In hl1 I never use the rocket launcher (unless I feel like it, but otherwise I'll pass right by it) I jump over "cracks" (pretty much anything that separates one area from another, like where concrete meets grass, I'll jump over the line created) Also out of game I click a lot when I don't need to.. not sure why. And I must explore anything I'm not supposed to that can be explored.
Whenever I have a gun, if the ammo in reserve isn't a factor of that number, I change it. For example, if I have an M16 with 30 bullets in the mag and 580 rounds in reserve, I fire off ten bullets so that it'll be 30 bullets to 570 in reserve.
This
I hoard scrolls and magic arrows and weapons and shit all the time, JUST IN CASE. Although there are always cases where I could use them and it wouldn't be a waste, but even then I keep them JUST IN CASE I REALLY need them later.
I'll usually keep things like grenades or scrolls and stuff because I know they'll come in handy later, but usually whenever the situation comes around, I'm so caught up in the game that I forget/don't have time to get those things out, and instead end up wasting half my ammo and health.
Reload constantly. I always horde supplies like the big guns for "when I'll really need it", and then never use it the entire game. Keep certain NPCs alive if they do kickass stuff, and reload a save if they die.
I did this on Fallout 3 with Fat Man and just about every single other weapon that wasn't a rifle or a pistol. I beat the entire game with Ol' Painless and the Hunting Rifle (or whatever it's called), except for the last level, where I used a minigun.
I shut doors behind me all the time, even in multiplayer games. In stalker, before leaving the area. I scour the entire level for bodies then drag them all to a big pile somewhere, this can take an hour depending on the body count. [editline]08:33PM[/editline] Also nice thread, I will try and think of some more.
Looks like facepunch has a serious case of OCD.
I just remembered a good one! Every now and then I will replay Timesplitters 2 due to it being my favourite game ever, and every time I have the thought in my head I'm about to play it, I get really fucking excited. It will consist of me opening the case fumbling with the CD to jam it in my PS2 as quickly as possible then during the first load scene I will shout at the bar to load faster. [editline]08:43PM[/editline] Also shouting/clapping at load bars in general.
You know how in mass effect the R key makes you throw a grenade? I always forget that and try to reload with it.
I can't stop being a pack rat to save my life, literally. And after playing Team Fortress 2 too long, whenever I'm in need of medical attention in any game I like pressing the "E" button
If there's nothing to do, I usually spam A and D while running to the objective. Usually with lots of jumping as well. Things like this applies to TF2 and L4D 1/2
When playing a game like Counter Strike, I switch my weapon back and forth really fast by pressing Q all the time. I don't know why I do it.
I'm afraid of wasting things like grenades so I end up never using them.
When playing a game like Counter Strike, I switch my weapon back and forth really fast by pressing Q all the time. I don't know why I do it.
Yeah in Source games I do this all the time (CSS, TF2 etc) Although you do seem a lot of people do it, on CSS at least.
If a game has a quick weapon switch I'll sometimes shuffle through them constantly with my mousewheel if I'm not attacking.
While playing sniper in TF2, I always fire off one round of the sniper rifle before heading out to the fight. I don't know why, I just like the full ammo count as 24 instead of 25.
Oh yea, in any physics game, after I kill someone and the coast is clear; I like to fondle around with their body before I do my next objective.
In RTS: Lose on purpose before even trying to win, just to read the defeat logs or videos. FPS: Do spiral jumps everywhere when bored.
I shoot guys in the nuts to see if they affect how they die.
In RTS, I build up the biggest most powerful force I possibly can before destroying my enemy, even if I only need 1/4 of what I actually built. This usually ends up in every match against bots in RTS about an hour and a half long.
In platformers with a rolling move, I always roll, everywhere, if I do not roll, I do not progress. Which isn't good as most times rolls are slower than running. In RTS games I tend to send units out on their tasks, and then follow them until I know they are there, which again, is not good as I could be building new units. Another smaller thing I tend to do is make sure all my units have equal strengths (offensive units all with similar weaponry, defensive units all with similar protection) If I cannot stick to this rule I always make one guy, and just that one guy, have a advantage, and treat him like a commander. FPS games, I will tend to jump at every opportunity, reload after every enemy I can see is dead/ gone (which does lead to me dieing if there is a enemy around the corner), I always try to sneak behind the enemy too, even if I don't get anything done. It's just fun. They aren't all weird, but they are a bit annoying at times.
When I play RTSes (which is not often, I hate that genre :v:) I always must have groups of units in either multiples of three or five. Always.
In Red Orchestra, I shoot the guns out of my teammates hands. and when we are in a group I shoot the ground next to them until they look around but when they look at me I look somewhere else unsuspiciously, and then when they start to run again I shoot past their heads so it sounds like they are under fire.
I have a strange habit in RTS games to create small squads, with about 5 soldiers and a light armored vehicle, and making them patrol around ways in the map. Then I watch them get slaughtered (When I'm really, reeealy bored I voice act silly stuff too :ohdear: ) Must.... Drive...over....the.....SCOOTER! A strange thing in GTA IV , I can't let a scooter driving guy go, I just have to drive over him. Stealing clothes from female npc's in FO3 and oblivion amuses me without clear reasons. If I spot gore, I just have to shoot of a bodypart at every kill.
Jumping for sure. Can't stop jumping, crouching, proning...
If a wall looks suspicious, I will continue shooting at it while writing something in bullet decals.
Jumping always
I replicate the default CSS weapon animations with my hands, just so I can point out how... awful they are to my self a little more.
I have to watch the intro and the credits in every game unless I've played and beaten it before. Even with L4D and its sequel's trailers, I have to watch them ingame. After I scroll to quickswitch, I roll back up to the same weapon, trying to compensate for the movement. Same for the mouse. While moving, I occasionally have the urge to just mash the A and D or Q and E keys. When finally deciding to use a high-powered item, I forget how rare they are and just start bombing the NPCs. Case in point: The L4D2 nade launcher.
i always masturbate after css to vent myself
