They do in fact spawn though. So what if they don't grow. They don't have any purpose yet aside from jack-o-lanterns. I don't support pumpkin seeds until I can make pumpkin pie.

Yeah, there needs to be a way to farm materials like flowers, mushrooms and pumpkins. I've seen server mods that do it but they're kinda retarded: things grow SUPERFAST and super close together.

I disagree. Jack-o-lanterns are very useful and if you could grow them that'd mean that you don't need glowstone anymore because they kinda have the same functions and you can get the pumpkin back with no loss while as glowstone only gives 1 glowstone dust which is not enough to craft it again.

This is true. But I do wish there was a better alternative to jack-o-lanterns. They are halloween decorations and it feels wrong to have them all year round. I want something like glowstone, but not as..odd looking. And I don't want to have to go to the nether for it (which is buggy and can ruin your world entirely).

Instead I wish I could somehow encase my torches (lanterns in the future) as a solid block to act as light fixtures. As well as I want them to accept redstone inputs for obvious reasons.

On/Off lights would add greatly to the design of any building. You could have wiring running through the walls like real life!

And not break the link? Yea...that would be nice, but I wonder if it's possible. Then again I suppose it could "replace" the redstone wire with the block you place and give it the same wire function. And then when you break it, put back the redstone wire.

What about the door locks he mentioned? To hide a circuit you have to make a 3 block wide wall that's hollow for the wire to travel through. And it's messy/annoying to try and go underground and then straight back up again. Not to mention a waste of resources.
