I always carry only one pistol and main weapon, even in games like Fallout where you can carry tons and tons of weapons.
In RTS games, especially C&C, I build a massive base with tons of defenses and lots of refineries. I grab every little piece of resource available and build an unbeatable army while doing so. I keep expanding my power with smaller bases around each ore field. Eventually the enemy's economy gets reduced to a third world level, and I destroy all of its defenses with tactical strikes and super weapons. At last I roll in with my breath and fps taking army and obliterate everything. It takes needlessly long, but I enjoy it for some reason.
No better feeling than selecting all units, clicking the middle of enemy base, then leaning back and sipping coffee with a smug smile on your face.
I go on the easiest level possible because I am afraid I won't beat the game if I don't. :ohdear:
I never feel like a pro-gamer. :saddowns:
I scream when I'm rushing into battle on all kinds of FPS games. If I'm ubered on TF2, I'll scream, if I'm going berserk on Borderlands with Brick, I'll scream.
I also fire in bursts, even if the weapon doesn't lose accuracy while going full auto.

My policy to beat the game on easy for the story, then replay it on hard.
And STALKER
most consecutive grenades I ever had in STALKER was the ten I found in the red forest / x10
I always try to save every single person in games with NPC's. Like Deus Ex and Halo I make sure every single Marine or Ally is alive by the end of the battle, and I restart if they aren't.
I've got a habit of firing my gun just to hear what it sounds like.
This.
And whenever playing a game, i'll do something like making my ammo count either end with a 5 or a 0, usually by firing off shots and reloading.

I used to do this,
Now I play on at least Normal.
When playing RTS games, I usually do the following:
-Resource gatherers HAVE to be 5. There can be no more than 5 wood cutters, miners e.t.c. If I need more they MUST be 10.
-Builders must be a 10 group.
-My army always consists of 10 or 20 soldiers of each group. 10 archers, 20 horsemen, 10 infantry.

I did that alot in Age Of Empires II
I purposely have some equipment or weapon that is better than what I'm currently using sitting in my inventory. That way when I'm being beaten half to death I have a trump card that I can use to save myself. If this isn't possible then I purposely play worse than possible so I feel like I have a trick up my sleeve.
I often times go by instinct alone. For example in TF2 I regularly hit people from across the map with the flaregun. As a demoman if I think about where I'm shooting my grenades they won't be effective at all, but if I just pick four random points on the floor and then shoot randomly the explosions throw the grenades to the spots I was just looking at. After hundreds of hours in that game I still wonder how I manage to do the things I do sometimes.

In Rainbow Six Vegas, my friend and I always play the Library mission on Terrorist Hunt.
We have routes planned out that we always take without even discussing them.
And if I can, I try to get a 'terrorist kill of the week'. I'll get a terrorist's attention then run out the room and stand just next to the doorway, shooting him once in the head as he runs through.
Masturbate to how good I am at the games I play.
Not sure if anyone else does this, but when ever I select a gun from my weapon slot, I have to hit another slot button, then hit the previous button again.
A bit hard to explain, but like in css, when I choose my rifle by pressing 1, I quickly press 2 to select my pistol, then 1 again. This is where the habit started for me, so when I press q while holding the rifle I'll be sure it switches to the pistol. And now I do it in every game, even if it doesn't support a q function. I also do it many times, like 1, 2, 1, 2, 1.. Just to be sure.
have at least 6 boxes of snus, 12 litres of cola, garlic bread, and just fucking got nuts :D
Discovered two new ones that I didn't notice before:
I tend to send 4 soldier "Recon" groups around the map and follow them until they die, in their last combat where they get killed I tend to narrate radio signals they send to my HQ.
Then I create an APC and fill it with soldiers and go to the point where they are killed to 'investigate'
Still narrating radio signals.
And I tend to say "What the christ" and laugh like a maniak randomly when I'm playing any online fps.
I never use good items because I 'might need them for later' and end up never using them.
This is insanely true in Borderlands. My backpack is always full and even if I find a better weapon than the ones I have at the time I just go "Hmm, but this rocket launcher is better against flesh, and I have this static revolver to take out their shields... I suppose I could drop Sledge's Shotgun, but it's served me well so far and it's good for knocking back enemies." Then I end up leaving the awesome weapon behind just because I can't let go of my old ones :v:.
MUST... RELOAD... It's really annoying in battlefield because you have magazines and not loose ammo. So if i fire a bullet and reload, that whole clip will be lost.

This also I kept my first first decent revolver.
Jumping. Constantly. Everywhere.
Seriously if the game has a jump button I can't got more than 5 seconds with out subconcoiusly pressing it.
I leveled to 37 in Oblivion only because I had acrobatics as an main skill.
I stopped leveling because it went to master :sigh:

No he can't,
Read OP.
I nearly always try to find alternative routes.
If there is ever a time in a game when I regroup with a fair amount of teammates that are preparing for an attack, I try to be really epic. I run in front of everyone, imagine being in slow-mo, pretend to be yelling, and then headshot everyone. At the end, I spin around to see all the dead bodies in my wake.
Anyone know of any free Mac RTS games? All this talk of RTS has got me missing them, and I'm away from my PC for an extended period of time. :(
From my old thread.
Hey Facepunch. Just wondering, do any of you have weird video game habits? Just stuff you do that isn't really "common" while playing a game. Because, I do, but usually in Singleplayer.
Some examples of mine would probably be...
I like to pretend I'm a Top Gear presenter while playing literally all driving games. Especially Test Drive Unlimited. I honest to god start talking in an English Accent (Varies whether I'm Hammond, Clarkson, or May.) and start looking at a camera that doesn't exist to talk about the car I'm driving. I know, it's crazy. I also sometimes pretend I'm on Top Gear challenges in games like Euro Truck Simulator. I obviously pretend I'm doing a Lorry challenge. But wait, there's more, I was in an Endurance Race is Forza 2 before, I pretended to be all three of them in the Britcar 24, and when I fucked up, I would go to pits, and pretend I was the Stig. I know, this sounds hilariously stupid, but it's just a habit of mine. I guess it comes from a love of Motorsport, Top Gear, and Driving.
Also, once and a while, whilst playing a sports game, I commentate. :awesomelon:
So yea, what are your weird habits during videogames?
I kinda do what some others do in RTS games, which is keep my powerful units alive. Except I don't do it by pulling them out of combat when they are hurt, I do it by not using them. Ever.
When I played Age of Empires and such, my powerful units would always sit in the back of my base while I sent out cannon fodder to die. I just couldn't bear to watch guys that I spent all game researching go die for no reason.
But I would eventually mass such a huge force that I'd make one huge attack, mowing through everything in my way. Most of the time, my victory/loss depended on that attack. If it is successful, I win, if it fails, I lose.
Also, I have to make my bases neat and productive. Military buildings must be kept separate from economic buildings and the like.
In any RPG sorta game I'm a huge pack rat, just like real life.
Especially in games like the Fallouts and Oblivion, I never want to drop shit and usually am always at my weight/carry limit.
When an announcer/character says ANYTHING, I tend to repeat it in real life.
Example: screaming "Entire team is babies!" right after the heavy says it in game.
Compulsively yelling for dispensers in TF2, even if I'm not a scout.

Don't put acrobatics as a major or minor stat. It won't level you up then.
