline]07:36PM[/editline] And destroy the super mutant base
FO2 has a shittier storyline compared to FO, but at least it has no time limit and a higher level cap. Also the fact that its storyline is linked with FO's, unlike FO3's.
there is a time limit in Fallout 2, but its a 15 year time limit so you should be good. and yes, these games are worth it, I played them for the first time this year and never looked back. edit: Fallout 3 is not a true sequel, Fallout New Vegas could be the closest thing to a true sequel.
I never played Fallout 1, because I heard that there's a time limit in which you have to complete the game.
uhm fallout 2 also has a time limit. Also i still need to try fo1 but as far as i've seen it sucks. When you choose female you get a male body. This alone is a perfectly good reason to think it sucks obviously. /sarcasm
No you don't? They use the same models as they did in FO2.
Are you sure? Well i guess something is broken then lol.
I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen.
sucks i can't take a screenshot (protected or something), but otherwise i could have shown you a male character with text saying it's a female.
try re-installing it.
sucks i can't take a screenshot (protected or something), but otherwise i could have shown you a male character with text saying it's a female.
Maybe you put too many points in strength.
Fallout 2 is a lot more open ended than any of the other Fallout games. Here is a snippet from the wiki:
I sold my body once. Got like 10 cash for it. Fucking ripoff man. What is cash called in fo2 anyway?
I sold my body once. Got like 10 cash for it. Fucking ripoff man. What is cash called in fo2 anyway?
Caps, the same in Fallout 3. Drinking Nuka Cola gives you a cap as well, I don't know why that was removed in Fallout 3 My bad it isn't caps
Caps, the same in Fallout 3. Drinking Nuka Cola gives you a cap as well, I don't know why that was removed in Fallout 3
Ummm, that still happens... Anyway, I have got to play these again, I wanna go and buy that box set of all three. Fallout 2 seems the best, then tactics, then Fallout. Not that any of them are actually bad, is this about right?
Fallout 1 is the best, Fallout 2 is in second best, Tactics third best and Fallout 3 is dead last. Fallout Brotherhood of Steel does not count as a game.

[editline]08:50PM[/editline]
Mods remove the time limit but the time limit is really long anyway. If you destroy the super mutant base before the 500 day limit is up then you can totally free roam with no time limit.
Brb reinstalling. I fucking hate time limits, I always feel pressured, even when the thing is incredibly long.
Caps, the same in Fallout 3. Drinking Nuka Cola gives you a cap as well, I don't know why that was removed in Fallout 3
oh i thought they didn't use caps in fo2. Must be confused with something else.
Heh, so apparently BoS is a bad game! Why so?
-You have 72% chance to hit -you missed -you missed -Lesser scorpion hits you critically for 8 points I'm sure I would love this game if it weren't for the combat system
-You have 72% chance to hit -you missed -you missed -Lesser scorpion hits you critically for 8 points I'm sure I would love this game if it weren't for the combat system
You don't need to fight everything.
It doesn't help when I absolutely have to and the majority of my fights so far have been hit scorpion once, take 5 steps back, let it move, hit it again, take 5 steps back etc etc.
don't hit it, just run, this is not a game for heroics.

VATS isn't in Fallout 1 and 2, just called Targeted Shot.
don't hit it, just run, this is not a game for heroics.
Yes but should I ever decide to kill anyone in a town (namely The Den's orphan's for stealing my shit) everyone either becomes hostile or run away, and while I am running away I have to wait for each and every single person in the entire West side to move before I can continue my escape. [editline]04:34PM[/editline] And what about killing the bugmen for Torr? You can't run from that or you lose possible XP
Heh, so apparently BoS is a bad game! Why so?
Because it's basically a shitty top view run-n-gun shooter.
