Completely agree with this.
I don't see how anyone could use Cartographer to find ores...
You map out the ore, map out your map, layer them in GIMP, and then just dig a shaft down where there is whatever you wanted...
Well, I decided to take a break from working on the fort, so I decided to go explore...
Gentlemen, I present to you the Valley of the Kings.

As it grew dark, I dug out myself a little shelter in a cave. I'm definitely building something huge in here.
The Minecraft update is coming soon! Doors, Ladders, possibly chairs, and Signs.
I’m a bit worried about the performance in infdev, so I might have to do some work there to allow fixed sized maps again before replacing indev.
For all you whiners saying he isn't working fast enough on signs, this is what you have coming for you.
And suddenly s. Millions of s.

Thats amazing
So how do I get the cartographer to display the entire map and how do I survive the night in infdev?

Eat your heart out facepunch
how do I survive the night in infdev?
You can either hole up your house/fort/box and wait it out, do your regular mining at night, or, if you're like me, you can spend a ton of hours building huge, torch-lit bridges that branch out over the map and allow safe long-distance travel during night. :buddy:

-snip-
Found coal, plenty of it. Made a cave and my current goal is to remove all the dirt from the mountain and convert it into a giant mountain castle.
God damn, my daylight hole attracted every mob for miles around.
Fucking hell. I was supposed to be able to buy minecraft this weekend, but my debit card hasn't been sent to me yet. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't moving. I wont have the net for at least a month. :saddowns:
But, where do I get the torches from I have no coal.
For the moment I just put myself on a pillar.
Go mining. A lot of coal is often exposed to the daylight, actually; just go poking around rock cliffs and open mini-caves.
But what I did on my first (successful) journey into infdev was I made some pickaxes and just dug. And dug and dug and dug. I collected a bunch of coal, iron, and a shitload of stone. After a while I returned to the surface and had enough resources to start building large structures from the get-go.

HOLY SHIT THIS IS BAD I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEM I'M GOING TO BE POOR
So how do I get the cartographer to display the entire map and how do I survive the night in infdev?
what do you mean the entire map? the map is infinite (as far as anyone is concerned)) and that would be a huge image
Damn it, I keep dieing. Lost all of my coal and am now stranded in a tree until day, or death.
what happens at night if you don't have a base
[editline]08:30PM[/editline]
or light source
