I just realized that witch doctor is perfect for basket assault/ guarding. He can death ward up cliffs/ since there are no creeps nearby, all the assaulting heros are basically permastunned.

I still have not had a single fun moment in this mode. Every single person is a gigantic asshole. Even more so than regular Dota. For a mode meant to be fun I am having none of it everytime I try to play.

Might be a bit better now since denying candy and courier stashing are fixed.
People either try to have fun, try to outsmart people using dastardly/annoying tactics or plain play by themselves.
Now that there is no more reward notification at start, all you have to do is land high enough in matchmaking where there are people who don't enjoy throwing games, annoying fellow players and don't have superiority complex.

Yeah, believe it or not, I do. That's why I just tried to play a game of Diretide. Instead I found myself on a team with three people who thought this was The Internation of Diretide matches. So here is me, trying to have some fun in a mode made for shits and giggles, getting my shit chewed out for no reason at all.
So far all of my Diretide games seem to align with the phrase "This is why we can't have nice things."

I blame item drops, only item traders and people who take items too seriously in general play(IE total idiots). I spent 30 minutes trying to convince a premade on kids on microphones with TF2 avatars covered in pink unusual hats that destroying candy was a bug and to check the forums. They never believed me and right after the match, they patched it.
The few people I meet who try to have fun, by chatting with everyone in allchat and joking or just playing silly and not caring about winning or losing, get shat on by the pudge who plays diretide nonstop farming items and screaming the second your score goes one candy below theirs and call gg nonstop.
The few fun matches are fun, though.

You can make it orange/green/purple by mixing colours.
Unusual adds a glow around the egg, up to 3 layers.
Whatever the black one is called instantly turns your egg black, and you can't add any other colours to it. So don't add it to an egg that already has essence

Thanks. So since ive got 3 exort and 3 quas i can make it purple. Can i add more essence after that? Because it says the egg has 9 slots for common essence.

You can only add Wex and Strange.
You could also add a Shadow Essence, but that would be such a massive waste.
To me this mode is like "Steal candy, give candy to Roshan, have more candy after 20 min, kill Roshan."
Its really useful with Warrunner because of his ult.

Take Static Link at lv1 and max it early, you're 2-shotting anyone who has more than 4-5 candies at level 7-10

Also, giving enemy team candy during Rosh battle is so fun.
So i have an egg with 3 red essences and a unusual, i have two blue and a yellow.
What will i get by adding my unusual to the 3 red one i already had?
I just had the worst possible game of diretide. Turns out Meepo's clones don't have truce on them, so the enemy team walks to our spawn, and continues to kill the Clones. Our Meepo died so much, his death counter reset.

unusual will make your egg glow.
Get most candy on team, recieve common NP shoulders.
2 teammates get rare weapons.

Spirit breaker is an amazing solution to blink heroes, and it means they can only take 1-2 candies or risk getting destroyed by him when he inevitably catches you.
I killed antimage maybe 7 times trying to jack our candy pot, and the best part is you can do it from almost anywhere in the map and still intercept him before he makes it to his own pot.
Outworld is such a baller in this mode. Having him and an Anti-Mage makes sure the enemy never has any mana, ever.
Having Tiny and Outworld also is amazing for teamfights.
