they didn't need to aim they hipfired like a boss
Having no discernible iron sights is just stupid.
They don't need them they have what is practically a red dot sight that works from the hip. Not that you would need to aim with the SMG or AR in Spraylo.
I'd rather deal with SW kiddies than 12 year old ~xXxpr0~t@Kt1K001~pr0xXx~ halo players [editline]3rd January 2011[/editline] And if the super tactical reticle goes down due to malfunction or EMP?
Presumably it doesn't often enough or at all for it to be a problem, but it supposedly has an iron sight somewhere for just such a case.
Source? [editline]3rd January 2011[/editline] Please don't quote Halopedia or a random bnet poster.
Well yeah it is on the Halopedia. Probably from one of the books though or something.
I don't remember seeing any mention of iron sights in any of the books, except for the 5K, even though that's debatable as we don't know if the carry handle has an integrated iron sight or not.
on halopedia it says:
Halo: Contact Harvest, pages 136-138
Can anyone check their copy of CH to confirm?
117 winner ratings don't touch.
The AR's design makes it so the gun doesn't really need a real iron sight (the top part is triangularish.)
Seems flat-ish to me.
Also the fact that it sprays like a motherfucker, it's like a rapid fire blunderbuss, you don't exactly need precise aim to operate it.
Thereby making it ineffective past 30 meters.
That's one of the things that bothers me about the original AR, the barrel is actually the same length as a full size M16
This kinda makes me wonder if any ArmA 2 modder would actually stoop down to the level of adding Halo content.
I wouldn't mind doing it myself, the problem is I wouldn't want to have to scratch build all the models and such, and using Bungie's models is what brings down the wrath of Bungie's lawyers. I got too much on my plate to add more models that need making.
Thereby making it ineffective past 30 meters.
Yeah but the pistol has a scope. :v:
If they enlarged the pistol to be fitted into a ship, I'd bet you the war would've been over in months.
Can anyone check their copy of CH to confirm?
"When Jenkins had trouble zeroing his rifle (ensuring its accuracy by adjusting its sights for elevation and windage), Forsell offered to help." Contact Harvest, Page 138 They don't specify what the sight is, but it certainly exists. My guess would be that the ammo indicator would transmit a reticule on an image taken from a tiny camera in front of the gun when aimed, sort of like lightguns at arcades (just my theory). It's by Staten, so it is definitely canon that the MA5 series has sights.
Bungie.net certainly might give you that impression. [editline]4th January 2011[/editline] Oh god I'm so sick of hearing about jenkins why do they have to shoehorn characters in like that? :(
And that is why I beat all of them by my self. 4 times, I lost one time though.
Worst fucking post in that thread.
The covenants can beat the "2011" humans at 500 feet easily, just give them the focus rifle, which is a sniper rifle, that can burn in only 1 second because they have no shields :)
anyways I drew how the MA should be irl since the design is utterly retarded and doesn't fit the description in the books took out the flashlights since it's really pointless imo
Ehm, if you watch the animations in the game pretty much the whole back end of the gun is for ammo. The magazine is huge already you actually made it smaller. Also, games before books. The books are describing the design in the games not the other way around. Visually you basically ruined the design.

I was providing insight and also voicing my opinion on how the MA rifle would be more practical if it were real life remember, when it comes to weapons: looks<practicability; and imho the games are abysmal in terms of weapon design plausibility
Saying all Halo players are like that is like me saying all mass effect players are in it for the Tali romance scene.
That's also like saying that all SW fans are kiddies that were introduced to the franchise through Clone Wars.
It's not hard to follow the extremely simply lines that defines and epitomizes the design. You broke every single one of those lines for no apparent reason. The extremely tight design principles and pleasing visuals are a huge part of what makes Halo, if you're going to throw that away in the name of practicality you might as well just stop talking about Halo.

That's exactly the point here we're talking about Halo. You're straying off that topic with your gun nerd thing.
