Well, I got a fair amount of my carpentry skill up this morning. Might start building a cabin after school.
I'm going to join up, if that's no bother, I'm signing up now as SnakeEye, when I'm in I'll get near the facepunch village and start teaching myself the basics, if anyone wants to lend a hand, I'll appreciate it, don't mind however.

I've downloaded it, but whenever I start it, it plays for one second then just closes, no error message or anything.

Goblins are pansies. A couple of decent swords and some armor, and they're easy to beat with very little fight skill.
Y'all youngins' shoulda been there during the gold1 days, when Facepunch made a town called Twinhills between two hills, and decided to go check the other side of th hill for loot. What we found was an abbandoned place called 'the Spiderfarm', and it was crawling with Spiders. FYI, the old Wurm Spiders were murder. They sneaked up on you, chased you for ages and killed you in two or three hits, and if you managed to escape wounded, you'd be a dead man walking, because the wounds were so severe that you'd bleed to death in an hour or so, and the cure for those wounds was hard to find and even harder to apply to the wound. People who survived a spider attack were pretty much revered as demigods.
Needless to say, shortly after we found the spiderfarm, Twinhills itself was infested by spiders, and the town laid littered with corpses of people and pets that got ambushed by those eight-legged bitches. The completion of the very first guardtower to protect the city was probably the single biggest accomplishment Facepunch ever made in Wurm.

I kinda recall there were multiple rendering methods, but I have no idea how to switch. Jogl and some other method, or something. Might make a difference, depending on what kind of gfx card you use.
Twinhills was the shit. First town I ever lived at and Scribbles pretty much taught me the basics.
