You can.
pretty sure there's a bug where you can't use unusuals on a dreaded egg unless they fixed it. before you had to put unusuals on the egg first before putting the shadow essence in.
It got fixed.

afaik you get the option to hatch the eggs now that the event does not delete your items (essences eggs etc)
also i think the night of the 12th PST
i had a game where an AM kept being silenced by a drow in their candy all game. did literally nothing team wise then half way goes to jungle and tries to farm gold. we tell him farming in this mode is very inefficient, he says well its not normal dota so im not trying. i tell him to fuck off and some people actually want to win. he then reports me for being a crybaby bitch. Diretide has brought out the worst of me because i never get a good match with people. also the bucket placement is kinda broken. if im radiant we always lose, but if we are dire we always win. mostly because how easy dire is to defend.
