His point is that WWI just doesn't make for a good video game.
Best example of a working ww1 game is codename eagle. It is unrealistic though.
ww1 is more than just dying in nomans land.

I hope they focus mostly on the Eastern front; the Western front was incredibly boring and pointless as far as fighting goes.

I think WWI has potential in video games, just not in a FPS.

That's because WWI would be horribly boring for a game setting. Nobody new how to really fight in modern warfare yet so people would either wait days or weeks doing nothing but fearing for their lives; taking the occasional potshot at an enemy or running at a gun and dying.

How was the eastern front any more exciting? Because it was cold? Because one side had next to no equipment?
Why would you want to play the eastern front?
The Russains basically had no weapons, not even uniforms. They'd charge in with farming equipment. FARMING EQUIPMENT GODDAMMIT. What were they thinking!?
Unless they were lucky enough to be given a gun (in which case most of them would hope to be shot so they could go home or die)

The Russian army was in fact severely underequipped. Some soldiers were even sent to war without any gear and told to find their weapons among the dead. If that's what you're questioning, of course.

this is the type of mod that never comes out, then when it does it is played for 2 weeks and dropped
