In the books they did state that their ground force was not as threatening as their space combat capabilities.
weren't humans winning on reach until the covies up and glassed their shit
weren't humans winning on reach until the covies up and glassed their shit
Reach was a lost cause right when the Covenant fleet warped in.
yeah but masterchief could survive a fall from space without any damage could shepard do it
No, but Shepard -is outfitted with ocular synaptic processors that allow him to focus on targets with lethal accuracy. -has a skill called Adrenaline rush that increase strength, speed, and reflexes. -has skin weaves that cause his skin to be tougher/improves healing, heavy muscle weaves that increases strength/decrease damage from muscle exertion, and bone weaves that make them nearly unbreakable/also helps improve healing. -had shields and armor from his old suit that was already comparable to Chief. Now He has improved armor and upgrades that enhance shields/armor further. -is able to apply modifications like augmenting shields or different forms of ammunition during combat.
Reach was a lost cause right when the Covenant fleet warped in.
lol yeah i mean they were winning until the fleet tho right?
In the books they did state that their ground force was not as threatening as their space combat capabilities.
But that's trivial when you consider that their ground forces are typically devastating to begin with.
yeah and even the grunts are god damn super human i mean master chief weights 2 tons and they can hold him up with their heads
What? Grunts are extremely weak, a single grunt wouldn't hold its own against a Marine. With the armor, one Spartan accidentally broke every bone in his arm by saluting too quickly in his first run with a MJOLNIR suit of armor.
lol yeah i mean they were winning until the fleet tho right?
Pretty much, the destruction of the Long Night of Solace would've cemented Human victory.
if we talked about how useful the guns are in games the guns in mass effect are a step down from guns too in a way small sand sized bullets, fired at meteor speeds would be short ranged(cuz how fast it'd burn out) and would probably only give welts and shit with the armor in mass effect and shielding(which like, protects from space shit as in mini meteors) but it's damn cool
Think of it this way, would you rather be hit by a bowling ball fired at the speed of sound or a piece of sand fired at, maybe .05% of c, I.E. lightspeed. that is 1.498 million meters per second. Something moving that fast through you, will cause major damage.

Or being nicked by a warthog.
And yet Master Chief dies by being slapped lightly in the back of his head. Or being nicked by a warthog.
Gameplay reasons. Shepard and his squadmates can take up to two missiles down the throat on Insanity alone. If it happened in a cutscene, they would be painting the walls.
And yet Master Chief dies by being slapped lightly in the back of his head. Or being nicked by a warthog.
Again, using the games as some sort of proof.
How did this become about MC vs. Shepard? It's like pitting characters from Star Wars against Star Trek.
if you're wearing the armor in mass effect or halo then i prefer the piece of sand especially when it's moving that fast since it'd burn out
you increase in heat because of the air friction you know they piece of sand metal would have broken apart already

You're looking for a round that rips and tears, which are usually the slower rounds.
One Space Marine would shred the chief. Hell, one guardsman would shred the chief.
Not really, it would pass right through with minimal damage.
And yet Master Chief dies by being slapped lightly in the back of his head. Or being nicked by a warthog.
Shepard had to be brought back to life by some super secret company with billions of credits when we fell to the planet from his ship. The chief did it and brushed it off like nothing and immediately saw a cloaked "enemy."
One Space Marine would shred the chief. You could say Superman could kill any other superhero, and you would be right, but a man with infinite strength, every power, and his only weakness being located trillions of miles away is guaranteed to win. Same applies for Space Marines.
did this thread get a massive injection of idiocy or something

Instead of firing at a range or using dropships, Space Marines get in close with chainsaw swords and instead drop on the enemy's ships (and also the enemies themselves).
um no they have ranged weapons and dropships you know
One Space Marine would shred the chief. Hell, one guardsman would shred the chief.
Well of course, they're from different universes, and Space Marines are fucking huge. These cross-fiction fights are fucking retarded, it's like saying "DANTE WOULD TOTALLY BEAT CAPTAIN PRICE IN A FIGHT RIGHT GUYS" or alternatively "GORDON FREEMAN COULD BEAT CTHULHU RIGHT GUYS" It makes no fucking sense to compare characters that are so drastically different.
Guardsmen probably couldn't, but Space Marines are way overpowered to the point that they are disqualified from discussion. i always hated fighting with marines in halo 1 you only hear "frag out" and you see everything explode and then you die reloading right to the part where he said "Frag out" again
master chief is a rank master chief is infact a higher rank than commander i am pretty sure
If both Shepard and Master Chief have Naval ranks, then Master Chief is way lower than Shepard. Master Chief Petty Officer is the highest enlisted rank in the Navy, and Commander Shepard is an officer. Even a Lieutenant is a higher rank than Master Chief.
o i dunno then i only looked at a chart off of google so it was probably wrong

Looking at groups like the SAS in the present day, even a private in a special forces group has more command over an officer in the regular army.
