Oh boy a re--awwwwww.
So, why do all the screenshots of the bought version look so much better? I mean, it's not even the shadows and stuff. It seems the terrain is more interesting as well.

I tell you what. If my imported french tofu doesn't cost me the entirety of what's in my Paypal account, I'll buy you Minecraft.
Note: The odds of this happening are 0%.
Recently, I've gotten tired of building "small stuff" like houses and the like, so I've decided to construct "Fort Creeper military base". It's my first "big" thing, so in fact it's pretty small.
It's pretty cute though. Makes me want to put up a fort near my relay station.
Or just relay stations period. FUCK, do I want multiplayer infdev. Roaming the countryside, makin' roads and zombie shelters and signage and haulin'...pork or something for currency...
My base:

(Ignore the burning trees :v:)
Besides the big window there's nothing special about it, I can't find anymore coal either.

My 5MB world:

Red is my base, blue is where I stayed for a night, green is the giant arrow I used to get back.

Someone comment on my beautifully crafted comic. D:
Take the / at the end of the URL out.
Overused joke, I know. But I spent a few hours on this. :buddy:

It's cuz the map generator is more updated and more sexy.

That would be fucking terrifying. I would never go near deep water.
Also going to buy minecraft this weekend, finally. I've been meaning to buy it for a while.
When multiplayer infdev should come out, Muskets should be released... I think late 18th century technology fits minecraft fairly well.
I am making relay stations so to speak and making a base level (1 Z-level above magma) station that will connects ll these relay stations so that in case of an attack or something I can just jump in and travel to somewhere else. I am also making far off bases that will also be connected via underground railroad. And yes the base level station is so huge ATM that it takes a few minutes to get to one base to another. A minecart would be great. And getting down that low is quiet long so I can't wait for ladders.

Steam/Dieselpunk
:smug:
Actually it would be awesome, miles of metallic tubes going through tunnels sending high-pressurized steam to huge digging machines deep underground.

Its cool.
[tab]What is it?[/tab]
it's a genetic engineer. he's like a scientist and engineer put together.
Looks pretty cool besides the lack of shading.
Ah ok. Looks good I just didnt know what it was.

Look at it this way: I could plot a path to diamond lodes with Cartograph and farm creepers until I could blast my way to stone and ore galore...or I could just *voip* myself some building materials. Still well within the bounds of the game, I'm just trying to work on a scale where hunting for shit as I needed it would make it take aeons.

Creeperville has been smushed, the farm saved...on to the zombie mainland!
Wow, my new farm is awesome! Just look at all these

Well, Fuck, I should start playing this again, I bought it and it wound up excellent, I'm just waiting till Notch pops in, says "Minecraft Multiplayer Survival is up" And I will go batshit and fly to one of the servers.
Don't worry, Facepunchians, where everyone else fails to consistently host a server, I have found a shitty but capable computer in my garage this fine 5:48 AM and will run a server as soon as Survival Multiplayer arrives!
but not creative though, creative is getting boring :saddowns:
speaking of the sort, how good does the computer have to be to host. I have my old computer right behind me, I could probably run a 24/7 server.
It just needs enough RAM and space and such to run the server software and the game at the same time (for a little breathing room in case the server becomes data-heavy with worlds and such), but that's about it. MC isn't very resource-hogging, so it doesn't require much to run anyway.
The infinite map servers will need considerably more ram.
