I havent installed any mods. I dont have any files to install them to.

Medicwine try deleting the bin and redownloading.

It's all you can do unless you want to remove .minecraft and redownload the exe.

One of the guys who plays on the same SMP server as me, has built this absolutely massive underground chamber, the shaft down spawns 4-5 chunks.

The problem is, he's used burning wood for lighting throughout everything he's built, so in the latest update, 90% of his lighting has gone away. And to make matters awesome, his chamber is centred on a Slime spawning chunk.

We all can't wait for him to rejoin and see what has become of his castle and it's basement.

What the hell, Minecraft does something to my headphones, Everytime I look down at the floor I hear a high pitched screaming (It's faint, so not a mindfuck scream) Then as I lift my players head, the pitch lowers and lowers until it's really low, but when I look up further than normal headheight for the player, the screaming stops and I just hear crackling in my headphones.

I can still hear in-game sounds and that perfectly, just this screaming that's happening, and I have tried three different sets of headphones, all give the same response.

I don't think minecraft would be causing that, as it doesn't happen to me.

It is Minecraft, whenever I launch it, the sound DOES NOT happen, but if I start playing it i.e. Create a new world and play, The sound starts up again, but If I quit Minecraft, the sound goes away, crackling stops.

Maybe it's your sound card conflicting with notches "cut corners" coding, find the brand of your card and ask tech support in h&s
