In every fps I look back WAY too often. I get killed from the front because I was looking back.
I know reloading already been said but I can't have an odd number of ammunition at all, I have to shoot and reload to have an even number.
If I know a gun has infinite ammo, I shoot everything and everywhere with it.
This.
If I'm walking around and there's no action I usually switch weapons back and forth really fast.
If I'm master of sneak on Oblivion I sneak everywhere. EVERYWHERE.
Reload constantly. I always horde supplies like the big guns for "when I'll really need it", and then never use it the entire game. Keep certain NPCs alive if they do kickass stuff, and reload a save if they die.
i always cover my cock in apple butter before i play
In an RTS, I forgot what it was, futuristic, anyway. I underwent a natural selection process with my troops. I separated the ones that did awesome shit against all odds and put them together. Called them 'Elite' and won the ongoing campaign with them. 3 enemy bases, lots of objectives. LOTS OF FUCKING ENEMY TROOPS AND TANKS!
I allways quicksave before entering a chat in RPG games. [editline]07:23PM[/editline] Also in games where you can jump, I allways manage to find some place to jump up where I am not supposed to be.
I always kill an enemy, and then narrate his last words. Then I shoot him and turn him into a fucking red piece of art. *I cock my gun for the final shot* Guy: I'll have my... REVEGN-- *Fires a round into his head* Me: You spelt it wrong... Fucker. *Continues to write a message on the wall by shooting the corpse and getting his blood to fly all over the place*

Strafing. When I turn corners I strafe, when going forward I strafe along walls, when I fight I strafe around the opponent and attack.
uh
Shut up bitch >.> Habits are habits. (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Jaanus))
I've got a habit of firing my gun just to hear what it sounds like. And in RTS' I always send my huge armies then leave them and do something else, only to find that my army's been obliterated.
Hoarde the good weapons for when i need them, but never do. I've spent entire games running through them without ever using the higher tier weaponry.
I look for these "corners" in steep mountains so I can slide on to them and slowly climb, just to see what's up there.
you talk to your computer
Speaking of which, in any FPS, if it lags when I'm a gunfight with someone and I die I tend to shout at my computer. Fucking STALKER :argh:
you talk to your computer
Xbox.
Well I dunno if it's that much of a strange gaming habit but sometimes when I'm playing a game I just like zone out and think about something else, while still mindlessly playing the game, and beating it.
in games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R where everyone has a name, I remember the names of people I pass by often. [editline]11:11AM[/editline] Sometimes I'll also release the mouse and such and just wait to see what cool idle animation comes with each weapon.
Shut up bitch >.> Habits are habits.
Strange habits are strange habits and we have the right to comment about things we find strange. [editline]01:21PM[/editline]
Xbox.
Weirdo.
Well I dunno if it's that much of a strange gaming habit but sometimes when I'm playing a game I just like zone out and think about something else, while still mindlessly playing the game, and beating it.
That, I once zoned out and started worrying about homework while playing MW2, and when i snapped out i found that i had 25 kills and 1 death :v:
When I play RTS's, I will always toy with the enemy, even if I'm not having fun, like in Supreme Commander, playing against the bots, I will make powerful units patrol around their base, killing everything that tries to leave, destroy all their offensive units, and make a gigantic super powerful army to kill them
Also making sure i don't waste anything. In L4D2, if i have a molotov and i see another one on the ground, i go to the nearest zombie patch, throw it, then get the molotov that i saw on the ground.
Same, Except i dont even wait for a zombie patch, I just toss it. :c EDIT: I also try to get the PERFECT amount of shots i my game. Say i have 15/313 Shots, i have to make it 15/300
If the game allows you to reload even if the magazine is full in a firearm, I'll keep pressing R to see the animation. Also, in strategy games featuring modern military forces, my composition must be a strong infantry base supported by a slightly lesser amount of armor.
Oh, and I never use the really powerful weapons in games because I'm afraid I'll run out of ammo for them, be unable to find more, and have to fight a really strong boss. Like the .357 and the crossbow in Half Life 2.
Whenever I have a gun, if the ammo in reserve isn't a factor of that number, I change it. For example, if I have an M16 with 30 bullets in the mag and 580 rounds in reserve, I fire off ten bullets so that it'll be 30 bullets to 570 in reserve.
Become a calculator.
shouting boom headshot when I get a headshot and leaning closer into the screen as the action gets more intense. Also when approaching a corner of a building I lean to the side of my screen to try and see around it
FPS Doug
In any game, when sniping, I MUST wait for the perfect shot, and I MUST kill them in one shot, and I get pissed if I use more than one shot, or the guy runs off.
Getting up to a high out of sight, unnoticable even rediculous sniping spot, like a 2 cm gap that I can shoot through and killing someone as a sniper.
Also this
I always kill my team mates.
In single-player RTS', namely Act of War, I use coordinated infantry tactics, organising them into eight man Fireteams, with four basic infantry, two snipers, two anti-tank infantry and two elite infantry (IE the Delta Force Operatives). I also sometimes just mass up big rushes, making three or four maximum sized groups, and preserve the elite troops and form one super-group who will always spearhead an attack. I also build as many hospitals as possible so I can MEDEVAC the wounded elites (and whoever else I can save, but experienced soldiers have priority)
