I remade Vault 112 or something like that with Beds. The tranquility loungers, originally it was huge, now it's pretty small.

Notch "released" the update by returning from his vacation and telling his minions "...Hmm, yes, I approve of these changes. MAKE IT SO!" and then just like that he's off again.
They've adopted the policy of "release new blocks, it'll keep the peasants happy" while seemingly paying little to no mind to their ludicrously over-loaded verification server(s) and certain other issues like, as mentioned, missing chunks in SMP.
