• Best cinematics in a game?

Although I hated the game, the cutscenes in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed were pretty well made and I enjoyed watching them.
Has nobody mentioned GTA IV? The acting and quality of the scenes are great. I would also have to say that Red Dead Redemption which comes out next year has some of the best cinematics I've ever seen. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCqklBZF0Jo[/hd]

Damnit, I'm late to the thread and nearly everything has been posted. Anyways any cinematic (especially CGI) Blizzard has made has been awesome, and Relic's DoW1 intro was great too (the second one's was good, but not as good). Also RE5's cutscenes are pretty darn good (as they should be, considering all the money they put into them): Watch in HD, and it's as big of a spoiler as it can be, so you are warned (skip to 1:40 if you can't stand a few seconds of non-action).
L4D one's are awesome.
The cinematics for the Devil May Cry games were awesome.
Uncharted one, ive yet to play 2 so I dunno
Dawn Of Fucking War 1/2 (The openings are sick) Team Fortress 2.
Warcraft has some pretty amazing cinematics. EDIT: For all of you rating me disagree, I assume because you think I'm talking about WoW, I am talking about Warcraft, the RTS. Just to prove my point..
Why does it matter? The WoW cinematics are amazing, too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi43UjsVVlE Not really a cinematic, but the game looks so good it applies. WATCH IT IN YOUTUBE, Media tags lag for me, don't know about you, best to be safe.
The ones in Ace Combat 5 were great
Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 God damn that scene is so god damn epic!
Why does it matter? The WoW cinematics are amazing, too.
Yeah, but the Warcraft RTSes are much less of a hateful waste of time than WoW. As far as direction, style and substance goes, I would say MGS3 or MGS4 takes the cake. Kojima may not be able to make a non-gibberish story, but he can direct the fuck out of scene.
The Wolfenstein opening was pretty nice. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvOITO04eOA&feature=related[/hd]
The animation style of Mirror's Edge and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising's Introduction.
The Driver games had some pretty fucking awesome cinematics. Parallel Lines, being the latest one, obviously had the best ones from the series. The most mentionable is the 1978 - 2006 transition cinematic: Probably one of the most awesome cutscenes ever. The best part starts at around 1:32.
All cutscenes in Resident Evil 5
Saints Row 2 had some of the best cinematics I've ever seen.
Totally agree. I didn't expect them to be as professionally made.
Mgs4.

The Saboteur has some nice render-scenes once you get them.

Red Alerts live action crap was kinda cheesy but kept me watching.
Diablo 2 Lord of destruction.
Red Alerts live action crap was kinda cheesy but kept me watching.
It was actually MEANT to be crappy and excessively cheesy.
Somebody has already said this, but Uncharted 2 and MGS4 have the best cinematics I have every witnessed.
Assassins Creed II.
Saints Row 2 had some of the best cinematics I've ever seen.
I agree, It's also fun as hell (No sarcasm)
