Why the tech of the Halo Universe is a step backward.

That's... very specific. About the same intelligence level as the average Halopedia user.
Wait, if laser guns automatically cauterize, wouldn't plasma do the same thing?
So since when were we talking about the Empire?
A few pages ago....Yesterday....Then suddenly we abandoned Star Trek and Star Wars. I was like "What the fuck happened OVERNIGHT?!"

Did you or did you not read the entire thread? Earlier we said it would. I suggest you read earlier posts to catch up in case you're asking something we already answered. The answer is Yes.
(I don't mean this to sound rude btw)
Not to be nit-picky but I believe water has the FOURTH highest specific heat capacity. Just behind ammonia, which is just behind helium, which is, itself, a fair bit behind hydrogen. I might be mistaken, though.
I think, please don't think I'm being a bitch about it, because I'm not, that water has a higher specific heat cap., just going on the fact that it has more degrees of freedom than Hydrogen and Helium, ie four vibrational modes rather than the standard one quantum one vibration, along with the usual translational etc. Also wikipedia with its' crazy data tables kinda agrees.

I have been following but I was double checking. Because I was back a couple pages just reading something I missed and noticed that someone talked about skin exploding or something.

It depends if the plasma goes right through you (like a large bullet) or sticks inside you (which sounds unlikely unless it's been modified like the Halo fans say it is). I wouldn't know, I never play Halo.
I never understood how charging a plasma pistol didn't do more damage and simply broke the energy shields.
I never understood how charging a plasma pistol didn't do more damage and simply broke the energy shields.
Sounds stupid to me.
Sounds stupid to me.
Supposedly, it ionizes to such a point that it's more energy than matter. Or something like that. Pseudoscience and all that.
The Elites' camo is about as useful as me putting on an orange shirt at midnight and calling myself invisible.
The Elites' camo is about as useful as me putting on an orange shirt at midnight and calling myself invisible.
Is it in pitch darkness? Oh, and LULZ.
Also, the Halo series is overrated, and, gay.
My work here is done.

When you're a 7 foot wall of muscle that can dual wield flesh melting repeater plasma rifles, you don't really need camo.
Also, the Halo series is overrated, and, gay.
We all have our opinions.
When you're a 7 foot wall of muscle that can dual wield flesh melting repeater plasma rifles, you don't really need camo.
Yeah, you do. All you're doing is making yourself a better target.

This I guess, covenant on foot seem more than able to kick the shit out of any military on earth, but throw vehicles into that and things get a bit skewed.
Also, the Halo series is overrated, and, gay.
And with that, any and all reasons for taking anything you say seriously become invalidated.
Also, the Halo series is overrated, and, gay.
I could say the same thing about Half life, but opinions are opinions.
I could say the same thing about Half life, but opinions are opinions.
Yep, you have that right and I don't intend to start a debate about it.
Also, the Halo series is overrated, and, gay.
The Halo series is not a person; it is a series of inanimate objects (video games), which do not have personalities or feel emotions, and are not conscious. Therefore, it is physically impossible for the Halo series to be gay (homosexual), because it is not a living being. If you meant 'gay' as in 'happy,' then that makes even less sense.

Unless he THINKS THE HALO SERIES IS A PERSON? Do you need to see a Doctor 09'er?
OP hasn't read extended fiction. Canonically, humans win ground engagements, aliens win space engagements. Space engagements trump ground engagements, for the same reason that if somebody is invading you by landing boats, ground victories are essentially meaningless (Assuming the adversary has virtually limitless materiel) unless you cut off the source of troops in a naval battle and enforce naval superiority.
On the subject of space, if you want camouflage (At least in the visible spectrum) there's no reason to paint ships anything other than black.

Yeah, no matter what the hell you may have heard, space is pure black and you can't see the stars.

This. In the canon the Covenant are also religious fanatics that will use only things that are forerunner in origin. Like their plasma weapons, shields, etc are all forerunner technology that they reverse engineered for their own purposes. So, in the Covenant's history, they haven't progressed much since discovering these technologies, hence the lack of more conventional weaponry like faster projectiles or more stealthy alternatives.
It would still be harder to pick out a black ship than, say, a bright iridescent purple ship.
Wouldn't killing a Hunter be considered an act of genocide?
Well fapping isn't so I guess it's okay.

Again proving human advantage of ingenuity.

But sperm isn't fully sentient yet. I assume all those Lekgolo worms are alive and, more importantly, thinking. Or perhaps they only think when merged into a Hunter.
Can we go back to discussing Star Wars vs. Star Trek vs Covenant vs Flood vs Combine vs Warhammer stuff vs Humanity then vs Humanity now vs Strogg?
That was beautiful :frown:
Again proving human advantage of ingenuity.
Agree'd.
In my opinion the halo univers has brillant stuff in it, but the whole thing is spoiled by the incoherency. It doesn't feel like it's a futuristic universe set 250 years later. Mass Effect or even Star Wars are way better at this because they actually create a whole universe or succeed extrapolating what's new at our time and imagine how these new things will be old and not used anymore or more or less changed throughout the years.
And, yeah, they actually manage to make armies look decent and well organized, though Star Wars loses the point compared to Mass Effect thanks to blind stormtroopers.

They work as a whole. And by Whole, I mean a whole civilization, not just an individual.

Those wholes also work in pairs called blood brothers I think.

No it's bond brothers my bad.
