Make a fireplace out of stone, put netherrack into, flint and steel.
Make sure it has an opening and that its fully made out of stone so it has no contact made with wood.
I'll post a picture of my wooden house for you to see.

Gathering enough iron for that kind of a drill is going to be fuck-hard man considering the size of that thing.

I seriously have like entire chests full of iron in quite a few of my saves already, it's abundant as fuck for me. No clue why you'd think it was difficult.

Also I think that because most of my saves happen to have almost no iron and it is a miracle if i find enough for a pickaxe a sword and an axe.

I have 5 or 6 stacks of iron blocks.

Personally, when I build my big Cobblestone Towers, I usually top them off with Netherrack, then set the Netherrack on fire. I have done this with my main tower, known as Firecrown, and my second, less elaborate tower near Gravel Compass. I call this tower Dirtpyre, as the Netherrack there is on top of a short 2x2 pole of Dirt at the top of the Tower.

My third tower, Netherrim, has a band of Netherrack running around the edge of the tower top, albiet in a different fashion to Firecrown. It's hard to explain, so i'll work on uploading them to a reliable host so I can show the pictures. It'll also help to show off the zeppelin dock I built there as well, which I built after watching the Yogscast Minecraft adventures.

I think I spent about 1 or 2 days on Netherrim Tower, and finished at about 7 this evening.

I use quandary. It doesn't ruin the original texture pack, instead it kind of makes it look a tad nicer with it still being 16x16. That and I can finally tell the different between stone and clay.

Here's the seed for the map containing the great hall "Ironhold". There's a reason behind the name, you can't hardly dig 20 blocks without finding SOME iron.
