this thread seems a bit dead so WHAT SHALL I DO WITH THIS MONOLITH SCUM?
Fashion a barbecue from the nearby props and EAT IT! If that fails use it as fuel for the fire.
why would I eat SCUM though using it as fuel for the fire is genius! [editline]10:48PM[/editline] Oh and also can anyone explain how the FUCK this brainless faggot made it to [sp]the only safe spot in Pripyat?[/sp] HOW
"Will tell that rookie to quit it before he gets mistaken for a REAL zombie?!"
[blowout_period] enabled = 1.0 time = 1800.0 time2 = 2160.0 shift = 60.0 shift1 = 300.0 shift2 = 600.0 shift3 = 900.0 shift4 = 1200.0 shift5 = 750.0 shift6 = 180.0 shift7 = 450.0
Can someone clear all this up for me? That first one can be used to disable blowouts, I know that much, but can someone tell me what time, time2, shift and shift1-7 do? I have blowouts disabled for the moment, but I want to make them just shorter since it's boring to wait until it's over. This is OL2.2's system.ltx.

I don't recommend touching the shift numbers.
I'm bored as fuck, and this game looks nice. Of course, I've heard of most of the bugs and everyone says LURK is a good mod to use, and I heard about 1.1. Should I wait for 1.1 to come out or should I just use LURK now?
Do vanilla young rookie. Then do your Lurkan or your oblivionan.

What Sean and Gamer say.
Lurk=Hard as fuck unbalanced mod, but more realistic. Let's face it, life ain't fair. Oblivion=? SMP=More of a dick around mod. Not entirely unrealistic, but it has it's moments. It even has bosses. Both those games have a metric fuckton of guns, but I think SMP has more. Anyone care to fill in the blank? [editline]10:40PM[/editline] I like that phrase. A Metric Fuckton.

Kanyhalos?
Kanyhalos?
Yeah him.
Oblivion = fun, vehicles, everything from AMK mod, people will yell at you because they hate the guy that made it but don't take that too seriously because it's just a video game.
Seriously. Play AMK. OL just rips off its best features.
Yeah him.
Hold on I got a funny picture of him
Well let's be honest, he does seem to be a bit of a toss.
Do vanilla young rookie. Then do your Lurkan or your oblivionan.
Alright, any tips to get me started?
Alright, any tips to get me started?
You must learn the path on your own. But here's a tip anyway : Always carry a shotgun, I carry one because of those pesky bloodsuckers. and Quick Save is your best friend. And Holden, why did you get rid of the Hunger feature in LURK?
Seriously. Play AMK. OL just rips off its best features.
AMK crashes my computer when I accept a mission and I can't fix it. Without missions STALKER's not that great.
Alright, any tips to get me started?
Try real hard not to die. [editline]11:14PM[/editline]

Wow, what a dick.
Yeah... I don't like Kanyhalos. OL is good but he's just... like that.
Holden said it first.
I understand that, but really, there are points where it simply ridiculous from a design standpoint. I understand they want to have realism but they forget that along with realism you also have to have good game design. It's easy to turn up everything and make it seem realistic, lower what you can carry, boost monster speed and HP. What I am talking about is that parts that are simply not fare from any standpoint. Such as on the last mission, I got blown up by a helicopter no less than 40 times, not even kidding. I spent an hour of my time trying to cross the street. Even then there were TONS of hard soldiers while helicopters how missiles at you that damaged according to radius meaning the damage traveled through stuff. Other points where you have little to no ammo and your down in a lab while you are CONSTANTLY getting shit thrown at you; at that point it isn't even fun. I mean it's a great mod and has a lot of potential, they just need to tone down some things. Examples of balance: Near the start of the game: killing dogs in difficult because they run so fast you have to SPRAY a clip around till you hit them, mostly due to the fact that they run 30 MPH and turn at 90 and 180 degree angles at a time. Bloodsuckers run very fast to the point where it is hard to pick them off at long range, especially with their cloak, so you either have to run away or wait till he gets extremely close and then you empty a clip into it, jump around while reloading, and then empty another clip into it causing it to die. The Labs are simply ridiculous as a whole, no ammo, super hard monsters and lots of them, anomalies that half-kill you every time you get near, Snorks are extremely hard to hit and have tons of health. Near the end of the game: Helicopters kill you like nothing... and that's about it. Near the end I found it to be mostly balanced and fun, especially where you are outside. Though at the VERY end where I would supposedly be fighting the hardest soldiers, it was actually the easiest part of the whole game. This was partially due to the fact that they mostly didn't bother to shoot at me in the first place, and that I could jump into a room and spray bullets before they got a chance to react. In my opinion, this mod would we better if: Stopped shit from getting thrown at you all the time in labs, because seriously, what's the point in it? At all? If monsters were generally slower and more consistent in movement so you could actually do something to them. And finally remove some of the bodies and helicopters at the end of the game, it's just way too much.

This pretty much sums up Kanyhalos. There are dozens of screens like this.
Objects are getting thrown at you by the poltergeists. They're those floating electricity ball things. And I wasn't aware LURK had helicopters in the last mission. That does sound like a dick move. I understand in real life your chances of living in that situation are close to nil, but seriously now... And I enjoy the no ammo in the labs thing. Because seriously, why would there be ammo down there? It makes it harder. I like hard things.
I like hard things.
:smug:

Dammit...
AMK crashes my computer when I accept a mission and I can't fix it. Without missions STALKER's not that great.
You have the wrong patch. You need 1.0004 for AMK.
This pretty much sums up Kanyhalos. There are dozens of screens like this.
So what? I play the game for fun, not because the developer was an asshole. If that were the case I wouldn't be playing Call of Duty MW2 or any 3D Realms game.
